Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette | UD Eyeshadows Are Creating That VICE Vibe Once Again

52

Hello there beautiful, how are you doing??? Going enough with the flow of holiday shopping? Well, yeh I’ve been doing that quite a bit… thus today I here to talk about Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette.

It’s been kinda regular that every year Urban Decay will launch a new version of Vice Palette and that will be as unique and eye-catching as nothing else. I did get that last year’s Vice Palette (review & swatches here…) and with the flow, I had to get this year’s one as well. But it’s not only about the trend, But Vice palettes are also actually worth to get your hands on.

Without rambling, let’s get into my thoughts on this Vice 4 eyeshadow palette.

As always, the packaging is beautiful this year (the picture above) or I should say this year UD did the best packaging for Vice. The spidery design and holographic color will steal anyone’s mind. But girl those tricky corners of the wave catches a lot of dust inside and that is hard to clean, not a complain yet I do feel disturbed because of this sometimes.

The box also comes with a pouch (which I’m not really fancy about), a big mirror on the opener flap, and a dual-ended brush.

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette comes with 20 shade of eyeshadow, most of them are jewel-toned (some has chunky glitter in it), a few are satin and matte in finish. Green shades and a couple of light shade here in this palette aren’t my favorites but other than that I love the color selection.

Glittery shades here feel very appropriate for party makeup and matte shades here fit perfectly for any look.

I have to turn the focus on to the quality, this year Urban Decay did an excellent job in maintaining the quality of these shadows. Unlike last year’s Vice palette, there is none that feels powdery and creates fall out, although the shade ‘Grip’ gives zero pigmentation without primer.

Let me give you a closer look at the shades and their swatches…

First row

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow swatch

From left to right:

  • Bones: A greyish cream shade, satin finish.
  • Grip: A light grey, has gold micro glitter in it. Without primer, it doesn’t show up on my skin at all.
  • Deadbeat: A blackened grey, has multi-color micro glitter in it.
  • Beat Down: A deep navy blue with a violet undertone, shimmery finish
  • Pandemonium: A purple-ish plum with micro glitter

Second Row

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow swatch

From left to right:

  • Framed: A light peach, matte in finish
  • Fast Ball: A metallic Pinky-peach. This shade is just like Makeup Geek’s new duo-chrome shadow ‘Mai Tai’ except the chrome effect.
  • 1985: Hot pink with a blue undertone, satin finish
  • Underhand: A metallic burgundy with a lilac undertone
  • Harlot: A pale metallic lavender

Third Row of Urban Decay Vice 4

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow swatch

From left to right:

  • Discreet: A dusty mauve, matte in finish.
  • Grasshopper: Bright metallic green.
  • C-Note: A rusty metallic green with silver-tone and micro glitter.
  • Arctic: A metallic sea green or simply teal. I found it quite similar to MakeupGeek foiled eyeshadow ‘Pegasus’ (review & swatch here…), maybe the Arctic is just a bit more in the green side.
  • Robbery: A brownish gunmetal, purely metallic.

Fourth Row

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow swatch

From left to right:

  • Bitter: A matte warm brown with strong red hue. This shade reminds me of Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear (review & Swatch here…), they are identically similar.
  • Flame: A coral-orange with sparkly micro glitter
  • Low: A muted brown with visibly large glitter
  • Crowbar: A blackened warm brown (somehow there is green tone) with chunky gold glitter and micro-sparkle
  • Delete: A deep taupe with a warm red hue, matte in finish

I tried to point out a few of my favorite shade but it turns out I love most of them. They all give generous (except Grip, 2nd one from the left, in the first row) pigmentation without primer, with primer they are fantastic. Moreover, if you apply them wet then they are beyond words. All of them feel creamy in texture and blends seamlessly (Low and Crowbar might need a bit of work because of their chunky glitter).

I’ve been wearing them one by one since I got the palette and I can say this palette alone offers a hundred different look to play with.

The look below I wore for a night out recently created using Urban Decay Vice 4 palette. I applied BITTER in the crease and ROBBERY in my lid. In the outer corner, I softly touched DEADBEAT, used BONESones in my brow bone and in the tear duct area. I was in the rush that day, went through my eye very quickly yet loved how beautifully every shadow performed!

Urban Decay Vice 4 makeup

In a nutshell, for the packaging, color selection and shadow quality of Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette makes it a great edition to every makeup lover’s collection. Not only for collection but it is more than appropriate for any occasion. However, it is not a cake for glitter/jewel tone heaters.

MAC Holiday Collection ’15 | Enchanted Eve & Magic Of The Night

42

Magic of the night is out in the world, have you heard the news??? Yes, yes, I’m talking about the latest MAC holiday collection.

End of October MAC released their 2015 holiday collection here in Malaysia (though the collection was out many places quite a while ago). I was lucky enough to be the guest of the launch party and as usual, I couldn’t manage to share the news right away here in the blog but if are with me in my social media then you already saw the glimpse.

Better late than never, writing today to spread the magic of the night, I mean about the latest MAC holiday collection. Actually Magic Of The Night is just a part (but the main focus) of the whole holiday collection, there are many other products. I’ll talk about them later but let me talk about the hit list first…

MAC Magic Of The Night Collection

So, as you can see in the picture above, Magic Of The Night comes with four lipstick, five eyeshadow, two highlighters, two lip and two eye pencil. All these product offers a colourful (blue, teal and purple) limited edition packaging.

Eyeshadows in this collection are actually colourdrenched pressed pigment ($22|RM94). They called (from left to right):

  • No Taboos; a blackened greyish blue
  • Moon is Blue; a pure royal blue
  • Ascent of Glamour; a violet with strong blue undertone
  • Tonight’s the Night; a deep blackened teal
  • Night Thrill; gold shimmer

Eye pencils ($17.50|RM85) are:

  • Petrol Blue; deep navy with pearl finish
  • Black Swan; black with pearl finish

Lip pencils ($17.50|RM81) are:

  • Nightmoth; blackened plum
  • Redd; a bright red

Lipsticks ($18| RM87) are:

  • All Fired Up; bright fuchsia (Retro Matte)
  • Evening Rendezvous; deep reddish purple (Matte and a new shade)
  • Dark Side; deep burgundy (Amplified)
  • Please Me; Muted rosy pink (Matte)

Mac Magic Of The Night Lipstick Collection

Now the highlighters ($33|RM119) in extra dimension skinfinish are the bomb of this collection.

  • Oh, Darling; metallic gold
  • Shaft of Gold; deep bronze

MAC Magic Of The Night Highlighter

I skipped ‘Shaft Of Gold’ because I already have a couple of deeps bronze highlighter but I have been eagerly waiting to get ‘Oh, Darling’, it has that perfect gold finish that is suitable for any skin tone.

MAC Oh Darling Highlighter

The limited edition blue packaging is undoubtedly eye-catching, apart from that the product itself is a masterpiece. ‘In extra dimension finish’ means it’s not with chunky glitter, but some kind of buttercream (quite hard for me to explain the goodness in words) finish. When applied and blended it just melts into skin and give the look that is glowing from within. Not to mention the highlighter blends effortlessly and lasts throughout the day.

I have been already wearing ‘Oh, Darling’ ever since I got it in hand. A quick swatch of the highlighter below:
MAC Oh Darling Highlighter Swatch

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

MAC Holiday Collection '15

Now let’s talk about other product that MAC is offering in their holiday’15 collection. Trust me, there is a huge variety of product that I could possibly remember! There is a couple of glitter/pigment set, lip product set, eye product set and of-course brush set. All of them comes with sets, all those sets has different names, all are in limited edition  packaging and for extra attraction all those sets comes in a beautiful limited edition clutch/zip bag. I guess these are specially meant for gifting, a gift for your loved one or maybe just a gift from you to you. You must check out MAC outlet to know about these gift set collection.

Well, I got (courtesy of MAC) the MAC Enchanted Eve Eye ($42|RM305) set although I believe there some product difference (I have two eyeshadow, a fluidline and I’m not sure if the mascara I got is a full size one or just a deluxe sample) from the actual set that is on sale. However, thought to show you guys so you can have some idea if you’re interested to get anything.

MAC Holiday Collection '15

I love the zip bag it comes with, it has a very special touch of their holiday theme yet the bag is only useful as a makeup bag. My most favorite from this bag is the mascara and the brush. The extended play lash mascara has the thinnest wand that I’ve ever seen so far and really been enjoying it for lower lash line. The brush is a dual ended brush, one side is a flat shader brush another side is a liner brush. Love the quality of the brush and I feel it will be a handy one for traveling.

MAC Holiday Collection '15MAC Brush

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

MAC Eye Shadow

The eyeshadow Brule is an off-white shade with satin finish, the shade somehow feels powdery to me. Another one is called Sable, a plum-ish brown with the frost finish, has great pigmentation and lasting power and I’m loving this shade a lot at the moment.

MAC Fluidline

The fluidline Dipdown is a flat brown, gets a bit deeper when dries. I love the creaminess of this product and it also last long in my eyelid without fading its intensity.

Swatches of the shadows and fluidline below:MAC Cosmetics

So, this was my recent haul from MAC holiday collection, hoping not to buy any more (tired of my clumped up dresser, trust me but there is always the ‘makeup lover’ problem so who knows! ha ha). If you ask me for a recommendation then girl you must get ‘Oh, Darling’ highlighter, it’s the best natural looking yet spectacular gold highlighter I’ve ever come across.

…. Just wondering, have you already got anything from this latest MAC collection? Do share in the comment box below…. you know we love makeup talk 🙂

DocLab Face Ampoule | splash of Hyaluronic Acid for skin to prevent wrinkle

22

This month I have been trying out a box of DocLab Face Ampoule. A skincare product with high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid definitely something new to me. Not to mention, at the age on late 20s when you started having facial lines, anything with anti-aging benefit will attract you for sure because you don’t want those pesky lines to settle down in your face.

DocLab Face Ampoule

What is DocLab Face Ampoule?

Ampoules are actually airtight glass container (we often see these little bottles in the hospital, don’t we?) filled with a concentration of highly active ingredients without any preservatives or such other chemical. There are many face ampoules in the market target for the different skin issues. Just like the belif Prime Infusion Ampoules, I shared about.

But of course, I’m going to share about DocLab Face Ampole here in this post.

What DocLab says about the Ampoule:

DocLab’s Hyaluronic Acid Face Ampoule is one of the best ampoule you can find in Malaysia. This ampoule is formulated in South Korea and is also certified by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health.

DocLab Face Ampoule helps to boost skin moisture and deep hydration with our Hyaluronic Acid technology. With Collagen and Ginseng Extract as ingredients, our Ampoule able to restore skin suppleness, elasticity, retexturize skin and suppleness, making your skin smooth and protecting your skin from excessive chemical from other cosmetic products.

In short,
-Skin moisture boost and deep hydration with Hyaluronic Acid
-Restore skin suppleness and elasticity with Collagen
-Retexturizes skin, smoothes fine lines and reduce wrinkles with Ginseng Extract
-Natural antioxidant and skin protection with Vitamin E
-Powerful skin whitening and lightening with Arbutin
-Skin soothing and refining with Witch Hazel Extract and Aloe Vera Leaf Extract

These ampoules are made of natural ingredients, alcohol-free, paraben free, silicone free and animal ingredients free.

DocLab Face Ampoule

Things You should know about DocLab Ampoule:

Before talking about the product, I would like to say a few words on Hyaluronic Acid as because this is the main active ingredient in this ampoule.

Hyaluronic Acid (anything acid sounds harsh, isn’t it?) is a powerful moisture binding ingredient that is kind to skin and helps to keep skin plumped, hydrated and young-looking. Hyaluronic acid is already a proven wrinkle preventing ingredient. This one ingredient works for every skin type, also works well with acne prone skin.

When used topically, Hyaluronic Acid can improve the appearance of fine lines, promote younger looking skin and help repair past skin damage.

I did read a lot about this particular ingredient and its benefit thus, DocLab Face Ampoule made me interested.

DocLab Face Ampoule

Doclab Face Ampoule Packaging and other details:

A pack of DocLab Face Ampoule comes with 5 bottles, each contains 2ml of liquid in it. To use the product, you’ll need to snap off the neck of the ampoule. As because there is no preservative in it so one bottle is for one-time use only.

I’ve been using these DocLab Ampoules for five days in a row, at night after applying toner and before using my night cream. The liquid feels very much water like and sinks into the skin very fast, I took the product out and gently dab the product into skin using palm. I normally use facial oil or other facial serum in my night time skincare but for these days I totally skipped those.

How does DocLab Ampoule feel on the skin?

– Upon application, the ampoules literally feel nothing. I feel I just dabbed some water on my face. Also, I do feel that my skin is got soaked necessary moisture.

I don’t have any facial problems, such as acne or anything else, at the moment. It was kind of hard for me to justify the visual benefit of DocLab Face Ampoule with just 5 use. Good Part, I didn’t face any problem while using it. My skin did felt great. I’m thinking to continue using them in the future.

As because this is a high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid, I’m sure the benefit of using this product will be visible only if I use it for the long term.

In a nutshell, I did enjoy using DocLab Face Ampoule so far and tempted to continue. DocLab Ampoule feels like I’m taking an extra step, but a good one, for my skincare routine.

Hey, have you tried this product or anything similar? How is your experience? Please let me know in the comment box below….!

Update on the DocLab Face Ampoule Packaging:

The packaging of the docLab ampoules has been changed recently. They have a better packaging now than the picture I showed here in this post.

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque

36

It’s been raining since morning and I’ve been feeling lazy whole day. So now at this afternoon I slathered some jelly mask on my face, felt instantly refreshed and relaxed as always and though to finally write down my thoughts on the mask that is on my face right now 🙂
Well, yeah I’m going to talk about ePure Membranous Jelly Masque now.

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque is developed by the renowned Dr. Yulong Moy, USA.

The Company claims,
[color-box]

It is the first-of-its-kind facial mask with ACF (Active Cellular Factor). This unique mask retains 70% more moisture than other sheet mask, it forces the skin pores to fully absorb the nourishing ingredients while drawing out the impurities instantaneously. It also inhibit melanin synthesis, which lightens pigmentation, balances uneven skin tone, leaves your skin brighter and supple with dewy fresh vibrance

[/color-box]

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque

This mask comes in two type of packaging, one is in 30g packs with three of them, another is in a jar. I got the 3 packs one. Each pack gave me 2 uses ( I guess my face is small in size… ha ha).
The mask is thick crystal jelly texturewise, almost has no scent to it yet I do smell something refreshing, gives cooling and refreshing sensation immediately to the skin. I love the fact that it also comes with a scraper for application convenience.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque claims to be enriched with four key ingredients.

  • Hyaluronic Acid: Infused triple concentration of hyaluronic acid helps to assist in penetration, replenishes the skin’s moisture reservoir, minimizes the skin pores and stimulates the skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid. Also protects against elastin degradation to maintain the skin’s firmness, regulates and repair cell growth, helps wound heal faster and minimizes the look of scars.
  • Algae Extract: Algae is a plant from the sea, a seaweed actually. It is high in anti-bacterial properties to detoxify the skin whilst promoting circulation, high in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12 to reduce inflammation and redness. Packed with high concentrations of minerals such as fluorine, magnesium and calcium to maintain the skin’s moisture balance – which is neither too dry or too oily.
  • Jojoba Leaf Extract: A powerful antioxidant to defend against skin damage. Rich in vitamin A, D, E to smoothen the skin and gets rid of excessive dryness. Also helps to reduce fine lines & wrinkles.
  • Alpha Arbutin: Its a skin whitening agent for skin de-pigmentation that helps to reduce melanin from reacting to sunlight, treats allergic inflammation, sunburn marks and regulates melanogenesis. Protects the skin against damage caused by free radicals.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Looking at the ingredient, in one word you can tell this mask is full of goodness! Now let me tell you how is my experience…

ePure Membranous Jelly Masque

So first of all how I use it…
I layer the jelly with the thickness of approx -3cm, as suggested, on my clean face and relax. The mask instantly calms down my skin and any inflammation that I might have due to a hot humid weather. I also find it very soothing to my skin if I exfoliate skin earlier. I let the mask sit on my skin for 30/40 min and do some random task while enjoying my relaxed face. The mask is not sticky, feels watery but quite thick, it doesn’t slide off from the face. The jelly doesn’t get fully dry within 30/40 minute yet gets a bit thicker so it’s not easy to remove thus I prefer using it before shower.

I truly started loving ePure Membranous Jelly Masque since my first use. Can’t say how it is going to benefit my skin in the long term but the instant refreshed and plumped skin it gives me after every use I can’t deny that. It does hydrate and nourish deeply, my skin looks brighter afterward because I believe the mask actually helps to restore skin health. Moreover, I can feel this mask totally replacing all my sheet mask because it is more effective and hassle free to use ( using a mask before shower feels more easy to me than applying and keeping the paper sheet on in my face).

In a nutshell, I love this mask and probably going to stop using all my sheet mask but putting ePure Membranous Jelly in a regular use. I f you haven’t tried it yet then do give it a try.

Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes Mascara

60

A couple of weeks ago I got the new Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes Mascara, all three of them 🙂
Sigma Beauty very recently launched their first mascara line, ‘Structural Lashes’ with a unique concept – one formula, three different (volume, length, curl) style!
Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes Mascara

This ‘Structural Lashes’ mascara line offers three mascara, each of them comes with three different and uniquely designed wands to assure your expected style, however, all of them has the same formula.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

sigma structural lashes mascara

Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes Mascara claims:
[color-box]

*13+ Hour Wear
*Water Resistant
*Flake Resistant
*Smudge Resistant
*Paraben Free

[/color-box]

First of all, yes they are long wearing. They won’t budge or flake till the end. Been performing as a kind product to my sensitive eyes. Fully waterproof, when I remove them with makeup remover the don’t melt but comes off as a flaky particle, I don’t really like this fact because the flakes sometimes gets into my eyes and gives me hard time cleaning them, yet actually all waterproof mascara comes off this way so that’s not a complaint from me. I love the fact that although these mascaras are waterproof but they don’t really make lashes crispy (I experience crispy lashes with most of the waterproof mascara).

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Let’s talk a bit about them individually…

Sigma Monumental lash mascara

Monumental Lash:
This mascara has a comparatively fat wand than other two mascara, there is also a twist in between bristles. The monumental lash mascara claims to provide volume and lift to the lashes. I agree, this mascara instantly gives volume to lashes without clumping them, I also noticed a bit of a lengthening effect. However, I’m not so sure if it really helps to lift lashes. I love using this mascara to give my lashes a second/third layer. Although, because of its fat shaped wand I couldn’t find it much helpful for lower lashes.

Sigma Sinuosity lash mascara

Sinuosity Lash:
This mascara comes with a usual curved, plasticky wand, which claims to curl up lashes. The wand does help to create an uplifting effect  yet I failed to apply this mascara without clumping my lashes, I’m not sure what I was doing wrong. But I’m surprised to see how nicely it applies to my lower lashes without any clump. I must mention, Sinuosity Lash mascara doesn’t give much length or volume.

Sigma High Caliber lash mascara

High Caliber Lash:
This is my favourite one out of all three Sigma Beauty Structural lashes mascara. It has a straight and thin wand with some twisted bristle. It gives noticeable length to lashes as well as lift. I love this one more because it doesn’t create any clump but beautifully keep all lashes separate.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Here is a picture-view of the mascaras to show you how they look when applied.
Initially, I don’t have shabby lashes, my lashes are generously long and full, but they are kinda straight. I do need to curl my lashes up with a curler [there is only one mascara so far I found with what I don’t need to use a curler, that is Benefit Roller Lash (review HERE…) mascara] before applying mascara. The picture below is my natural lashes without any product applied.

Sigma Mascara Before

Now, here in the picture below I applied one coat of High Caliber Lash (first picture) and one coat of Sinuosity Lash (bottom picture). I hope you can see the difference. With High Caliber Lash mascara, my lashes are nicely separated and natural looking and with Sinuosity Lash mascara there is a bit of clumpiness in upper lashes but my lower lashes look fantastic.
sigma structural lashes mascara

Here in the picture below I applied Monumental Lash mascara as a second layer. Though my lower lashes aren’t looking much neat with High Caliber+Monumental Lash combo but upper lashes are looking flawless. This is definitely my favorite combo to go with.
Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes Mascara

Overall, I love the formula of Sigma Beauty Structural Lashes mascara but all them three different wand does make a huge difference in their outcome. They all perform just the way they claim (maybe a bit of this way or that way). If I have to pick one out of three then I’ll definitely pick High Caliber Lash and for a second one, my favorite is Monumental Lash.

I have tried quite a few high-end (Lancome, Stila, Tarte, Benefit, MAC) mascara and I can tell Sigma Structural Lashes mascara does beat some of them with the price point and quality. They surely worth giving a try.

By the way, what is your favorite mascara at the moment? Let me know in the comment box below 🙂

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick | Original & 2nd Edition

28

Almost a year ago MAC Cosmetics launched their first Viva Glam Miley Cyrus collaboration. A super sexy hot pink lipstick in MAC amplified formula along with limited edition packaging that has Miley’s signature in it. Recently they added a second lipstick, A bright orange, in Miley Cyrus Viva Glam range.

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

I do love Miley Curys and her songs, specially The Climb is my all time favourite. Regardless of being a Miley fan, these two lipsticks were pretty much must have for me because of their shade.

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus

They have limited edition signature packaging yet it’s just the same MAC bullet with the same amount of product and that same delicious vanilla smell. The best part of these two shade is I think they are universal and very much flattering for any skin tone. However, I actually love the second edition most because I’m a fan of the matte texture.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus

The first edition is a vivid true fuchsia, kind of satin finish with amplified formula. This pink is vivid but somehow muted that can go with any skin tone without being flashy. I’m not a big fan of MAC amplified formula, but I adjust with this one only because of the shade itself. The lipstick is very opaque upon application, glides smoothly, hydrating and long wearing, leaves a strong pink stain on the lip. This is definitely a fun color for your special occasion as well as can be your everyday shade if you are a fan of bright lips.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

The second edition is a vivid orange, has strong red undertone with matte formula. Though it’s matte but it has more of creamier texture, glide on very smoothly and with full opacity. It’s not transfer-proof yet last 6/7 hours on my lips, feel a bit dry at the end hours, leaves red-ish stain. At the beginning I thought it would be a random orange but when I swatch it in the store I found it’s a very versatile orange and it looks my tawny (ref: NC42) skin very nice. The shade isn’t anything pastel so I believe it will also suit on any skin tone. I actually fall in love with the shade.

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick Swatch

Overall, I think MAC did a very good job with these two lipsticks because I found them very much wearable. Moreover, I can’t deny the fact of a Viva Glam range that 100% of its selling price is going to be in MAC Aids Fund. Even if you don’t find these two much attractive I highly recommend you to check out other Viva Glam product, after all there is a great cause behind it.

By the way, I’m interested to know what is your current favourite MAC lipstick?

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation | Review, Swatch and Comparison

14

I have been looking for a full coverage foundation and wasn’t intended a bit to check on the Too Faced foundation. I was literally looking forward to trying the new MAC and MUFE foundation. But that day I visited Sephora to pick up some random stuff and randomly swatched this new Born This Way Foundation. The shade ‘Honey’ matched my skin beautifully yet I was careless, the SA handed me over a sample pot to try out at home. Next day, I had an event to attend and I thought to try that sample for the day!

The first stroke I applied I was impressed by then with the coverage and amazing blend-ability! Throughout the event, I was complimented on my makeup a couple of times and one of my friends literally asked me about my foundation! I got pretty surprised and couldn’t wait to look at my face, but the event was going on so haven’t had a chance to look at my face :p

I got back home after 6/7 hours and girl! …my makeup looked amazing after all those hours and at the end of the day, I knew that I have to get this foundation. Hence, the next day I ran into Sephora and got myself a bottle of Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. However, I picked the shade Sand for me finally… will explain to you why in a bit… keep reading!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Too Faced say’s about Born This Way Foundation:

[color-box]

Born This Way is an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way. This foundation is infused with a potent combination of Coconut Water to naturally replenish moisture levels; nature’s resilient Alpine Rose to brighten the skin’s appearance and promote elasticity and Hyaluronic Acid for a smoother, more youthful appearance.

KEY FACT:

    • Medium-to-full undetectable coverage
    • Oil-free
    • Coconut Water helps delicately replenish skin’s moisture levels without overhydrating—for the look of radiant skin
    • Infused with the resilient Alpine Rose to brighten the skin’s appearance and promote elasticity
    • Hyaluronic Acid helps balance skin for a smoother, more youthful appearance

[/color-box]

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

My experience with Born This Way Foundation:

I absolutely love the frosted glass bottle with a gold accent design of Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. The luxurious bottle also comes with pump dispenser to make your life easier. The bottle offers the standard amount of product which is 30ml. The product has mild fragrance in it, I’m not really sure how it is like, might be the smell of coconut water.

Too Faced currently offers total 12 shade variety of this foundation and there are more shades coming in this fall. In currently available shade range, there aren’t many options for darker skin tone or with the cooler undertone but it’s good to know that they’ll add more of these soon.

As I mentioned, I color matched with the shade Honey initially but when I tried it at home I noticed that this foundation gets noticeably deeper once it dries or sets into the skin. It’s nothing like oxidizing, but I guess it’s the character of this foundation. Therefore, I picked up the shade Sand for me. When applied ‘Sand’ appears brighter on my skin but after a while, it turns into the perfect match for my skin.

Yes, Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Oxidizes!

Because this foundation tends to get darker after a while so this does create a bit confused while choosing the shade. Have a closer look at the swatches below. I included wet and dry both state of them to give you a better understanding.

Apart from the color inconsistency, I found the oil-free, lightweight, buttery smooth texture of this foundation very pleasant. The foundation glides on skin effortlessly, sits and blends with a seamless finish. The coverage it gives is mind-blowing. It gives medium coverage at the first layer and with a second layer, I get the fullest coverage.

It’s not fluid but quite thick to touch thus works best with the finger or a beauty blender, a regular foundation brush tends to leave a streaky mark. However, my Sigma 3DHD Kabuki brush (review HERE) seems to work perfectly with this foundation. The finish it gives is very natural looking and dewy, holds up without fading till the end and gives extremely lightweight feeling even when I wore a couple of layers to achieve full coverage.

If you care about Born This Way foundation ingredients,

Honestly, I don’t care much. Actually, I don’t feel anything different because it has coconut water, hyaluronic acid. The foundation keeps my skin hydrated while wearing. Moreover, it didn’t give me any breakout so far.

Overall, I’m completely sold and really appreciate the way Too Faced Born This Way foundation works on my skin. Needless to say, this is definitely my new HG foundation. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for full coverage but the most natural looking foundation that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Also has added benefit and appears beautifully in real life as well as in photos.

If you’re a fan of natural coverage then you must check my review on Dior Nude Air Foundation. Also if you’re looking for a full coverage drugstore foundation read my thoughts on Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation.
By the way, I’m keen to know what is your HG foundation?

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur | Face & Eye Cream

34

Anti-Aging and Magic Blur, both of them are definitely two attractive terms for a skin care item. Revitalift Magic Blur Anti-Aging skin care range is almost a new launch by Loreal Paris here in Malaysia. As far as I can remember this range is available here since July’15.

This range of product is focused on giving you an instant effect by blurring your facial lines or pores, also claims to provide anti-aging benefit in long term use. I was tempted, skeptical and excited to reveal the goodness of these products when I got them in hand few weeks back.

Let me tell you in details how was my experience with them.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur Anti-Aging Moisturizer:
Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

The hot-red glass jar and metallic shiny lid makes it a luxurious packaging that you would love keep in the top of your dresser. The Jar comes with 50ml of product, I would really appreciate if there was a spatula to maintain hygiene.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

Loreal Revitalift anti-aging moisturizer claims to reduce the look of lines, wrinkles and pores instantly and also reduce their appearance over time. The Opti-Blur technology of this cream diffuses light on skin to immediately blur lines and pores. Key ingredient Pro-Retinol A fights the sign of aging for a younger-looking skin over time.

Let me describe you the facts in a simpler way.

First of all, this moisturizer has a smooth, slightly sand like, thick texture. Applies and blends into skin beautifully and gives a perfect matte finish. It does give blurring effect on skin instantly also makes the skin surface extra smooth. It mattifies skin completely and that last for long yet surprisingly doesn’t dry out skin.
I felt this moisturizer creates a veil/layer on top of skin, quite similar like a foundation primer, once applied your skin will be matte and oil free for long time, facial lines will be less visible. However, the cream actually doesn’t get absorbed into the skin like all other moisturizers will do. I had a look on the ingredient list, found that it has silicone in it which clearly describe why it acts like a veil.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

I’m a fan of regular moisturizer and love that pumped and hydrated feel on the skin, I don’t really mind a bit of shine on skin when I’m home. At the beginning when I was trying Loreal Rivitalift Magic Blur Anti-aging moisturizer I actually liked the mattifying effect on my skin. But within few days I realized it is not really keeping my skin hydrated so I was re-applying within 2 to 3 hour which is unusual for me.

[wp_ad_camp_1][/wp_ad_camp_1]

I also tried to use it underneath my makeup. If I was directly applying foundation over the cream then it was working great but when I tried to apply foundation primer over the cream, face and eye primer both, the moisturizer ( or I should say the veil) comes off/ crumbles like crazy. I prefer my makeup not to look matte but dewy so I had to use some illuminating primer and there the cream was a turnoff.

To be honest, I don’t hate the cream but I couldn’t love the cream either. It definitely failed to replace my regular moisturizer, but I do use it over my regular moisturizer when I’m home because I’m loving that blurring effect if gives. A good part to mention, it didn’t give me any break out so far.

Point to be noted, I have a combination skin and I don’t mind shine on my face, but I know many of you out there who dies for matte and shine free skin. In a nutshell, this is the moisturizer for you if you love matte skin all the way, also for those who has super oily skin.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur Anti-Aging Eye Cream:
Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

I have been in search for a good eye cream for long and currently I’m actually liking this Revitalift Magic Blur eye cream by Loreal Paris.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

Loreal Magic Blur Anti-Aging eye cream also offers the same technology, Opti-Blur, like the Revitalift Magic Blur moisturizer, but the key ingredient here is Caffeine. Along with blurring out the lines this also claims to diminish the dark circle.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

This eye cream comes in a sleek tube packaging that has pointed tip which makes the application mess free. The tube looks almost like a fat pen and offers 15ml of product in it.

The product has the similar silky smooth texture like the face moisturizer, but it’s quite thin than the other one. It applies beautifully and visibly blurs out fine lines under the eyes.

Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur

Although the eye cream has the similar texture like the moisturizer, but this one does get absorbed into the skin. This one also mattifies the skin without giving any dry feeling. This also performs well under makeup. I don’t have any dark circle or much puffiness around my eyes so I couldn’t determine anything on that fact, yet it surely gives an instant effect of reduced fine lines.

I have pretty dehydrated under eye area. Although this eye cream is a mattifying one, but somehow my under eye area doesn’t feel dehydrated while using it. haven’t found any turnoff for this cream, I’m loving it at the moment and also hoping that it will work on reducing my fine lines in long term use.

Do I recommend Loreal Rivitalift Anti-Aging Magic Blur eye cream? Yes, I do… if you are looking for an eye cream that is matte and you’re up to hiding your fine lines then you might want to give this a try.
