2

Hello Ladies..
I guess you are all prepared for this years Valentine.
Here is my 2nd look for you featuring red.

I created a simple black and brown soft smokey eye  with a color pop with blue liner underneath the eye. This look is quite easy to create yet can be worn with either red or blue both. Best wishes for your date event.

Lest get into the eye tutorial…..

Start with a clean base, apply a soft brown color in crease to define it.

With a shimmery brown shadow cover half of the lid, up to the crease area.

Now apply black shadow in the outer corner and blend it in crease as shown in picture.

Take a creamy bright blue shadow and line the lower lid. I applied some black line in the upper lid previously as a guideline of the joining corner.

Now highlight the browbone with a matte highlighter and give the final touch of liner in upper lid with a black liner.

Lastly, put on some mascara and tend your brows. Your eye makeup is done.

Here’s the full face picture…

Falgun AKA Spring Inspired Makeup

10

Pohela Falgun/Spring is at the door… Who is excited? Me? Certainly !!
If you from Bangladesh then you already know we celebrate Falgun with ‘Bashonti'(bright orange) color. Celebrating Falgun won’t be complete without Bashonti saree, yellow marigold and maybe a tip(bindi). We usually spend first day of Falgun with our special ‘bashonti’ getup 🙂

So, here is my take on Falgun inspired makeup for you guys… This look can be worn easily in a day time with Bashonti, red dress of your choice.

Lets get into the eye makeup tutorial…

Falgun makeup
1. I started with primed eyes and putting a highlighting color in tear dot area.
2. Slightly defined the crease with a soft taupe color. This will also work as my transition color.
3. Applied a bright orange shadow allover in the eye lid, up to the crease.
4. Applied a dark green shadow in the outer corner of lid creating an angular shape. also lined the lower eye line with same shade connecting both outer corner.
5. Then highlighted the brow bone with the color I used previously for tear dot and ofcourse blended every color nicely.
6. Time for brows. Filled my brows with ELF brow kit.
7. Now the last step, applied liner and generous amount of mascara. My eyes are done.

Here is full face picture…

Product I’ve Used:

Mascara Stash: All used up~~~

4

I have kinda bad habit of using two or more mascara at a time so when I trash mascara in 4/5 month they comes in number like this. These are my current used up mascara that I’m going to trash today. Before doing so though to do a quick post telling you how did they performed in use.

Rimmel London Glameyes Day to Night Mascara:

This one was my favorite among all for long time, bought so many of this. Worth around £8 in UK. Unfortunately, this is not available in BD, if you want to get it you’ll need to order online.
This mascara comes with two twist up brush with different kind of bristle, one gives volume and one gives length. My one is not the waterproof one but Rimmel has another version of this which is waterproof. It give really fuller and longer definition to lashes however, clumps a bit if you’re not careful enough.

Loreal Bare Natural Mascara:

When I saw this in store I got impressed by its brown gradient packaging. Bought it from Bodyline, BD and worth around BDT600/- . In use it was just an ordinary product, gave not so impressive performance. It didn’t clump on lashes but didn’t provide expected length or volume either.
Surely I wouldn’t repurchase this one.

Loreal FeatherLash Mascara:

Another purchase from Bodyline, BD. Worth around BDT500/-. I loved this one. It performed best in giving length, amazingly separate lashes and gives dark matte black finish. Now, if you want volume then you’ll have to apply another over it. But seriously I loved it and soon going to get another one.

Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara:

This is one of my old favorite mascara. Available in Bodyline, FamilyNeeds, Priyo. Price varies on store. It has thin rubber brush and vibrating switch in it so the brush really catches each and every tiny lash you have. It was the best mascara I ever used for lower lashes. I use non-waterproof version of this product but waterproof version is also available in market. I have a full review on this, do check that to know more. Visit Here…
Am I going to purchase it?? Hell yes, I did several time and I will, again and again unless I find any substitute 🙂

Take care lovelies, Let me know your experience if you tried any of these….. Much love for today 🙂

Everyday Makeup Routine | Suitable for Office or University in Bangladeshi Winter

12

Hello Beautiful, hope you doing well. Today’s post is about my recent daily makeup routine. When we talk about daily makeup remember its just those things which will make you look polished. Every day some of us run for office, some for the university, maybe some head to the local market to shop grocery. In this cases, we don’t get time to sit and do huge makeup or eventually we don’t want to do much makeup. You want to look as simple as possible yet clan and polished within a short time. In this post, I’m going to tell you how I do my everyday makeup.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

First, of course, I start with clean and moisturized face. As daily makeup means I’m going out for a long time so I do those things which will help my makeup to stay long as well as I can touch up easily in free time. Usually, I do my makeup in between while I’m finishing my other household task so that whatever I’m using that can have proper time to sit on the skin. I apply primer and let it sit in the skin for 1/2 minute. Then apply foundation or BB/CC which is light in coverage so that my skin can show through in its most and can breathe throughout the time. As because of its winter now I love using luminous finish foundation which takes away dryness of cold weather and provides healthy glow. After foundation, I reach for concealer. I love heavy coverage concealer always, by this I can use less to get the maximum output. No, I don’t use concealer all over my face or all over the high part of the face, I use that only in my freckles/blemishes, maybe lightly under my eyes.

Then I move to eyes.. the eyeshadow color you seeing from the picture is my most used color these days. However, if I don’t use that I use my bronzer or something very light just to cover up any discoloration of the eyelid. Apply the shadow all over the lid and blend it well in the crease so that it looks like a gradient of the same color, then lightly highlight the browbones. I draw a thin line 2/3rd or upper lid with a pencil or gel liner then blend it with black eyeshadow. The only reason to do this kind of line is to enhance eyelashes, no winged or thick liner as I wanna look natural as much as possible. Then apply 4/5 coats of mascara, yes I do apply a lot of mascara that my eyes can look alive. Last but not the list, tend my brows using brow pencil/brow kit and clear brow gel.

Again its time for the face. I never forget to contour my face lightly, apply light blush and a soft touch of highlighter. Lastly, dust some face powder with a big fluffy brush all over and I’m nearly done.
I pick a bit deep but not too deep-toned lipstick for this kind of look to warm up the whole face. Especially now, I’m loving dusky mauve or burgundy type of lip color as you can see from the picture. I do not use any lip pencils, I directly apply lip-color from the stick. Afterall, we need to take care of time as well.
This was my whole makeup process for everyday makeup. It takes not more than 30 minutes. Oh, yes, I use real techniques buffing brush to apply foundation/BB/CC cream just to avoid the mess. Use my ring finger to apply concealer, to me this is the best tool to apply and blend concealer.

Products I use:

Primer – I use either MUA Undress your skin or ELF Mineral Infused primer, switch between these two.
Foundation – Used MUA Undress your skin Illuminating foundation here. I also love using Pond’s/Garnier BB cream and Lakme CC cream.
Concealer – Used MAC studio finish concealer here also switch to Olay CoverGirl concealer balm or Revlon age defying DNA concealer
Powder – Used Lakme perfect radiance compact here. Also, use Revlon Colorstay pressed powder.
Bronzer – Revlon photo ready bronzer
Blusher – Flormar blush on P113
Highlighter – The Balm Maryloumanizer
Eyeshadow – The Balm mono eyeshadow, all about Alex
Eyeliner – Maybelline colossal kajal
Mascara – Revlon Colorstay custom eyes in black
Lipstick – Nyx lala (upper pics), Ioni burgundy (both are my recent favorite)

As its winter now, this makeup last 4/5 hours without touching up. After 4/5 hours sometimes I notice creases under my eyes but that’s easily fixable with a touch of powder. Eventually, this way I can go on a whole day without worrying about anything.
I know some of you prefer to wear nude lipstick to look natural, but I’ll suggest you not to wear totally nude lip color in winter, especially in the daytime. Nude lipstick takes away liveliness in winter. Try to find something from the warm side even if its nude. You can freely wear lipgloss if you prefer.
If you thinking about your makeup for work or classes then you can follow my steps or maybe product list. I believe you’ll find something helpful.

***I know many of you asked me to do a tutorial post on the everyday makeup look but you know, these steps are so simple and kind of one stroke makeup. So couldn’t frame it in the tutorial but tried to describe as much as possible. Hope it helped 🙂 Let me know.

Review: Meena Herbal Miracle Face Wash

2

About a month ago Meena Herbal sent me their Miracle Face wash to try out. Meena Herbal,a pure Bangladeshi company who launched this product almost recently.
This face wash is available all over the country and costs only BDT 120/- for 60g tube.
Product comes in a plastic tube and flip cap, pretty simple packaging with Orange red printed design in it. Somehow, I’m not really impressed with the packaging quality because of un even design layout and crimp . I would appreciate a bit more careful packaging finish.

This face wash has a gel texture, soft peach color in it. Though the product claims to consist aloe, honey and vitamin C though doesn’t smell like any of these yet has a nice but artificial smell. Feels smooth on skin while applied. Doesn’t lather up at all unless you using a facial cleansing brush. Leaves smooth skin without drying it up which i liked. Claims to be suitable for all skin type.

Now, the way I judge a face wash is how well it cleanse. In that case my opinion on Meena Herbal Miracle Face wash is it doesn’t have much cleansing power specially when I’m washing my face with makeup where the product claims to clean makeup completely. It takes 4/5 wash to clean non-waterproof mascara. But yes It did remove excess oil when I used the product without wearing makeup. In a conversation with Meena herbal authority they replied my complain this way, “this product doesn’t consist any soapy ingredient other than natural cleansing element, probably this might be the reason that I found it has less cleaning power.” However, regardless of my combination skin type I believe this is a mild category face wash.

I’ve been using this product quite a while and almost ended up with the tube, good thing is it didn’t break my skin. This face wash is fairly not my type because of its cleansing power, therefore, I will recommend this product to those who like mild face wash or ho has young age skin for daily use. If you have acne prone skin, I will suggest you to try this as because a mild face wash will be soothing for that type of skin.

***Note that, I’m not paid or biased to do this review. Everything stated here completely based on my honest opinion. Another important thing is, I’m no specialist or chemist. I know very little about chemical formulation and choose my product only depending on how it feels/reacts after use. So, If any harmful/controversial ingredient found in the ingredient list then you should definitely ignore my opinion and make your own decision toward the product.

My Lasik Story | The Best Decision of My Life?!

30

This post is about one of the most important decision of my life. The story of my eyesight and the Lasik Surgery…
***part of this article I wrote as a journal to frame my exact feeling and experience.

Eyes, the light of everyone’s life, I guess only those people realize the importance of it who have/had problems with it.

How does the story begin?
From my childhood, I had extreme headache issue, use to take normal medicines for that. I use to watch TV by sitting real close, no one noticed that. In school, I was a first bench girl, so never had an issue seeing the blackboard. I thought everyone sees the way I see. Not a single person in my family use to wear eye glasses or had any problem with eyes probably so I didn’t realize, even my parents never felt that I can have a sight problem. When I was in eight standard my headache issue gone worse then I fist went to an eye specialist and came home with heavy glasses(-4.5 in both eyes). Poor me!! But because of me my younger sibling got treated fast, within a year both of my younger siblings got their glasses..lol !
With time, it was increasing generously, by 12 standard my glass power reached to -7.5 with some cylindrical power. In the age of 22 it reached to -9.5 in the left eye and -8 in right and of course with cylindrical power. I was kind of blind without my glasses. However, I have started using contact lenses from my 12 standards but honestly, that was hard to use regularly in BD environment. By the age of 24 my sight power stopped increasing from them I was planning to do Lasik but I wasn’t sure and this or that took me this far to take the final decision.
A year before my friend did her Lasik from Mirpur Lasik center, BD. She was doing very well after her surgery though she hasn’t had a serious problem like me, that time I got a bit of inspired to do mine. Later on in September 2013 my younger brother(-4.5 approx) did his Lasik, he was doing well aswell. This time, I got real eager to sort out mine. So, decided to do my Lasik ASAP and get rid of the burden from my nose.
9th of November 2013, I went to Dhaka EyeCare Hospital, Uttara, BD to consult with my Doc. Haroon-ur-Rashid and did a pre-Lasik test. They took some test, readings and pictures of my eyes to do the pre-Lasik test. Then Doc. gave me the date of 15th November for Lasik and refer me to Gulshan Lasik Center where he gonna do the surgery.

I was excited throughout the week then…. !!
My doctor didn’t tell me much about the process of surgery. He only said it takes only 10min to do the whole process, it’s painless and you’ll be seeing the whole new world right after the surgery. I didn’t ask much that day and he hasn’t had much time to discuss with me as well.

Last night before the surgery so many questions went through my mind, how they do it, what are the preconditions or cautions, what if it goes wrong etc. Needless to say, I started researching on Google and YouTube. Things I saw and read there just blew off my mind. YouTube has the video of the whole process, what I got to saw is the surgery process involves a cut in your eye flap and it hurts while doing so. Also, I learned that there is two type of LASIK process in abroad, one is Custom Lasik another is Wavefront/bladeless Lasik. I was totally unaware of these matters and my doctor never mentioned those to me. I got scared and pissed, yes, I got literally pissed on my doctor. He should have told me these, I mean I have right to know what is he going to do with me!!!
However, I managed to calm my mind and thought to ask him before surgery.
So, 15th November 2013 doctor did some test on my eyes by himself, then he told me I have some sight issue in my left eye(approx -1) by born which is not going to fix but it will be fine to see with both eye. I discussed with him about my last night knowings, surgery types, he told me here in BD they do some kind of surgery which is between of both types. I was like huh!! what is he trying to make me understand!! Hence, I decide to take the chance and went for surgery…

I was sent to restroom situated next to OT 30 minute before wearing OT apron. As because I was aware of surgery process, I was very careful about the numbing drops what is usually given twice, one drops 5 minutes before another is just before the surgery. Read in one article that nurse forgot to give patient the numbing drops properly and because of that that patient suffered during the surgery. And guess what, my nurse forgot to give me that second time. Lucky me that I knew that from before!
Yes, the cut of eye flap was there, and I felt tremendous pressure in eyes while a suction cup got into my eyes to cut the flap. That was the main painful part, other than the surgery went fine and quick. After cutting the flap they wash and clean eyes, put the laser beam and then put flaps back in place. I was feeling every beat of it, also, the laser machine tells you what it is doing. Within 10minute surgery was done. I was sent back to the restroom.

Was I able to see right after my surgery, no! I was seeing everything blurs. My eyes weren’t hurting after the surgery but within an hour, it started itching and hurting. I was told about that, the doctor gave me three drops to use 12 times a day, one after another and also he told me to sleep if I want.
I got back home, took the painkiller(was not prescribed) and tried to sleep asap. It was hard to sleep because of irritation. However, I fell asleep within an hour and woke up at evening. By then my irritation was gone almost and I was seeing things a bit clearly.

Day after the surgery:
Its 10.31am  I woke up around 7am today. My vision is pretty good today than yesterday though it’s not clear yet. I’m still having blur vision and light sensitivity but much clear than yesterday. Just talked to my brother to make sure if it is ok to see the blur. He said he eyes took 2/3 days to see things clearly.

The pain and itchiness in the eye are gone just eyes feels a bit heavy. My right eye seems to have better vision than the left eye. I noticed 3/4 tiny red spots in my right eye…wondering if it’s gonna go away.

Still I’m having difficulties to look at PC screen n TV.

I have an appointment at evening with the doc. Let’s see what he says today.

….Just came back after visiting the doctor. He said, my eye condition is quite well. He gave me another appointment for next week and told to apply eye drops in every hour and avoid water contact from eyes for rest of the week.

Three days after:
The whole day I was literally depressed and frustrated about my eyes. I figured out my right eye is working completely fine, I can see thing crystal clear but the left eye is still having blur vision. Can even see things clearly by left eye only from two feet away. I cried, yes I got that frustrated…. I checked all my surgery reports all over again to find out if there is anything unusual about my left eye but everything seemed alright. Then at the evening, I remembered doc said my left eye had a short vision from birth so it won’t be fully clear after surgery.
I calm my mind thinking let’s have patience and wait till the next visit to the doctor with the hope it might get better by this time.

I am also having another problem today. Those eye drops I was using, they started to give me burning sensation almost suddenly and also making my eyes red. They didn’t behave this way before. I am totally terrified if there is something wrong.

Four days after:
This morning I discussed my eye problems with my husband, my friend and my brother. My husband told me to visit doctor imminently. My friend said, her eyes was completely fine right after the surgery. My brother said his eye took 3/4 days to have a clear vision and those drops also gave him burning sensation.
So, later on, I decided to wait till the next appointment.

A week after:
I met my doctor today. Went through a couple of sight test again. Doc said I’m doing completely fine. I discussed with him about the problem of my left eye. He said as because I had short sight in my left eye from birth which I never checked individually while wearing glasses so it won’t be as precise as I’m expecting but it will improve by one or two months and that won’t be a problem when I’ll be seeing with both eyes. I also asked him about the burning sensation I was having from eye drops. He said, ‘they are supposed to work that way’.

He gave me another appointment for the visit after a month and also said I’m ready to behave normally with my eyes such as touching water, taking a shower or else but with a bit of care.
Came back home with a peaceful mind.
However, the overall condition of my eyes is way better today. I can realize that my vision is better than before yet having the glare of light when I’m facing highly contrasted light environment such as in the road in front of cars at night.

26th November:
For the first time I went out in the sunlight today and this strange thing happened, I stepped in the road and the sunlight hit my eyes like hell. I felt like the light beam directly went through my eyes by giving numerous pain. I closed my eyes right away and realized my eye are not ready yet to face this bright light. My husband ran into the home and got me sunglasses, then it was ok though the pain I got in first hand it made me suffer whole day.

3rd December:
For last few days I was trying to adjust with bright light like sunlight by going out with or without sunglasses. Now it seems quite okay. I can freely go under sunlight without having any pain.

8 December:
ah!! it’s about to be a month soon. How is my eye condition? Great, I’ll say. everything is perfect but one thing… I’m still not comfortable at night on the road, glare from car and road lights is still there, hoping it will also be over soon. Otherwise, everything is completely ok. In this stage I started feeling like doing Lasik was the best decision I have ever made in my life !!

It’s 16th January 2014 today, I writing my final words for this article. Already its been 2 months after my LASIK. My eyes are doing completely fine. All my issues I was having after surgery is gone, though my left eye is not clear as doctor mentioned before but with both eye I see things crystal clear. By the way, one thing I believe that whatever doctor said about my left eye born issue it’s not true maybe they just can’t fix the cylindrical power as I had quite a lot cylindrical power in the left eye, though I might be wrong. Right now, thinking to do another reading eye test soon by some other doctor.
Yes my surgery was ok, I’m doing fine it did reach up to my expectation, now it is a new world that I’m seeing, I do agree to do LASIK did change my world and I’m very much thankful to doctor but I do have complaints with doctor, hospital and the LASIK center management team. They should have given proper time and information while consulting with a patient. In my opinion, every patient has right to know every right and real information about any surgery. They just can’t leave any patient with blank information.

To my reader, I’ll say.. don’t hesitate to do Lasik if you have a sight problem, it will change your life but do talk to your doctor where ever you go, ask for proper information about the process and whatever you wanna know.

Costs info:
Pre-Lasik: 5,000/-
Lasik: 46,000/-
Other tests, fees, medicine: 2,000/-

Hope will find this article helpful.
Best wishes for all of you who is going to do Lasik 🙂
