0

Sponsored Post. However, all opinions are mine.

I know you shop online, who doesn’t? And I also know all us online shopper love those deals to save some money. At least I do even if it’s just an impulse buy or stocking up the regular. I never forget to look for some deals or coupons. Trust me, you won’t realise the saving until you start using deals/coupons. The sum up will surprise you after a period of time. Today I’m here to tell you about one of my favourite place to look for coupons before you shop. I’m sure you know about Groupon. Have you heard of ?

Let me explain to you…
For the coming Christmas party, needless to mention, I needed a smexy yet sober dress but within my budget. Before hovering over any online store I hopped by Groupon to check who is offering a better deal. Noticed there are a few attractive . Especially the extra 50% off coupon convinced me. I liked a deep navy dress which was priced originally at $138. As because it’s holiday time so their normal markdown price of that dress was $104. However, with that extra 50% off deal, I was able to get the dress for only $52.

There is more…
I was looking for a red pump to go with my dress. My eyes got hooked on Steve madden shoe red Pamperd. That would cost me $100 if I wouldn’t look for coupons. I found a 20% off .
Party dance!

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

I find Groupon so easy and manageable because you need an account to avail these coupon codes. I can just browse through and click on the desired coupon. You must be wondering why would we need a coupon site when brands themselves send us newsletter of discounts and promotion. Just think, why bother pile up out mailbox when you have you one click destination for all shopping site.

Yes, you read it right. Groupon has covered all your needs. You can find Coupons of Target to Tripadvisor, Victoria Secret to Nordstrom, and Go Daddy to Wine Shop. Moreover, not only online shopping codes but there are coupons for in-store shopping as well.

Kat Von D Metal Matte EyeShadow Palette | Review & Swatch

Kat Von D Metal Matte EyeShadow Palette | Review & Swatch

Hello there? How’s your holiday goodies shopping going on? Grabbed all you wanted? Anything left yet? Have you got the Kat Von D Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette? If you haven’t then let me tell you, this is a must-have. In my judgment, this is the best eyeshadow palette of this year’s holiday collection. Why? First of all, I bet you don’t have an 11″ long palette in your collection. Yes, Kat Von D Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette is this big..haha the size of it gave me hard time capturing pics!

Kat Von D Metal Matte EyeShadow Palette

The Packaging of this palette is nothing extraordinary, a cardboard slim palette. Has KatVonD’s fascinating artwork in it and at the back you’ll find names of the shades and amount of product you’ll get in each pan. The palette is mega-sized which is interesting however, I’m not sure if I like this fact. Due to its size, it’s difficult to store, handle and undoubtedly travel-unfriendly. But whatever it is, I love it because of the actual product it offers.

Kat Von D Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette consist of 9 Metal Crush eyeshadow and 13 Matte eyeshadow. I always wanted to try Kat Von D’s Metal Crush Shadow formula. Love that 9 amazing shade comes with this palette. Her matte formula is also my favorite since I won the Interstellar palette. The palette also offers versatile undertone and finish, there are cool and warm, solid matte to satin and kinda glittery to fine glitter finish.

Metal shades here are simply Ah-mazing, each and everyone is super pigmented and consistent. All of them apply smoothly without any fallout and stays in place. They are vibrant and opaque in one swipe, blends with ease. The shade Nebula and Flash are my most favorite.

Mattes in this palette is not as consistent as metals are. Ribbon, Fringe, and bone are not as smooth and opaque as others are. And the white shade I find useless on my tan skin, I never actually used a white shade in my eyelid. Where the metals are good enough without a primer but matte shade in the palette needs a primer underneath to hold the opacity for a long time. I love the shade Velour and Moss the most among the mattes.

The look I created below using Kat Von D Metal Matte palette. I’ve used the shade Ignite in the inner corner, Ribbon in the lid, Velvet in the outer corner, Oak and Suede for my crease and Glitz mixed with Bone on my brow one area. I loved the outcome of this look.

Through this campaign, Follow Me hopes to raise funds through the sale of any of its Follow Me products, where with every RM10 spent on Follow Me products, RM1 will be donated to the Follow Me Buy & Donate Campaign fund. The funding will be used to help fund the household expenditure of the Rumah Caring Old Folks Home.

As a well-established home grown brand in Malaysia, we feel compelled to do our bit to contribute back to the society. I sincerely hope that this campaign would garner support from the public and together we can help raise funds to provide better nursing, health and logistic care to the old folks and disabilities here in Rumah Caring Kajang,” said Jessky Hah, Product Manager of Follow Me.

SIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next Level

0

Us, those who love doing makeup and has quite a lot (although no amount of brushes are enough) brushes in our collection often at the end of the week we face a brush cleaning fight. Don’t we? It’s always a battle to deep clean those delicate makeup tools as well as finding a proper cleanser that is kind and effective enough for brushes. I went through a lot of trials and fail with a variety of Makeup brush cleaner. When Sigma Beauty launched their Sigmagic Brushampoo last month, addressing that it is 100% natural and effectively deep cleanse I was very much excited to try the product out. Won’t deny, I wasn’t confident enough either that this will work the way it claims :p However, as because I’m a big fan of Sigma Brushes, I had that good hope as well.

A couple of weeks ago I got the Sigmagic Brushampoo in hand. It comes in a 150ml pump bottle. Love how convenient the packaging is. The pump helps to dispense just the right amount of product.

SIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next Level

Ingredients of Sigmagic Brushampoo by Sigma Beauty:

Sigmagic made of 100% natural ingredients as followed…

  • Deionized Water
  • Virgin Coconut Oil
  • Certified Sustainable Palm Oil
  • No Additives or Preservatives

Sigmagic Brushampoo claims to:

  • clean 100%
  • Breaks down build-up
  • no stiff residue
  • antimicrobial

Which means your brushes, especially those natural bristles one, will remain harm free from any harsh chemical and as clean as new.

Brush Cleaning To The Next Level

I was skeptical at the beginning. Thought this is just another brush shampoo with a bit higher price tag. I also expected a gelly-ish product inside. But turns out the Sigmagic Brushampoo has a water like consistency and no scent in it. When it touched it doesn’t feel soapy at all. But when I started swirling my dirty brush in it then it started its magic. I was surprised to see that it doesn’t require a lot of product either. 2 to 3 pump of the product is enough to clean a dirty foundation brush.

SIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next LevelSIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next Level

Till I got this I was religiously hooked with Daiso sponge cleaner to clean my all makeup tools. That is cheap, cleanse well but that was quite harsh. But Sigmagic turns out to be more effective with way too less effort and added care of brush health.

To start the cleaning process, I wet my brushes beforehand. Take 1 or 2 pumps directly in my Sigma Spa Glove and then swirl the brush softly over it. The shampoo dilutes the dirt almost instantly and starts lathering up. It takes less than a minute to clean all the makeup residue and their stain. Lastly, I simply rinse the brushes in the running water.

Sigmagic Brushampoo is also easy to rinse out. It doesn’t leave any foam or oily/stiff feeling in the bristles either. My brushes feel super soft and revived after their shower with Sigmagic Brushampoo.

SIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next LevelSIGMAGIC BRUSHAMPOO | Brush Cleaning To The Next Level

I’m completely impressed with the product. It takes a fraction of the time to deep clean my brushes than before. Additionally, I’m now cleaning my beauty blender with Sigmagic as well and it works perfectly. After all the brush shampoo is antibacterial as well.

Although, the shampoo felt a bit pricey at the beginning. Now, when I’m using it I realized I need just a little amount of product. Thus, this 150ml gonna last me for a long time. Therefore, the product is totally worth the price.

Overall, just the way I love sigma brushes fell in love with this new Sigma invention, Sigmagic Brushampoo aswell. I’ve never used a brush cleaner that gets rid of all pigment and makeup mess this fast and just with a tiny drop. It works surprisingly just the way it claims. Surely it is on my repurchase list and I highly recommend this if you haven’t tried it yet.

Althea LifeProof Box | No Subscription Beauty Box in Malaysia – Worth the Value?

10

Like me, those who live in a country where there is not beauty box subscription service, I assume, we all wonder what if we could get our hand on that Meme box, Ipsy box like things. Guess what, Althea has introduced their Beauty Box, with all full-size product, recently! And it’s more flexible because this Beauty Box is without any monthly subscription. You buy it if you want and can ignore if the box doesn’t fall info your like list. Sounds good enough?

I was sent Althea’s Limited Edition Life-Proof Box, lucky me, and this box is filled with all day to day long lasting makeup needs. Today’s post is about an initial thought of this Life-proof Beauty Box, its value comparison and the product I got in it.

Chica Y Chico Mat Fix Cushion:

Vhica Y Chico Matt Fix Cushion No 23Vhica Y Chico Matt Fix Cushion No 23Vhica Y Chico Matt Fix Cushion No 23

I absolutely love the look of this cushion compact. It feels amazing as well. Only I wish the shade would match my skin tone …phew! Please dear Althea, make some tawny face product available for us tan girls :/

Rire Lip Powder:

Rire Lip Powder - Fashion Red

This is an interesting lip product, a lipstick in a powder form. In the pot it’s powder when applied it feels wet, kinda jelly like and when dried it appears matte. The pot is small, the applicator is comfortable and the product is fairly pigmented. No complaint on staying power either (just alike a normal lipstick and doesn’t transfer much. Rire lip powder has buildable pigmentation, you can wear a soft touch of colour or opaque lip.

Swatch on my lip below…

Rire Lip powder and Rire Luxe Gel Brow Tatoo

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Rire Luxe Gel Tatoo:

Referring to the picture above, have a close look on my brows. My brows aren’t drawn or so but can you see the nice shaped tint? It’s all because of this Brow tattoo gel thingy. and the picture was taken next day of application, after a shower.

Rire Luxe Gel TatooRire Luxe Gel Tatoo

Brow tattoos are quite new to me. In fact, when I got this product I thought it’s an eyeliner, I missed reading the box. I used it as an eyeliner, apparently got disappointed by the fat wand and its stickiness! how stupid of me!

Later I found out it’s a temporary brow tattoo. You apply it on brows and wipe it off when dry. I was surprised by the outcome I got(my face pic above). It’s the third day now after using the tattoo thingy and my brow tint is still intact there. However, I guess the tint won’t last more than a week. Nonetheless, now I’ve pretty much perfect brows in my home aswell…haha. Loving this product.

It’s My Bong Cealer:

It's My Bong Cealer - Cool BornIt's My Bong Cealer - Cool BornIt's My Bong Cealer - Cool Born

A twist pen type concealer with nice and thick pigmentation in it. Sadly this shade doesn’t go with my tan skin thus couldn’t make any use of it. This cool born shade, I believe, will match fair to bright medium skin tone.

A’Pieu Mineral HD Powder:

Apieu Mineral Hd Powder | Beauty Box Malaysia

This is a lightweight translucent powder that you set your foundation/concealer with. I like the texture of it, silky and smooth and super mattifying. This powder reminds me one of my favourite drugstore powder, Essence All About Matte Powder which is sadly been discontinued.

Etude House Face Conditioning Fixer:

Etude House Face Conditioning Fixing SprayEtude House Face Conditioning Fixing Spray

This fixing spray is my most favourite product of this box. Let me tell you first, this is not a makeup setting spray but fixing spray. A fixing spray you can use before to hydrate face or after makeup to get rid of powderiness.

You get an 80ml, full-size bottle. Fixing sprays are the thing that I can’t live without when it comes to makeup. I’m all the way hooked with MAC Fix+ and now this one giving me a new hope. Etude House Face Conditioning Fixer has a sweet scent in it, keeps the face hydrated, pwder free and the spritzer acts decently aswell.

Chica Y Chico Sheet Mask + It’s My Magic Sponge:

Chica Y Chico Whitening Sheet Mask and It's My Magic Sponge | No Subscription Beauty BoX Malaysia

A sheet mask in a beauty box, quite a wise thought, right? End of the day after removing all made up face a 15 minutes sheet mask session to revive the face is must the face, no?

The sponge is a basic beauty sponge and quite stiff to work with. I like a flexible and soft sponge for my makeup thus this type doesn’t fall into my preference.

Olay Regenerist ADVANCED Anti-aging | 28 days VS years of age sign?

0

You guys have seen me indulging enough on K-beauty skin care items, no? Recently I opted back to the good old skincare brand name ‘Olay’. Very soon I’m going to cross my late 20s, hence the term ‘anti-aging’ is now the biggest concern of mine. Those pesky signs of aging are surely the first things I want to push back; after all, who doesn’t want to look young as long as possible! Thanks to Olay Malaysia for bringing me back to the old (is gold) skin care strategy.
I received 3 skincare items, Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, Micro-Sculpting Cream – Day & Night, from the Olay Regenerist range for my review. Each of them is specially curated (based on P&G clinical studies between 2006 to 2012) as an advanced anti-aging product and promises to reduce years of age sign within just 28 days.

Let me tell you how I find them…

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence

Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-essence

Ingredients:
Water, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, PEG-32, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Dimethiconol, Disodium EDTA, Inositol, Isopropyl Isostearate, Sodium Metabisulfite, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-100 Stearate, Fragrance, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Morus Alba Root Extract, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, PVM/MA Copolymer, Sodium PEG-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, Lilium Candidum Flower Extract, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract.

First thing first, this is the one I love the most among all three products. Olay Miracle Boost Youth Pre-essence is literally a punch of hydration. It is enriched with Morus Alba Root Extract, Honeysuckle Flower extract that helps to re-energize skin instantly. The bottle comes with a pump dropper, which makes it super convenient to dispense the product.

It’s a pre-essence which means if you’re using any essence in your skincare routine then this one is to be used before that. I use it after cleansing and toning, morning and night (sometimes middle of the day) every day. One dropper dose each time is enough for face and neck. Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence has a silky smooth texture which I enjoy every time I massage it into my skin. The fluid rapidly absorbs and penetrates into the skin so it is ready for the next skincare product.

After the pre-essence, I follow up with my moisturizer/night cream.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Moisturiser

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Niacinamide, Isopropyl Isostearate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Nylon-12, Dimethicone, Panthenol, Stearyl Alcohol, Polyethylene, Cetyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Mica, Mythyparaben, Ethylparaben, Allantoin, Dimethiconol, Polyacrylamide, fragrance, PEG-100 Stearate, Propylparaben, Stearic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Sodium Peg-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, C12-13 Pareth-3, Laureth-7, Peucedanum Graveolens (Dill) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4

The Micro-Sculpting Moisturizer has a thick silky consistency but it glides on and absorbs into the skin like a dream. Seeing the thickness first time I got a bit skeptical since it’s been long I tried anything like that. However, the moisturizer eventually impressed me since the first use. After application, my skin feels literally oil-free, perfectly balanced, locked with hydration (Sodium Hyaluronate is there after all), and visibly radiant.

It has a very mild but sweet scent in it which I find refreshing. After two weeks of use, I feel my skin texture has improved day by day without any side effects. Additionally, I find the moisturizer actually works great as a primer under my makeup.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream

olay-regenerist-night

Ingredients:
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Polyethylene, Polyacrylamide, Tocopheryl Acetate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, DMDM Hydantoin, Allantoin, Laureth-4, Dimethiconol, Laureth-7, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer , Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PEG-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, Disodium EDTA, Peucedanum Graveolens (Dill) Extract, Citric Acid, PEG-100 Stearate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream has a gel-like texture, slightly thicker that usual gel creams. This night cream claims to provide noticeably firm skin in 5 nights and reduction of lines and wrinkles within 2 weeks.

It reminds me more of a sleeping mask, which is fast absorbing, glides easily, oil-free, leaves no greasiness and locks hydration till the night ends. The cream also has a faint sweet scent in it, which I love. I love how pumped and soft my skin feels when I wake up and wash my face every morning. I feel even if I have overly dry skin (I have dry-combination skin), along with the Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, this night cream is just good enough to provide the necessary goodness for my skin.

End Thought:

I’ve been suffering from tiny, almost microscopic, rashes on the side of my right cheek bone for a year now. Can’t remember exactly when and how I got those pesky little things there. I went through a lot of skincare items so far yet nothing made any difference on their existence. Unbelievably, just when I thought they are never going to go away, these rashes have disappeared within these two weeks! Right now I have an almost flawlessly smooth face (happy dance). I swear I’m not exaggerating a tiny bit.

Lastly,

  • Improves skin texture [checked]✅
  • Noticeably firm and radiant skin [checked]✅

… I’m looking forward to the ultimate benefit, reduction of fine lines! I’ll be more than happy even if they only keep my fine lines under control, after all, I’ve been using these products for only two weeks now and fine lines definitely need time. In short, Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Ageing range impressed me completely. It’s pleasing to find something completely oil-free, hydrating and with anti-ageing benefits.

Do I recommend them??? …Without a second thought.
I think three of these products does the magic together, most of all, the Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence is a must to incorporate with any of the two creams.

LUSH Angels On Bare Skin is a clay-based (kaolin) cleanser. There is also a visible amount of ground almond and a bunch of lavender buds which makes this cleanser a great natural exfoliator as well. The product in the pot feels like cookie dough and its smells kinda cookie dough with a hint of lavender and of course there is the scent of almond. The scent is not strong but very fresh and nature-like. Absolutely love it!

I use this cleanser in the morning only. To activate the cleanser I take literally a pea (or two) size of product and few drops of water in my palm. mix and make a generously thick paste. Once the product is in contact with water it melts easily and forms milky kinda paste. You can control the consistency of the paste just the way you want. I wet my face beforehand and then apply the cleanser paste. I take a full minute or so to massage my face then rinse off and pat dry. Follow up with my toner and moisturizer.

LUSH Angles On Bare SKin

LUSH Angels On Bare Skin is an excellent natural cleanser and exfoliator at the same time. It effectively cleanses dirt and oils from my morning face leaving skin soft and supple, lifts up my mood at the same time. There was never been any dryness or skin issue occurred by this cleanser.

However, LUSH Angels On Bare Skin is a just natural cleanser and falls in the grade ‘super mild’. I must admit this not any nearly effective cleanser for the other time of the day. It’s completely unable to cleanse even light makeup from the face. In the morning we usually don’t have anything in our face apart from the residue of serums or sleeping mask. So for that time we can actually love, rely and get benefited by some natural cleanser like this one.

Another part, this is also a great one for the body. When I take a bath I love to enjoy its creaminess and gentle exfoliation. I personally enjoy its natural goodness every time I use this cleanser. I don’t mind to take the hassle of mixing it and all but I find it kinda indulging on natural goodness. This is a great product for them who loves a natural product and can relate to my thinking. Additionally, I think this is a good cleanser for sensitive skin that can’t stand harsh chemical.
