Klairs Supple Preparation Toner – Unscented version launched mid-March this year keeping the sensitive skin in mind. Previously the original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner was much loved by the user however for the fragrance and essential oil included sensitive skin people was really been able to love it as much as other was loving it.
I’ve used quite a few minis of the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, original version earlier. Never bought a full size because there was always a couple of mini in my stock which I was getting complimentary with purchase from here and there. When the new unscented version came out I was sent one for reviewing purpose.
I have mentioned in my early skincare posts (e.g. belif Prime Infusion Ampoules review) that I’ve been trying out this Klairs toner if you’ve noticed. After using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner – Unscented version, though a comparison between this new unscented version of Klairs toner vs. the original can help you to make the purchase decision regardless if you have a normal or a sensitive skin type.

Like the original one, this unscented version of Klairs toner also has a similar ingredient list that is perfect for all skin types. All of the ingredients feature a soothing blend of plant-based extracts, along with hydrating ingredient hyaluronic acid, and the soothing Centella Asiatica.
Differences between Klairs Supple Preparation Toner Original and the Unscented version
- As you can see I’ve got the mini bottle of the original version here, however, the full sizer bottle is just like the same as the unscented one. The only difference is that the unscented packaging has changed from a brown bottle to a transparent bottle. Also, the purple and silver color theme gave the unscented version a fresher, and sleeker feeling.
- Ingredient wise, If you have a look at the ingredient list above then you can see the unscented toner has all the same ingredient the original toner has. Just the difference is the unscented version doesn’t have any essential oils in the ingredient list, which makes it fragrance-free.
- The original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner contains non-irritating all natural essential oil, thus the fragrance you have in the toner is natural as well.
- Texturewise I felt the unscented version is slightly thinner than the original one.
Overall, If you ask me, I like the Unscented version of Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner the most.
How to use KLAIRS Supple Preparation Toner
The texture of the both Klairs toner is quite thick, gel-like. Although the Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner is less thick than the original one they both are hard to use with a normal cotton pad. They work the best with a spongy cotton pad that has more ventilation in it. Of course, the Klairs cotton pads work amazingly as they are made for these toners. I have got a thing for trying out different types of cotton pads and I’ve tried these toners with many types. After experimenting with varieties of cotton pad I feel comfortable using the toner only with a spongy coot pad.
Rest is simple. I soak the cotton pad with the toner and use it after washing the face and before applying a serum. I have been using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner in a rotation, AM or PM whenever I feel like to use it.
My experience with KLAIRS Supple Preparation Toner
Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is a fast absorbing toner and it has a lightweight texture. Original or the unscented version none occurred me any irritation ever. However, I feel the original version goes way to hydrated on my skin. I like the feeling of the unscented version more.
I have a 30+ combination skin type. Usually, I prefer an exfoliation toner more than a regular toner at this stage of my skin. Nonetheless, I do use a regular toner in between to soothe an protect my skin from over exfoliation. In terms of that, I’ve been really enjoying using Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner. Especially the day I physically exfoliate my face this toner has been a savior. Upon application, the toner feels perfectly moisturizing on the face.
I’ve also been using it as a part of my DIY sheet masking preparation, works great. Let me know if you’re interested to know about my DIY sheet masking ritual. I would love to write a post on that.
I also love the fact that Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is vegan-friendly.
Are you wondering who is Klairs Supple Preparation Toner suitable for?
The unscented version of this Klairs toner is for people who are sensitive to scent and got sensitivity to essential oils. The original Klairs toner is suitable for people who are not sensitive to natural fragrance of the essential oil. Regardless of that, both toner is appropriate for all skin type. Although I feel those who have a dry skin type will enjoy Klairs toner the most.
Additionally, I feel Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner can be a perfect choice of toner for the young skin.
