MACxToledo Lipstick Sin Review & Swatch | MAC Malaysia Online Shopping

MAC Malaysia Online ShoppingMACxToledo Lipstick Sin

I want to talk a bit about my shopping experience with MAC Malaysia Online. This was my fist online purchase with them. MACxToledo collection was available to purchase online 2days earlier than shop so I thought to take the chance to get my products earlier and that way I also could avoid the chances of experiencing ‘out of stock’. As stated in their website I was suppose to get delivery within two to five working days. I placed my order in thursday midnight just after the collection appeared in website. I was really hoping to get the delivery by tuesday. However, that didn’t happen the way I expected. On next monday I got mail from MAC saying the order was just received and after long wait of eight days I received my delivery in friday. This was really upsetting. Its not that I live in east-Malaysia that it could take that much time and actually I live in the same place where the MAC warehouse is. However, apart from this delay everything was fine. I did receive my product safely just one regret that I could get that way more earlier if I went to shop. Next time I will remember that fact for sure.

Let’s talk about the product I got…

This limited edition Isabel and Ruben Toledo collection came up with quite a huge variety of product from lipstick to nail polish to eye shadows and many more. This collections signature packaging is definitely the major fact that can impress anyone’s mind. Needless to mention I was drawn to packaging more than the actual product. I’m simply loving that simple white with soft and sober touch of art, the high quality of packaging material is also represent luxury.

My collector mind couldn’t resist to lust for one at least. There was a major influence of red shade in this collection specially in their lipstick which doesn’t go with my taste. Only one lipstick ‘Oxblood’, a nude, was there to pick but that is quite similar to MAC’s another shade ‘Kinda Sexy’ which I already have so that didn’t attract me either. After lot of debating with own I decided to pick the lipstick Sin. Yes thats a red and already in MAC’s permanent line but that shade was missing my collection so I thought this is the right time to have that rich red with a signature packaging.

MACxToledo Lipstick SinMACxToledo Lipstick Sin

The MACxToledo Lipstick Sin is a matte formula yet creamy enough to give you moisturised feeling on lip. If you are familiar with MAC’s matte formula then you already know their lasting power will surely meet your satisfactory level.  The colour Sin is a deep blood red, almost close to maroon or I can say burgundy but its somewhat different than that. The more you layer the lipstick the more it gets deeper in color. This shade was in my wish list for long, I’m always hesitant of reds but now I’m happy that I finally picked it up.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]MACxToledo Lipstick Sin

Summer is on the door, this is so not a season to wear such deep lip shade but I think there is no time barrier to wear a retro look. isn’t it? What about you? Have you picked any or waiting for any upcoming collection?

Coffee Chat And New Hair Cut

6

Coffee Chat | GreenStoryblog.com

So, if I look back to last couple of weeks then it is obvious that I’m regularly irregular in my blog. Why? I was maybe thinking more than working in real. Probably I was not feeling well much to jazz up my thoughts in screen. It can be the tiering hot weather here that sucks up all my inspiration to work. Or its just the me looking for an excuse.

However, past couple of weeks its not been raining really. Weather is frying hot and humidity is really low here in Malaysia. I feel dehydrated and tired all the time. Only at night I kinda feel good but then I can’t sit and work for blog. I’m really taking care of my bed time these days. Otherwise I know I’ll caught some serious sickness. May be I should have consult with doctor by now but I am the women from third world, I grown up learning not to care about health much! Am I sound ridiculous?

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Apart from physical issue I’m also into some makeup dilemma and that causing me lot of pain, I mean mental dissatisfaction. Someone might think why the hell I’m even thinking about that, there is whole lot of valuable stuff in this world to think about. But dear, thats where my personal interest lies. What happened is, I was so much into ‘makeup that not looks makeup’ for last six month. I swear I did and still doing lot of work to achieve such result, needless to say my skill did improve but not in that exact point. Last week my interest made me taking part of a makeup workshop conducted by Laura Mercier which was mainly focused on base makeup of course. Thats where I became so doubtful about my skill and what I was trying to achieve ever since. In one sense thanks God that I attended that workshop otherwise I wouldn’t have any idea what skill an actual makeup artist holds in her hand. Other hand right now I’m so frustrated about my own makeup. Yes, I’m definitely not stopping right here. I have to develop my skill solely for me and I was already been practicing this whole week. Certainly I’ll be mastering(at least something close) up on that particular side very soon but the confusion is I’m forgetting what my reader/follower actually likes to see, that high volume of makeup shake up you know what I mean.

Well, enough of blabbering! Seems I’ll keep writing to an endless point.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]
asymmetrical bob

Experimented with another thing this week as you can already see. Got a new hair cut!

Other night I was just lying on bed, chatting with my girlfriends and listening to Taylor Swift then this holy(!) thought came up in my mind. I asked my friend how it will be if I cut my hair short, she was like ‘umm okey’. Yes obviously, for some unknown reason no one will inspire you if you talk about cutting your hair short. Yet that thought was settled in my freaking mind and I went to saloon just next day and got Asymmetrical Bob. Last time I cut my hair short 4/5 year back, this time it is more shorter and more exciting. Our life is short after all, there is no point of keeping same style all the way, we definitely should experiment, isn’t it? And it will eventually grow longer within 2/3 month.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

….. Well well, this coffee chat ends here because my coffee mug is empty already.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal | Review & Swatch

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Last year in October I brought bunch of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal from India. Mainly that was for to stock them up because I’m an old fan of Lakme Eyeconic kajal in black. That time along with black one I also got Blue, Grey and White to try. I was suppose to write this review long time ago but the lazy me and time management hold be back till now!

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Apart from this four color there is also two more color green and brown of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal available in market. They claims to be long wearing up to 10 hour, smudge proof, waterproof and dermatologically tested.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Packaging of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal is very random like all other twist up liner. Every pencil contains .35g of product.
Among all budget Kajal available in market Lakme is my favourite. First reason, they are very smooth to apply compare to others. They glide on supper easily in waterline and with one/two swipe I get that perfect opaque color.

Lakme Eyeconic KajalLakme Eyeconic Kajal

About the shades I got, as I mentioned before black is my favourite always. Some people find this black isn’t black enough but it’s completely fine with me. I die on its smoothness mainly. White one is another best white kajal that I have experienced so far. None of the white kajal/liner I have used so far stayed in my water line with full opacity but this one. I find the blue one little bit disappointing in terms of color. This blue is almost close to black not that deep navy blue I expected. Grey one appears to be blue-ish grey with opaque pigmentation.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Lakme claims these liners to be smudge proof but they are not. As you can see from the picture above they does smudge with of course strong effort. They do last long in eyes if you don’t touch them. I wore these liner up to 6/7 hour and they stayed put all the way. These liner also turned to be safe in sensitive eyes like mine, they didn’t occur any allergic issue. Taking them off isn’t hard either but if you want to wear them in waterline then you might need to use a good remover to take them off.

Overall, I love Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. I already went through few of black one and will repurchase that again for sure. At least for me they are the best budget kajal available in market. I highly recommend them if you haven’t tried one yet.

Availability:
These are widely available in India ( RS 200) and Bangladesh (BDT450/-).
In Malaysia selected Guardian Carries whole range of lame product. Lakme Eyeconic Kajal retails here in Malaysia for 20RM.

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette | Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette [wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Who doesn’t love Cinderella and her story? I’m no different 🙂
I guess you already know MAC released their Cinderella collection last week with so many new product inspired by the movie Cinderella and the actual character. I picked up MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette, retails for $44/190RM, only from that collection.

In my opinion this collection is solely a collectors item with such beautiful baby blue and gold accent packaging yet product variety isn’t really attractive enough. I found this shadow palette functional only that I could use for real.

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette [wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette contains following 6 shades:

*Vapour: Peach pink with violet pearl (Velvet Finish)
*Omega: Soft gutted beige taupe (Matte Finish)
*Satin Taupe: Taupe with silver shimmer (Frost Finish)
*Phloof: Frosted off-white (Frost Finish)
*Quarry: Soft muted plum brown (Matte Finish)
*Stroke Of Midnight: Deep purple with pink sparkly specks (Velvet Finish)

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette is a palette with 6 natural-tone shade that can come handy for everyday use. Five shade here is from MAC’s permanent line and only the last shade ‘Stroke Of Midnight’ is new, which is a deep dark purple with sparkly particle in it. The shade ‘Stroke Of Midnight’ looks very alluring in pan however when applied its turns out kind of blackish purple. At first I thought Stroke Of Midnight is going to be my favourite shade but after using them I fell in love with Satin Taupe and Quarry. All shades there applies beautifully though, I have no complain with their pigmentation or else.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

This was my first time trying MAC shadows so for me this palette was perfect because I’m getting to experience their permanent shadows and a new one with this limited edition beautiful packaging. It is also a complete palette because shadows here has variety of finish(matte, velvet and frost) that can complete any look within this palette.

I’m loving this palette because technically all shades here are new to me yet for someone who already have those permanent shades as a limited edition this palette can be a disappointment.

MAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese Kiss | Swatch & Review

MAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese KissMAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese Kiss

Recently released MAC Bao Bao Wan collection is inspired by the fellow Chinese artist Bao Bao Wan with her womanly and brazen aesthetic. The whole collection deeply reflects the designer mind and her love for metallic touch.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

At first I wasn’t really keen enough to get anything from this collection but as soon as I saw the product in person I must admit I fell in love with the packaging. The matte brown look yet those teal-ish spark, sand like finish and metallic touch of copper gold melted my heart. I just had to have one in my collection.

MAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese KissMAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese Kiss[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]MAC Bao Bao Wan Lipstick Burmese Kiss

These collection comes with four lipstick. I picked one named Burmese Kiss. This shade is a warm coral pink and matte in texture with excellent opacity. If you are familiar with MAC’s matte then you already know how creamy and smooth they feels actually. Yet to remind you, MAC’s regular matte lipsticks are not as matte as the retro matte range.

Burmese Kiss is a very bright coral shade or I should say it is actually close to neon form. Some says its quite similar to Relentlessly Red but its totally not. Relentlessly Red has coral tone to that but that one is completely in blue side where Burmese Kiss is purely yellow/orange in tone. Sometimes I feel its a pure coral shade.

Burmese Kiss feels like the perfect shade for spring, I’m sure i’m gonna enjoy wearing it the whole season.

As because Bao Bao Wan is a limited collection by MAC so it’s not going to be available in the market for long. If you haven’t picked your one yet then you might want to hurry 🙂  And if you’re already done then I would love to know what you got from the collection… Let me know 🙂

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

NOTE: Bao Bao Wan is already released in MAC store, Malaysia. As far as I know tomorrow(5th march) they will be out in Singapore, USA and everywhere else. The Lipstick retails for 77RM/$17.50.

Empties February’15 | Hair, Skin, Makeup | Short Review

4

Empties

Hello March?! Wish you all have a fruitful month ahead…

In this first post of March I though to share with you few of my last months products that I’ve used up. These are those product that I use on daily basis, some I love, maybe some of them are not much good that i’ll purchase again or I just didn’t get space to write about them individually.  Im actually thinking to continue ‘Empties’ segment from now on every couple of month which will contain short reviews, like two three lines, of the product I’ve used up in past months. Obviously, because I don’t end up with bunch of empties every month 🙂

Do let me know if you would like to read more of this kind of contextual post.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Hair Care Empties:
I was going crazy with my hair since I’m here in Malaysia. Somehow the my hair wasn’t reacting well with weather here. I was mainly struggling with oily scalp. Therefore, I was experimenting with quite a few shampoo and conditioner. Right now I have these three empties of shampoo and conditioner.

Kerasys, Pantene, Loreal [wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Loreal Keratin Smooth Perfecting Shampoo:
This shampoo seems to be very popular on market. This was my first time trying it and sadly it completely failed me. It failed to give me clean scalp even after two/three wash. It did provide smoothness and straightened feeling to my hair instantly but that use to last for 4/5 hour only. This product was a total ‘Nay’ for me.

Kerasys Nutritive Ampoule Rinse/Conditioner:
This product claims to repair damage hair with ampoule impact. Whatever the ingredient it has or however the way it works but it did worked great on my hair. My hair felt much more healthy and completely tangle free after using this and the effect use to last for 24hr+. Loved using this and surely gonna be a repurchase.

Pantene Aqua Pure Shampoo:
This shampoo claims to have lot of good side in it but unfortunately I found this as a bogus product with zero cleaning power. It felt like whats the point of using a shampoo when it doesn’t even clean dirt from hair!! This is definitely a ‘No Buy’ product.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Skin Care Empties:

The Body Shop, Simple, Essence

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter:
This specific ‘Glazed Apple’ range by Body Shop came up as a special edition of Christmas. Im not sure if its still available in market. I had three tub of this and I enjoyed using every bit of it. This butter is slightly different in texture that other Body Shop body butter has. It’s quite thick in texture and worked wonder keeping my dry body skin nourished for a full day. This butter also smells very fresh citrusy.

Essence PureSkin Moisturizer:
This was my first time trying any skincare product by Essence. Essence has quite a few skin care range variety. This moisturiser is from their pure skin range which claims to be anti-spot. Well, about the ‘anti-spot’ fact I completely do not agree. It doesn’t do anything with facial spot but as a moisturiser it works ok. The product has thin texture which absorbs into skin very fast without leaving any greasiness and keeps skin nourished for hours. I do recommend this product if you like to use a basic and simple moisturiser.

Simple Cleansing Wipes(Sensitive Skin):
Simple is one of my old favourite brand for skin care but trying their wet wipes was first time for me. This cleansing wipe performed well for cleaning yet I’m not quite happy with it. Though I picked the one is for sensitive skin but this wipe felt really harsh and scratchy on skin. Next time I might try other variety of Simple wipes but not this specific one.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Makeup Empties:

MAC, Bioderma, Ponds

MAC Fix+:
I’m wondering at this point. Do I really need to talk about Fix+, I guess everyone knows about it and whoever loves it they loves it for forever. Well lets talk a bit, MAC Fix+ has been a must have and regular purchase for me when it comes to makeup. In case if you are interested to know how it works and how I use it then let me know, I’ll put up another in depth review on it.

Bioderma Sebium H2o:
This micellaire solution is one of my favourite as eye makeup remover. Its so kind to sensitive eyes like mine and cleanse every bit of makeup without much effort. Love this product but a bit expensive in my opinion.

Ponds BB+ Cream With SPF 30PA++ :
Well well, this BB cream happened to be my most used BB cream ever. I used this same product for one long year regularly. I couldn’t think my daily makeup without this. I guess I’ll have to stop using it at this point because this was my last tube and its not available here in Malaysia. Only one drawback with this BB cream was its one shade that might not go with every skin tone. I never really got time to write about this product which I totally should have. It gives smooth matte finish which last for long and blends into skin seamlessly. If you have oily or combination skin then you’ll also love it. I highly recommend this BB cream.

Hope you liked the first post of ‘Empties’ segment. I would love to know your opinion and suggestion about something new that I can write about 🙂

Zoeva Luxe Face Brushes & My Thoughts!

4

I badly needed to replace some of my face brushes so needless to say, that was my chance to grab some Zoeva brush. Zoeva has various range of brushes but I went for the Luxe range. White bristles attract me always because that makes me clean them regularly.

These Luxe Face brushes I got also comes with different sets. I went for singles just to pick the one I needed. Each of these single brush comes with zip-bag and brush guard. Awesome, right?

Zoeva luxe face brush
Zoeva luxe face brushes

Aren’t they look gorgeous???

Yes, they are also mind-blowing in real. What I love most about Zoeva brushes is their perfect sized barrel. They aren’t short like travel-sized brush yet not even long like other brushes that make you uncomfortable while holding. From the handle to ferrule to bristle every part of these brushes reflect high quality. You can literally say at first look that they are made with care.

Bristles of this particular ‘Luxe’ range comes with mix fiber/ hair. They are so soft yet firm to touch, packs up just right amount of product. I was surprised to see that they are nothing bad but even better if I compare them with my sigma brush bristle. A better option with cheaper price, I’m totally in love with Zoeva!

Let’s talk about the brushes I got…

Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint
Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint

Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint: $18.45/RM57.50

This brush is made of natural-synthetic hair(mix of both I guess). It has a flat precise top which is specially made for sculpting/contouring. I wanted to try this particular brush for long to experiment with my countering skill a bit more. At first use, I felt this brush is a bit smaller in size than I need, for the faster application I needed a bigger size to cover more space. However, that might be just my habit of using a bigger brush. Right now trying to get used to it. I must mention this brush is fabulous shaping nose and such areas.

126 Luxe Cheek Finish Face makeup brush
ZoevaCosmetics Face Brushes 126 Luxe Cheek Finish

Zoeva 126 Luxe Cheek Finish: $21.42/RM67

To me, this face makeup brush seems almost similar to the Face Paint Brush 109. Has the same kind of bristle(mix of natural-synthetic hair) but just the top is rounded and a bit bigger in size. Well, it’s stupid to tell them similarly. They aren’t similar in any way. Actually, it looked similarly sized in website picture while I was purchasing.
Zoeva says it’s a multi-purpose brush. I agree with that. I got this brush for the purpose of highlighter application but it seems to work great for contouring as well.

Zoeva Cosmetics Face Brushes - 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek
127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Face makeup brush

Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek: $18.45/RM57.50

This angle shaped brush is made with natural hair. Has perfect bristle length and density. Works excellent for blush and bronzer application, as well as the highlighter. Love it!

Zoeva Cosmetics luxe face brush

I already washed these face brushes twice and haven’t noticed any fallout. They are even easy to clean, doesn’t build any stain either(till now). I must mention, with the cream product they work ok yet as because their bristles are not fully synthetic so they won’t be performing well with the liquid product.

I purchased these Zoeva brushes through Sephora. It was fast and easy as well as cost-effective to buy through them rather buying directly from Zoeva Cosmetics Website. They do offer international shipping. Just check if that includes your country).

I already made my mind for my next Zoeva purchase, loved these brushes this much!
Have you tried any Zoeva brushes yet? How is your experience?

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

0

If you are a regular reader then you already know earlier this mont I was invited by Sephora to participate their ‘Mystery Mascara Test’ event. One tube of  Mascara(without brand label) was given to me and I was suppose to try and state my thoughts(read here) on that. Unveil party of that ‘Mystery Mascara’ happened last 14th February in Sephora, Starhill. I was honoured to be one of the lucky guest in that amazing party. Thanks to Sephora and Benefit Malaysia. No surprise, that mystery mascara was another new invention by none other than Benefit Cosmetics.

Benefit Roller Lash MascaraBenefit Rollar Lash mascara[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Sad part first, I forgot to bring my camera at the party so, couldn’t really capture beauty and glam of the event. My phone was my only buddy to help! The Party was full of fun activities and then the launch.

Benefit Rollar Lash mascara launch party

We got to know so many infos and behind scenario and motivation of the Roller Lash mascara. I was surprised to know eyelash curler first invented in 1931 and we, now in 21st century, still depending on that to beautify our eyelash. Benefit says, we needed some easier and modern alternative of eyelash curler, which I totally agree. Therefore, the Benefit Roller Lash mascara comes as an easier and more effective stubstitue of eyelash curler. Hats off to Benefit!

End of the party there was more surprise for us, Benefit goody bag with the mystery mascara AKA the Roller Lash mascara in its actual cute packaging 🙂

Benefit Roller Lash mascara [wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Lets talk about the actual product now…

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Like all other Benefit product this new Roller Lash mascara packaging is incredibly cute. One full size mascara contains 8.5g of product. In Malaysia it’ll be priced around 95RM. I was told, from the first week of march Benefit Roller lash mascara will be available in Sephora and Benefit boutique to purchase.

Before saying anything about the quality and performance of Roller Lash mascara I would suggest you to read(here…) my thoughts I stated before when I didn’t even know the brand name. You’ll know my true opinion.

Benefit roller lash mascara [wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Ever since I got this mascara I’m loving it like never loved any mascara before only because how it lift up lashes. The hook n roll method of Roller Lash mascara works wonder, curls and lift it gives last long and it is quite easy to remove. However, I found this mascara doesn’t work much to lengthen lashes.

Do I recommend? Yes ofcourse, if you are tired of struggling with eyelash curler you must give this Benefit Roller lash mascara a try. I’m sure you won’t regret.
