Are you a lazy bone when it comes to washing hair? Do you have oily scalp and it bugs you badly? No matter we are lazy to wash hair or not but also we ran out of times in our busy lives sometimes. And that very day there is an important meeting to attend but can’t just go there with a bad hair, right? Worry not, no more dull and lifeless hair, a Dry Shampoo is your instant solution from all those problems.
When it comes to dry shampoo Batiste is the name to rely on; for its amazing quality and of course the pocket-friendly price. According to market data provider Nielsen, Batiste has been the UK’s number one dry shampoo brand for over 30 years. I’ve been hooked with Batiste for last two years. Since last year Batiste was available here in Malaysia but they were always too hard to find. Just a couple of months ago, I had to hunt them down to restock and I had to go to KLIA just to buy these…phew! Drum Roll please…. the hunting pain is over because the last month DKSH Malaysia widely re-launched Batiste Dry Shampoo. I myself couldn’t be happier.
What is Dry Shampoo?
Dry shampoo is kind of a hair spray like thingy but it’s nothing like a hair spray. Comes in a trendy tin spray container and formulated with starch. When you spray the dry fine starch powder comes out and gets absorbed into hair oil giving hair an instant refreshment. However, it’s not any substitute for a regular shampoo or so. You can use dry shampoo in between you hair washes to keep the hair fresh, flowy and oil-free all the way. Some hair shampoos are formulated to give volume thus who has flat hair or oily scalp can be benefited with voluminous hair without puffing hair or a hair spray.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is focused on:
♦ Innovative starch based ‘no water needed’ formulation
♦ Targets excess oil and grease at hair roots
♦ No residue or stickiness
♦ Suitable for all hair types and colors.
How I use Batiste Dry Shampoo:
I’ve oily scalp and fine hair so in the 2nd day of hair wash my hair gets flat like there is no end. Batiste dry shampoos are my ‘lazy day’ instant solution. After combing my hair thoroughly, I spray Batiste dry shampoo on the roots, keeping it from the distance of 12 inches at least. massage my hair roots and give it another comb. Then style (iron or curl) as I want. For those days when my hair is overall flat and oily (maybe in the 3rd day of wash), I spray Batiste Dry Shampoo from root to tip.
Before using dry shampoo it is must SHAKE-ing the can very well and you must spray it only on dry hair. Another thing, do not overspray, you need a little amount to revive your hair. If you over spray you’ll get bad residue on your scalp. I’ve been over spraying it for long and was quite disappointed but the residue I use to get. I was completely unaware what I was doing wrong then luckily a friend of mine helped me to find out the ‘NOT – To Do’ thing I was doing.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is available now in five varieties…
- Original – Clean & Classic
A classic that cleans and freshens up hair in no time, has a very light scent. I love it for my day to day use. This is also a great option for those who don’t like scents.
- Blush – Floral & Flirty
A best seller of Batiste with a refreshing floral scent that represents the essence of feminity. I love the scent very much and often rotate between my Original and Blush.
- Cherry – Fruity & Cheeky
Ideal for anyone that loves a sweet scent. It has smooth luscious retro flavor delivering a rich cherry scent.
- Divine Dark – A Hint of color
With a hint of deep brown color to help blend in root regrowth and any stray grays. This tinted one is very good if you have dark hair.
- Heavenly Volume – for that show-stopping volume
A 2-in-1 that instantly refreshes hair and gives more volume more than a normal dry shampoo could. A perfect way to give hair a freshly amplified look. I haven’t tried it at the launch event of Batiste and completely in love with the volume it gives. I had to purchase it ASAP.
Among all the Batiste shampoo I don’t find much difference, Original and others feel the same except their fragrance. Only the heavenly Volume one is quite different. It’s close to a hairspray, has some stickiness but not gluey like a hairspray. When my hair is completely flat and I must add some volume only then I use this one on the hair roots to avoid all over sticky hair. I find it amazing for doing a high ponytail or an updo.
I love batiste for my regular life and when I’m traveling it’s a must product to carry on with me. Who would want to waste time on hair when in holiday :p Have you tried Batiste Dry Shampoo? Let me know which one is your favorite 🙂
