Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette | UD Eyeshadows Are Creating That VICE Vibe Once Again

Share post:

Hello there beautiful, how are you doing??? Going enough with the flow of holiday shopping? Well, yeh I’ve been doing that quite a bit… thus today I here to talk about Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette.

It’s been kinda regular that every year Urban Decay will launch a new version of Vice Palette and that will be as unique and eye-catching as nothing else. I did get that last year’s Vice Palette (review & swatches here…) and with the flow, I had to get this year’s one as well. But it’s not only about the trend, But Vice palettes are also actually worth to get your hands on.

Without rambling, let’s get into my thoughts on this Vice 4 eyeshadow palette.

As always, the packaging is beautiful this year (the picture above) or I should say this year UD did the best packaging for Vice. The spidery design and holographic color will steal anyone’s mind. But girl those tricky corners of the wave catches a lot of dust inside and that is hard to clean, not a complain yet I do feel disturbed because of this sometimes.

The box also comes with a pouch (which I’m not really fancy about), a big mirror on the opener flap, and a dual-ended brush.

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette comes with 20 shade of eyeshadow, most of them are jewel-toned (some has chunky glitter in it), a few are satin and matte in finish. Green shades and a couple of light shade here in this palette aren’t my favorites but other than that I love the color selection.

Glittery shades here feel very appropriate for party makeup and matte shades here fit perfectly for any look.

I have to turn the focus on to the quality, this year Urban Decay did an excellent job in maintaining the quality of these shadows. Unlike last year’s Vice palette, there is none that feels powdery and creates fall out, although the shade ‘Grip’ gives zero pigmentation without primer.

Let me give you a closer look at the shades and their swatches…

First row

From left to right:

  • Bones: A greyish cream shade, satin finish.
  • Grip: A light grey, has gold micro glitter in it. Without primer, it doesn’t show up on my skin at all.
  • Deadbeat: A blackened grey, has multi-color micro glitter in it.
  • Beat Down: A deep navy blue with a violet undertone, shimmery finish
  • Pandemonium: A purple-ish plum with micro glitter

Second Row

From left to right:

  • Framed: A light peach, matte in finish
  • Fast Ball: A metallic Pinky-peach. This shade is just like Makeup Geek’s new duo-chrome shadow ‘Mai Tai’ except the chrome effect.
  • 1985: Hot pink with a blue undertone, satin finish
  • Underhand: A metallic burgundy with a lilac undertone
  • Harlot: A pale metallic lavender

Third Row of Urban Decay Vice 4

From left to right:

  • Discreet: A dusty mauve, matte in finish.
  • Grasshopper: Bright metallic green.
  • C-Note: A rusty metallic green with silver-tone and micro glitter.
  • Arctic: A metallic sea green or simply teal. I found it quite similar to MakeupGeek foiled eyeshadow ‘Pegasus’ (review & swatch here…), maybe the Arctic is just a bit more in the green side.
  • Robbery: A brownish gunmetal, purely metallic.

Fourth Row

From left to right:

  • Bitter: A matte warm brown with strong red hue. This shade reminds me of Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear (review & Swatch here…), they are identically similar.
  • Flame: A coral-orange with sparkly micro glitter
  • Low: A muted brown with visibly large glitter
  • Crowbar: A blackened warm brown (somehow there is green tone) with chunky gold glitter and micro-sparkle
  • Delete: A deep taupe with a warm red hue, matte in finish

I tried to point out a few of my favorite shade but it turns out I love most of them. They all give generous (except Grip, 2nd one from the left, in the first row) pigmentation without primer, with primer they are fantastic. Moreover, if you apply them wet then they are beyond words. All of them feel creamy in texture and blends seamlessly (Low and Crowbar might need a bit of work because of their chunky glitter).

I’ve been wearing them one by one since I got the palette and I can say this palette alone offers a hundred different look to play with.

The look below I wore for a night out recently created using Urban Decay Vice 4 palette. I applied BITTER in the crease and ROBBERY in my lid. In the outer corner, I softly touched DEADBEAT, used BONESones in my brow bone and in the tear duct area. I was in the rush that day, went through my eye very quickly yet loved how beautifully every shadow performed!

Urban Decay Vice 4 makeup

In a nutshell, for the packaging, color selection and shadow quality of Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette makes it a great edition to every makeup lover’s collection. Not only for collection but it is more than appropriate for any occasion. However, it is not a cake for glitter/jewel tone heaters.
