Beauty Favourites Of The Month | March’15

44

Hello Everyone!

As March is at its end its time to share my beauty favourites from the month, those all beauty products that Ive been loving specially in this month. Though in this month it was tough to shortlist them but finally I ended up picking six beauty product as my ultimate pick of march.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Lets start talking about them…
Beauty favourites

Organix Fortifying Lavender Soymilk Shampoo(40RM):

If you are reading me regularly then you know since I’m here in Malaysia I’ve been struggling keeping my scalp oil free until I started using this shampoo. Organix Fortifying Lavender Soymilk Shampoo just blown me off with its goodness from first use. My hair never felt so good and squeaky clean before. It smells so fresh and its gel like texture gets into every hair strand without any effort. It makes my hair completely frizz and oil free, restores amazing healthy shine every time I was my hair using this shampoo. I’m already in my second bottle and I’m sure its gonna be a repurchase over and over.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser(30RM):
Last couple of month my skin was acting very unusual. I was having sensitivity issue, rashes and acne. I couldn’t use my regular OXY Pure White Facewash(read here…) anymore, I had to find something that is mild and kind to skin. I got happy from the first use of Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser. Its a gel based cleanser but when you dispense the product out it comes as foam. The product is really mild and hydrating to skin as well as cleanse nicely. If you have sensitive skin issue I definitely recommend this yet if you have normal skin then this cleanser might be a bit too mild for you.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser(20RM):
A budget moisturiser packed with all that goodness you need. I can’t explain how much I have been enjoying this moisturiser. Its so refreshing, hydrating, non-greasy and of course kind to skin as it claims. I think this is a very much suitable moisturiser for every skin type.

Soap&Glory Hand Food:

Who doesn’t love to have soft and moist hand? And for that a hand cream is must. This month I have been loving Soap&Glory hand cream for my hands. Its has that buttery smooth texture and soothing smell, works excellent on keeping hand plumped. Apology that I forgot the price.

Catrice Eebrow Set(18RM):

This brow kit comes with two shaded of brow powder, a small spoolie brush and a tweezer. I loved it more for the shades it contains, a deeper and a lighter brown that is not red-ish but perfect for brows.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara(95RM):
I have been madly loving this mascara ever since I was introduced. In my experience, no mascara has given this kind of lash lift that it gives. Im literally forgetting my lash curler these days. Click (here… and here…) to read full review on Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara.

So, those are a few of my favourite products from the month of march. If you want to know a little more details of any then let me know. Also get involved in the comment box below and let me know what you have been enjoying in March 🙂

Bath And Body Works | Small Haul

40

Whenever I go near Bath And Body Works I have to go inside and roam around for a while only because their store smells divine. It’s not always I purchase something, but I love that shop. Bath And Body Works is fairly new here in Malaysia and I was so happy when they opened a new store (The Curve) close to my home. But again I only find myself getting hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works because they are quite overpriced here in Malaysia than the USA. Yes, they always have some deals like one sanitizer for 9RM and five for 30RM, one lotion for 29RM but three for 60RM. So if you buying a single product then you gonna have to pay more. Tricky, huh?!

However, a couple of weeks ago I made a small purchase from Bath And Body Works, thought to share that with you all. Obviously getting a new sanitizer was a must as always, I got Aqua Blossom this time. There was an exception this time, I got overly impressed by their sugar hand scrub (review here) while I was trying it in store. This True Blue Spa sugar scrub smells just like candy and gives that luxurious spa feeling to hand. I simply couldn’t resist getting one after trying it. This scrub retails at 58RM, pricey for a 5oz product but totally worth it in my opinion. I have been using and loving the scrub ever science I got it. Soon I’ll post a detailed review on it 🙂

LA Splash Lip Couture | Review & Swatch

62

Probably you have already noticed there is a huge liquid lipstick wave flowing everywhere. Every brand has or even if they don’t yet they are coming up with their liquid lipstick range. I also kinda love liquid lipstick because of their long lasting formula. Today I’ll be reviewing LA Splash Lip Couture Liquid lipstick.

You might have already noticed this brand, LA Splash is widely available in Bangladesh. I’m already a fan of this brand, their eye glitters are amazing. However, since their lip couture swatch is everywhere especially on Instagram I was really keen to try them. It wasn’t easy for me to get my hands on those lip product as I’m living in Malaysia now and it’s not available here. As soon as I heard that they are available in shops(Bangladesh) I did manage to get them somehow. There was some other color in my wish list but it turned out there are only a few limited shades(mostly red and pink) available in Bangladesh. I found only one from my wish list which is Untamed and picked Hidden Desire as an additional one.

LA Splash Lip CoutureLA Splash Lip CoutureLA Splash Lip Couture

LA Splash Lip Couture retailed at BDT450/- in Bangladesh where in the USA it’s approx $12. Their packaging is quite basic, actually, they look good in the picture because of that accent gold top but in reality that gold part feels tacky. The sponge tip applicator is basic in quality as well. Shade is written in the bottom on a plastic sticker and there is a waterproof striker on top! Do you find anything fancy in packaging? I don’t!

LA Splash Lip Couture

Swatches of LA Splash Lip Couture Untamed & Hidden Desire:

LA Splash Lip Couture

LA Splash Lip Couture

Untamed is a reddish brown, very deep and rich color. If I talk about only this shade Untamed then guys, I’m so in love with this particular shade. It’s so classic and can be a dupe of many high-end lip shades that are already very popular. This one applies to my lips smoother than the other one and stayed budge-free for the whole day even after having Nasi Goreng for lunch.

LA Splash Lip CoutureLA Splash Lip Couture

The shade Hidden desire is a blue toned, almost purplish pink; quite a flattering shade to wear. This one also applies nicely as you can see from the first picture but somehow it takes ages to dry and even after drying when I touched my both lips together they just smeared. I tried to wear them three times but the same thing happens every time. I assume there must be some issue with this exact lip product I have or with this color formula. There was no way I could wear it out.

Let’s talk about the overall quality of this lipstick. I swear I was way too much excited when I got them. The way people were barking(!!!) about these that did make me insane too. LA Splash Lip Couture claims to be waterproof, yes they are. They claim to last all day, yes he does. They claim to have opaque pigmentation, yes they have. Yet I’m frustrated, why? I went through a lot of reviews before buying them, never seen anyone saying a word what I’m going to say now.

Both of these LA Splash Lip Couture I’ve smells like raw paint or some kind of chemical and that is so damn strong that I never experienced in any other cosmetics before. 80% of smell goes away when the product is dry but that 20% stays there. That smell is more than enough to give you a bad feeling. They are so uncomfortable to wear. You will not forget about lipstick after applying(what a liquid lipstick suppose to do) but for the whole day, they will keep you aware of a feeling that your lips are shrinking so you can imagine how drying they are. And lastly, they are extremely hard to remove, yes they do come off with oil but there is that weird after feeling.  After removing them I felt my lips were tortured somehow and that feeling last for a couple of hours, trust me!

Now, the facts I mentioned if that’s not a fact to you then these products are fantastic for their price.  They apply beautifully and once they are on so they are on, except ‘Hidden Desire’ of course. My feeling isn’t really good towards them so of course I will not buy anymore and will not recommend anyone either but neither I will say you shouldn’t buy. Different people have different taste and different point of views you know. The decision is yours 🙂

MACxToledo Lipstick Sin Review & Swatch | MAC Malaysia Online Shopping

MAC Malaysia Online ShoppingMACxToledo Lipstick Sin

I want to talk a bit about my shopping experience with MAC Malaysia Online. This was my fist online purchase with them. MACxToledo collection was available to purchase online 2days earlier than shop so I thought to take the chance to get my products earlier and that way I also could avoid the chances of experiencing ‘out of stock’. As stated in their website I was suppose to get delivery within two to five working days. I placed my order in thursday midnight just after the collection appeared in website. I was really hoping to get the delivery by tuesday. However, that didn’t happen the way I expected. On next monday I got mail from MAC saying the order was just received and after long wait of eight days I received my delivery in friday. This was really upsetting. Its not that I live in east-Malaysia that it could take that much time and actually I live in the same place where the MAC warehouse is. However, apart from this delay everything was fine. I did receive my product safely just one regret that I could get that way more earlier if I went to shop. Next time I will remember that fact for sure.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Let’s talk about the product I got…

Isabel and Ruben Toledo lend their vibrant eye for fashion and art to a collection of irreverent colour designed to inspire endless play.

This limited edition Isabel and Ruben Toledo collection came up with quite a huge variety of product from lipstick to nail polish to eye shadows and many more. This collections signature packaging is definitely the major fact that can impress anyone’s mind. Needless to mention I was drawn to packaging more than the actual product. I’m simply loving that simple white with soft and sober touch of art, the high quality of packaging material is also represent luxury.

My collector mind couldn’t resist to lust for one at least. There was a major influence of red shade in this collection specially in their lipstick which doesn’t go with my taste. Only one lipstick ‘Oxblood’, a nude, was there to pick but that is quite similar to MAC’s another shade ‘Kinda Sexy’ which I already have so that didn’t attract me either. After lot of debating with own I decided to pick the lipstick Sin. Yes thats a red and already in MAC’s permanent line but that shade was missing my collection so I thought this is the right time to have that rich red with a signature packaging.

MACxToledo Lipstick SinMACxToledo Lipstick Sin

The MACxToledo Lipstick Sin is a matte formula yet creamy enough to give you moisturised feeling on lip. If you are familiar with MAC’s matte formula then you already know their lasting power will surely meet your satisfactory level.  The colour Sin is a deep blood red, almost close to maroon or I can say burgundy but its somewhat different than that. The more you layer the lipstick the more it gets deeper in color. This shade was in my wish list for long, I’m always hesitant of reds but now I’m happy that I finally picked it up.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]MACxToledo Lipstick Sin

Summer is on the door, this is so not a season to wear such deep lip shade but I think there is no time barrier to wear a retro look. isn’t it? What about you? Have you picked any or waiting for any upcoming collection?

Coffee Chat And New Hair Cut

6

Coffee Chat | GreenStoryblog.com

So, if I look back to last couple of weeks then it is obvious that I’m regularly irregular in my blog. Why? I was maybe thinking more than working in real. Probably I was not feeling well much to jazz up my thoughts in screen. It can be the tiering hot weather here that sucks up all my inspiration to work. Or its just the me looking for an excuse.

However, past couple of weeks its not been raining really. Weather is frying hot and humidity is really low here in Malaysia. I feel dehydrated and tired all the time. Only at night I kinda feel good but then I can’t sit and work for blog. I’m really taking care of my bed time these days. Otherwise I know I’ll caught some serious sickness. May be I should have consult with doctor by now but I am the women from third world, I grown up learning not to care about health much! Am I sound ridiculous?

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Apart from physical issue I’m also into some makeup dilemma and that causing me lot of pain, I mean mental dissatisfaction. Someone might think why the hell I’m even thinking about that, there is whole lot of valuable stuff in this world to think about. But dear, thats where my personal interest lies. What happened is, I was so much into ‘makeup that not looks makeup’ for last six month. I swear I did and still doing lot of work to achieve such result, needless to say my skill did improve but not in that exact point. Last week my interest made me taking part of a makeup workshop conducted by Laura Mercier which was mainly focused on base makeup of course. Thats where I became so doubtful about my skill and what I was trying to achieve ever since. In one sense thanks God that I attended that workshop otherwise I wouldn’t have any idea what skill an actual makeup artist holds in her hand. Other hand right now I’m so frustrated about my own makeup. Yes, I’m definitely not stopping right here. I have to develop my skill solely for me and I was already been practicing this whole week. Certainly I’ll be mastering(at least something close) up on that particular side very soon but the confusion is I’m forgetting what my reader/follower actually likes to see, that high volume of makeup shake up you know what I mean.

Well, enough of blabbering! Seems I’ll keep writing to an endless point.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]
asymmetrical bob

Experimented with another thing this week as you can already see. Got a new hair cut!

Other night I was just lying on bed, chatting with my girlfriends and listening to Taylor Swift then this holy(!) thought came up in my mind. I asked my friend how it will be if I cut my hair short, she was like ‘umm okey’. Yes obviously, for some unknown reason no one will inspire you if you talk about cutting your hair short. Yet that thought was settled in my freaking mind and I went to saloon just next day and got Asymmetrical Bob. Last time I cut my hair short 4/5 year back, this time it is more shorter and more exciting. Our life is short after all, there is no point of keeping same style all the way, we definitely should experiment, isn’t it? And it will eventually grow longer within 2/3 month.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

….. Well well, this coffee chat ends here because my coffee mug is empty already.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal | Review & Swatch

60

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Last year in October I brought bunch of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal from India. Mainly that was for to stock them up because I’m an old fan of Lakme Eyeconic kajal in black. That time along with black one I also got Blue, Grey and White to try. I was suppose to write this review long time ago but the lazy me and time management hold be back till now!

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Apart from this four color there is also two more color green and brown of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal available in market. They claims to be long wearing up to 10 hour, smudge proof, waterproof and dermatologically tested.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Packaging of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal is very random like all other twist up liner. Every pencil contains .35g of product.
Among all budget Kajal available in market Lakme is my favourite. First reason, they are very smooth to apply compare to others. They glide on supper easily in waterline and with one/two swipe I get that perfect opaque color.

Lakme Eyeconic KajalLakme Eyeconic Kajal

About the shades I got, as I mentioned before black is my favourite always. Some people find this black isn’t black enough but it’s completely fine with me. I die on its smoothness mainly. White one is another best white kajal that I have experienced so far. None of the white kajal/liner I have used so far stayed in my water line with full opacity but this one. I find the blue one little bit disappointing in terms of color. This blue is almost close to black not that deep navy blue I expected. Grey one appears to be blue-ish grey with opaque pigmentation.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Lakme claims these liners to be smudge proof but they are not. As you can see from the picture above they does smudge with of course strong effort. They do last long in eyes if you don’t touch them. I wore these liner up to 6/7 hour and they stayed put all the way. These liner also turned to be safe in sensitive eyes like mine, they didn’t occur any allergic issue. Taking them off isn’t hard either but if you want to wear them in waterline then you might need to use a good remover to take them off.

Overall, I love Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. I already went through few of black one and will repurchase that again for sure. At least for me they are the best budget kajal available in market. I highly recommend them if you haven’t tried one yet.

Availability:
These are widely available in India ( RS 200) and Bangladesh (BDT450/-).
In Malaysia selected Guardian Carries whole range of lame product. Lakme Eyeconic Kajal retails here in Malaysia for 20RM.

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette | Review, Photos, Swatches

52

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette [wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Who doesn’t love Cinderella and her story? I’m no different 🙂
I guess you already know MAC released their Cinderella collection last week with so many new product inspired by the movie Cinderella and the actual character. I picked up MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette, retails for $44/190RM, only from that collection.

In my opinion this collection is solely a collectors item with such beautiful baby blue and gold accent packaging yet product variety isn’t really attractive enough. I found this shadow palette functional only that I could use for real.

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette [wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette contains following 6 shades:

*Vapour: Peach pink with violet pearl (Velvet Finish)
*Omega: Soft gutted beige taupe (Matte Finish)
*Satin Taupe: Taupe with silver shimmer (Frost Finish)
*Phloof: Frosted off-white (Frost Finish)
*Quarry: Soft muted plum brown (Matte Finish)
*Stroke Of Midnight: Deep purple with pink sparkly specks (Velvet Finish)

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow PaletteMAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

MAC Cinderella Stroke Of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette is a palette with 6 natural-tone shade that can come handy for everyday use. Five shade here is from MAC’s permanent line and only the last shade ‘Stroke Of Midnight’ is new, which is a deep dark purple with sparkly particle in it. The shade ‘Stroke Of Midnight’ looks very alluring in pan however when applied its turns out kind of blackish purple. At first I thought Stroke Of Midnight is going to be my favourite shade but after using them I fell in love with Satin Taupe and Quarry. All shades there applies beautifully though, I have no complain with their pigmentation or else.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

This was my first time trying MAC shadows so for me this palette was perfect because I’m getting to experience their permanent shadows and a new one with this limited edition beautiful packaging. It is also a complete palette because shadows here has variety of finish(matte, velvet and frost) that can complete any look within this palette.

I’m loving this palette because technically all shades here are new to me yet for someone who already have those permanent shades as a limited edition this palette can be a disappointment.
