International Mother Language Day | Ekushey February for all the brave heart & 2-ana of my soul!

4

Woke up in the middle of the night with a few notifications on the phone. Two of them, from two renowned makeup brand, literally took my sleep away! First one is a mail notification saying, “Happy National Love-Your-Pet Day. Are you an animal lover too? Give your pet an extra hug and kiss today and… blah blah”. The second one is a tweet notification from an hour ago that I missed checking, “Happy National Lash Day, giving you some lashes goals… blah blah!” This very ordinary Bengali heart got a little shock. Isn’t it Ekushey February, International Mother Language Day?

Isn’t it suppose to be International Mother Language Day?

Right now I’m tussled up, my mind is messed up, my desk is messed up and my whole house looks messed up! This piece of thought I’m trying to document here can go messed up as well. If it does, an early apology 🙌

Just three to four days ago I read an old article written by Amit Basu in Anandabazar Patrika, February’17. It was something like this to start, “Does Ekushey February, International Language Day celebrated by all countries? No, they don’t and that’s not a fault either. If someone doesn’t have a mother tongue what they going to celebrate for? Ekushey February isn’t important to them but a pain. A pain of a child without a mother. Even if they try to cover it up with all their resources but how much they can that will always be a question”. I just tried to express a few thoughts of Amit Basu here from his article. Otherwise, the whole article was something that you read in a breath. I enjoyed reading every word from that article.

For the past weeks, life has been poorly-cooked hotchpotch without the zing of a fried dry chilly on the plate. My blogging life and a few more stuff have been rolling over my head continuously and kept me restless yet unproductive. Now when these notifications popped up on my eyes my brain clicked right on the flash of Amit Basu’s article. Took me in deep thought.

This Bangladeshi Beauty blogger, me, felt criticized in the worst manner. Criticized by myself!

I’m not a good writer to express everything that I feel. But I’m sitting here to write something at least! Probably because I’m hurt from the core of my individuality. As a Bengali soul and Bangladeshi heart. I don’t care if it’s a national Pet day or an eyelash day!

It is Ekushey February and the International Mother Language Day.

…For me! Shouldn’t it be the same globally?

Today Ekush will be celebrated/remembered today not only Bangladesh but in the whole world where ever there are one Bengali soul exist. The war of 1952 (Language Movement) was for the language, Bangla. No Bangladesh was yet to born back then and me too. But the whole world is well aware of this one unique fight for language, winning an alphabet by raining Bengali-blood on the street.

In 1998, the announcement of Ekushey February as the International Mother Language Day was requested to Kofi Anan by two Bangladeshi residing in Canada, Rafiqul Islam, and Abdus Salam. On November 17, 1999, Ekushey February was declared as the International Mother Language Day in UNESCO‘s session in Paris. From February 21, 2000, the day begins to be celebrated in member countries to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. In 2010, the proposal to observe International Mother Language Day on February 21 was passed in the 65th UN general assembly without an opposition focusing on the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures.

Ekushey February is now not just for Bangladesh or Bengalis. It is a day of celebration in every country of the world.

The value of International Mother Language Day grows in importance with time when it comes to value the local language of each nation around the world. Yes, it is a pride of us, Bengalis. However, I believe this day is also a positive pronunciation, an approach, and an example for the whole world in the question of preserving local identity.

To conclude,
I pay my regards and respect to the great Language Martyrs of our country on this occasion of International Mother Language Day.

Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare – Vitamin C Serum with Actives | A Gentle Vitamin C Serum that works!

0

I assume my Title for this article says it all! This Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare – Vitamin C Serum with B Actives (Konjac Root, Ferulic & Hyaluronic Acid) turns out to be the best Vitamin C serum I’ve used so far considering how gently it works on the skin. The other serum I swore by is still holding my favorite position for its fast action but I would rather go with a gentle skincare tan something works fast and is hard to maintain.

Mad Hippie, popular earth-loving skincare brand mostly in the USA. The brand and its ethics are clearly pronounced from its choice of product ingredient to designing the outer packaging. The plant-based ingredients are selected from suppliers with top qualifications. Products are vegan and cruelty-free, GMO-free, fragrance-free, and non-irritant. The cute and unique packaging is printed using soy inks with 100% wind energy.

The brand has been there for a long time now as I’ve been reading about it on USA skincare blogs. However, I started giving this Vitamin C serum a try last year, in November when Worthee Cosmetics sent a sample product with the news that they are now an authorized retailer of Mad Hippie (along with Paulas Choice, I’ve talked before) here in Malaysia.

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum

I’ve been taking a good amount of time to try out this Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum. I was in a conflict if this serum is really that good as I was feeling or it was just a dilemma! It’s been more than two months since I’ve been using this serum in my skincare routine. Sometimes I’ve been using it as the only serum in my skincare, sometimes in a rotation with others and sometimes with a gap of a couple of days.

Ingredients of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

Water Deionized, Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Alkyl Benzoate, Vegetable Glycerin, Water, Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis), Hyaluronic acid, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Vitamin E (Tocotrienol), Ferulic acid, Chamomile Flower Extract (Recutita Matricaria), Sodium Phytate, Xanthum Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose

Key Ingredients:

Vitamin C  (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%) – A vital element in the production of collagen, vitamin C can reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration, while helping offer antioxidant protection from photoaging – a leading cause of skin aging. Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a more stable and bioavailable form of Vitamin C than the commonly used L-Ascorbic Acid found in most skin care products. It has the same benefits, without the risk of oxidation and irritation that is often associated with L-Ascorbic Acid.

Vitamin E – Protective antioxidant that has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration.

Ferulic Acid – A natural antioxidant found in the cell walls of plants.  When combined with vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid has been shown to have a compounding antioxidant/UV protective effect.

Hyaluronic Acid – Works to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  A naturally occurring substance in the body, hyaluronic acid begins to deplete as we age.

Konjac Root Powder – Exotic flower from Asia, helps to soften & smooth the skin while forming a thin protective barrier.  Rich in nutrients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, potassium, magnesium, iron, niacin, folic acid & vitamins A, E, C, D & B!

Grapefruit – Rich in antioxidants & citric acid, grapefruit helps to remove dead skin cells, acting as a natural exfoliant.

Chamomile Extract – Provides a thin protective shield, while naturally soothing and calming the skin.

Clary Sage – Helps eliminate overly-dry or overly-oily skin.  Acts as natural toner & astringent.

Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare - Vitamin C Serum with Actives | The most Gentle Vitamin C Serum I've ever used that works!

The Key Ingredients here in this Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum features all plant derivates and vegan anti-aging properties. Not only Vitamin C but I love that this serum is also enriched with other beneficial properties like hyaluronic acid, ferulic acid, and actives that work to rejuvenate skin.

Characteristic of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

There are a lot of mumbo-jumbos around the web about vitamin C serum focusing on how it gives you bright and spotless skin. Needless to mention those other vitamin C serums which might work according to the expectation but the price point can give you a punch in the eye.

Does a vitamin C serum really give you spotless and bright (or I should say ‘white’) skin?
– Yes, vitamin C does brighten skin in a combination of science-based ingredients/formula and if you can incorporate it into your skincare in a decent and necessary manner.

Some powerful vitamin C serum gives a visible brightness within a short time but later on, that brightness is just too hard to maintain. Sun and environment will give just the opposite effect of bright skin if the skincare ritual is not maintained properly.

To talk about vitamin C, we are always told that allow lights in and the product is spoiled. The vitamin C product itself needs extra care to prevent it from losing its characteristics. Kudos to the stabilized form (based on my little research) of vitamin C and E in Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum that offers the peace to use it without any extra hassle.

The serum does come with a colored bottle like all other Vitamin C serum does. The original color of this serum was slightly yellowish as the picture shown below. I was skeptical at the beginning but, fortunately, the texture, color, or the clarity of it didn’t change a bit until now (3 months approx).

Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare - Vitamin C Serum with Actives | The most Gentle Vitamin C Serum I've ever used that works!

My experience with Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

Initially, I love the natural, plant-based formula of Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum and its intensive purposes. The. I can use this serum anytime, am or pm, or just in the middle of the day. For being enriched with other skin rejuvenating properties the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum was just an excellent alternative to other serums that I would use at the same time.

This Vitamin C serum has a lightweight texture, gets absorbed by the skin within a minute. No stickiness and no greasiness at all. I found it very comfortable on my skin. Thus I started using it during the day under sunscreen or even under my makeup. While I was trying the serum alone I didn’t use any other serum so I can examine the benefits properly. The serum itself is enough to maintain the moisture balance of the skin throughout the day.

For the night I preferred using a heavy moisturizer like Kiehls Multi-Corrective Cream to ensure the maximum skincare benefits I was expecting. And sometimes I did add some other targeted serum before or after (as required) Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum. When using it at night my skin just felt extra better and plumped up every morning.

I didn’t notice any visible effect within a couple of weeks or so. But yes, the serum does effectively helps to even out skin tone. I was able to notice the improvement in my skin after 6/7 weeks of use. And in fact, the healthy glow was beautiful even when I was having a hectic life due to traveling here and there. Added antioxidants, hydrants, and other actives were surely balancing my skin from growing further age-sign.

You may wonder,
Does Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum help to fade spots?

– My answer will be yes. However, it’s complicated in a sense as well.

The sunspots and blemishes I have had for a long time never seemed to fade a bit with this serum. To be honest, those spots eventually never faded with anything so far. There were a couple of spots that I created myself poking some tiny bumps. The serum worked on those spots. My skin went spot-free within a week. Normally, it would take me a couple of weeks to get rid of those spots with my regular skincare.

To conclude this gentle vitamin C serum review,

Mad Hippie Advanced Skin Care Vitamin C serum is a targeted Vitamin C serum that contains 10% Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. It is also enriched with antioxidants and other skin beneficial active ingredients to revitalize skin. The serum has a lightweight texture that sinks into the skin fast without leaving any sticky residue. My skin feels moisturized, balanced, and even-toned with regular use. If used twice a day the effect is more visible. It effectively helps to fade minor spots and prevent fine lines to grow further. It is a gentle Vitamin C serum that works with time but it does work.

Considering how gentle this vitamin serum is on the skin and it’s not heavy or drying, I believe this serum is suitable for all skin types.

By Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash | Easy & Safe 2-in-1 Skin Exfoliator For All Skin Type

0

Have you tried a powder face wash before? I haven’t until I tried this Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash. Only something similar I can recall is Lush Angels On Bare Skin but that was almost a dough like a cleanser. This Green Tea Powder Wash is a barely new product by Wishtrend, launched in November’17 as far as I can remember. I was sent the product for the testing purpose. I was literally dying to try it out but due to the holidays and all, I had to put it aside. And of course, I didn’t want to experience this unique powder wash in a rush.

Since the middle of January’18, I have included the By Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash in my skincare routine. This is simply a daily cleanser that also gently exfoliate skin without irritating skin. Let me tell you how was the journey so far…

Ingredients of Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder(2%), Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate.

Raw Ingredients:

There are four kew ingredient in this powder wash as followed –

1. Green tea powder: A powerful antioxidant rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, C, and E. Green tea cleansing is one of the Asian skin care tips for calming and improving skin tone. It gives a relaxing and comforting effect on the skin with the fragrance of green tea.

 2. Papain: Eliminates proteolytic enzymes, old keratin, and skin wastes to improve the skin texture.

 3. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda): Works as a soft and gentle scrub agent, excellent for blackhead and skin care.

 4. Amino acid surfactants (Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate): A weakly acidic surfactant derived from coconut. Great skin-affinity and excellent moisture retention.

Wishrend Green Tea Powder Wash

Packaging and Texture:

I simply love the clean packaging of this Green Tea Powder Wash. The bottle is pale green, plastic made, sturdy and lightweight and dispense the powder with and ease. The texture of the powder is not fine but smoothly coarse. Once added to water you’ll get a smooth paste.

I find the bottle very much travel-friendly. For each use, two to three pinch of powder is enough. Accordingly, one bottle of this powder seemed to last for a really long time.

How to use Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash:

Take an adequate amount into your hand and use a small amount of water to work up a lather. What I do is wet my face first then pat a generous amount of the Green Tea Powder Wash on my face directly. Then wet my hand again and with the water on my hand gently I rub the powder on my face. Because it’s not necessary to add much water and also you don’t want a runny paste. The powder melts away within a second and lathers up. I do this to avoid the mess of lathering up the product first on my hand.

I’ve a warm water facility on my basin so I usually use lukewarm water whenever I wash my face. This powder wash is recommended to mix with warm water to activate the enzyme properties in it. However, I guess it’s ok to use normal water as well.

I’ve been using this Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash once a day (morning mostly) when my skin acts normal. For those days when my skin felt a bit sensitive, I skipped using it to avoid further inflammation os such can cause by baking soda in it (I have got a weird feeling about baking soda).

Wishrend Green Tea Powder Wash

My Experience with Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash:

First of all, I absolutely love the ‘matcha latte’ smell of this facial cleanser. As I mentioned before, I’ve been using Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash by Wishtrend in my morning skincare routine. When massaging my face with this powder wash, it gives a very gentle exfoliation. My skin feels clean, awake but not dried out afterward.

Baking Soda itself is very popular as a skin exfoliator among skincare junkies although I’ve never tried that method on my skin. Thus I can’t tell how baking soda really feels on the skin. However, I liked the feeling of Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash. The acidic exfoliation it gives, you can feel on the skin. I can also feel how gentle the exfoliation is. This even feels milder than a regular facial scrub (e.g. Neutrogena Daily Facial Scrub).

It is suggested to avoid skin care products that have exfoliating effects (retinol, high concentration vitamin C, AHA/BHA, etc.) while using the Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash. Don’t take this as my suggestion at all, just to be honest, I’ve to mention that all this time I’ve been using other exfoliating products but in my pm skincare routine. I love an exfoliating toner for my night time skin care. For the toner, I’ve been using Pixi Glow Tonic and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution in a rotation. I was also maintaining a cycle of using Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum and Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum. Fortunately, I haven’t faced any issue so far. Maybe because I was using them at night and not just right after the powder wash.

Because it is an exfoliating cleanser, it does help to maintain a bright and even skin tone. Accordingly helps to improve skin texture. I find this cleanser really helps to keep whiteheads and blackheads on the bay if used regularly. The cleanser gives a proper clean face but you don’t expect it to clean a full-on makeup face.

To conclude,

I simply love this powder face wash if you ask me only about powder face wash types [yes, this is the only powder wash I’ve used so far]. I couldn’t find a single bad side of it. In fact, think this face wash can be the best option for youngsters who are busy in daily life and don’t want to bother with an extra step of exfoliation, be careful not to use it more than once a day.

Nonetheless, If you want me to pick between a regular face wash and a powder wash then I’ll definitely stick to a gel type facial cleanser. By Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash is indeed a good cleanser but activating the powder just feels slightly extra work to me. Forget my personal psychology and do give it a try if you haven’t tried it yet.

Easy 6-Step Facial Spa at Home | Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask

0

Don’t you agree that getting a facial spa is pretty much one of the most relaxing experiences and the perfect remedy to rejuvenate our skin? After all, it’s not easy to take a break from our busy daily life. I find it absolutely rewarding when I can indulge in a facial spa treatment, especially at home. Because you might need one in an emergency!
Just like a few days before it was my wedding anniversary. I and Husband were spending time together on a remote side of Cox’s Bazaar (BD). I badly needed a morning facial spa just the very day because ‘Me Time’ is so important. 6 easy step of facial spa and my recent favorite Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask rescued me big time.

I thought I would share those key steps to creating a spa-like environment and kick-start your DIY at-home facial mask treatment. Not for an SOS situation only but you can apply this method any time you want; after a long day at work or running errands away from home.

A regular facial routine is always recommended by experts to achieve a healthy, glowing skin. Not only facials help even out the skin tone, one can also enjoy multiple deep cleansing benefits and experience overall rejuvenation.

Does it interest you?

Step 1 – Eliminate Disruptions
– Give a heads up to the people around you to allow you 30 minutes of facial spa time. This is to ensure that you can completely enjoy some uninterrupted “ME” time. You may also consider turning off your mobile, or at least put it on silent mode.

Step 2 – Gather Your Spa Supplies
– Have it your way with a comfy robe and slippers, sufficient water, some healthy snacks, scented candles and soothing music. Remember to also include all necessary facial equipment such as a headband, wet tissues, face towel and most importantly your favorite facial masks. A leave-on or wash-off mask, anything you prefer. I’ve picked Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask (Rose) for this session which is a wash-off mask.

Step 3 – Set the Mood
– It wouldn’t be a spa-like experience without you lighting up the scented candles and turning on a playlist that you can relax to. You may also opt for some essential oils of your choice to create the atmosphere you desire and to enhance the effect of your DIY spa day at home.

As because this session was kind of an SOS session for me so the wide open sea-view from my window and the jazz music played by the resort was I could have.

After the setup – Holà! You can now kick-start your DIY at-home facial mask treatment.

Step 4 – Cleanse Your Face
– This step of your facial spa is crucial. Cleansing helps remove dirt, oil, and impurities on the skin surface to give your skin a “clean slate”. With cleansing give your skin a bit of exfoliation if possible. You can use any physical scrub that is available to you [e.g. Neutrogena Daily Scrub]. It will also ensure other products to penetrate optimally into the skin. Don’t forget your toner after cleansing your face.

Step 5 – Pick Your Favourite Facial Masks
– Masking is obviously the main part of the facial spa treatment. Pick your mask depending on your skin need. For my special day, I obviously wanted to indulge in something best. Rose flower infused Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask is in fact made to prepare skin for important dates.

Alternatively, you can also opt for the facial mask layering if you have a couple of mask available around you.

Step 6 – Moisturize
– If you have opted for the wash-off mask (i.e. Clay Mask/ Bubble Mask), then the final steps to your DIY facial treatment will include moisturizing the skin. Continue by applying the similar steps you’d complete in your daily skincare regimen. Finish off your facial treatment with a 1 to 2-minute face massage and be amazed by the overall effect!

You’re done! – time to look in the mirror and kill the world with your beauty 🙂

If you find yourself getting caught up in a busy lifestyle, don’t wait just follow the steps above and give yourself an experience of being at a spa right at home.

Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask - Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask

Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask (Petal Purifying)

This is a new facial mask by Mamonde. The Petal Purifying Bubble Mask is infused with visible rose petals together with green tea and peppermint extracts. It helps revitalize stressed skin caused by external environments, bringing dull-looking skin back to life. Green tea is well known for its anti-oxidative property and the peppermint extract helps maintain adequate moisture on the skin surface.

Mamonde Purifying Bubble Mask is just the right thing to combat dull and tired looking skin. When applied, it forms soft, fluffy and chiffon-like bubbles to purify and give skin a clear complexion. After each application, this Rose mask almost instantly gives skin a radiant look.

Suitable for:

  • Dry Skin
  • Dull and Fatigue Skin

Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask - Mamonde Rose Bubble Mask

How to Use Mamonde Purifying Bubble Mask:

After cleansing, refine the skin with toner. Take out a generous amount of the Purifying Bubble Mask on dry hands. Because if you keep the jar open for long, with air contact the mask will form bubbles inside the jar. Apply the mask all over the face except for eyes and mouth area. Once fine bubbles are formed (approx. a minute later), apply warm water and massage the lather gently for a minute or two. Wash off thoroughly with warm water.

Fenty Beauty Lipstick | Mattemoiselle Plush Matte – Are they worth a try?

0

Hie there? I hope your new year is off to a great start! I’m here literally for the first post of the year and it’s about Fenty Beauty Lipstick. Since Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Launched in the market it was always the hype. Although they deserve that especially for their face products (read my previous article here). Just at the end of 2017, Fenty Beauty launched their Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipsticks. This was, in fact, my last makeup purchase of 2017.

Initially, I was eyeing on Freckle Fiesta. I went to Sephora just on the released date but evening and found out Freckle Fiesta is already out of stock. The sales assistant said it was the bestseller of the day. It has to be, that brow is gorgeous with a perfect warm undertone. However, I wanted Saw-C as well. Because it’s a perfect matte orange shade.

Fenty Beauty Lipstick | Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Shawty

I ended up buying Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipsticks Saw-C and Shawty. Shawty is a brown as well but in a dark deep manner. I found out when I mix Saw-C and Shawty it turns out just the Freckle Fiesta shade. Jackpot! Thus I had to get those two shade.

Above in the first picture of this article I mixed two shade, Saw-C and Shawty to get the color Freckle Fiesta. It turns out pretty well. In fact, it looks just the same as Freckle Fiesta. What you think?

Fenty Beauty Lipstick | Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Saw C

These matte Fenty Lipsticks are nicely creamy in texture. Actually most of them. A few of them vary at consistency. Like Saw-C and Up 2 No Good doesn’t glide as creamy and smooth as the Freckle Fiesta and Shawty does. But they are not as bad as you can’t wear, they’re good. These lipsticks have no smell and last on the lips pleasantly long time.

Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipstick packaging looks sleek from far but I’m totally not a fan. Up close, the packaging gives me a cheap feeling, specifically the inner tube. Fenty could’ve done it better for sure. Looking at the price, packaging and lipstick quality I would, apparently, choose MAC lipsticks over Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte.

Fenty Beauty Lipstick, Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Swatch:

I skipped swatching blue and other popping shades. Here are the swatches of 11 Fenty Beauty Lipstick –

4 Belif Skincare Products For Oily Skin | Oil-Control Moisturiser, Cleansing Oil Fresh, Aqua Gel Oil & Tinted Moisturiser

0

Christmas is just too close! How are you prepping for the holidays? I feel like to take the vacation right now but maybe I’ll do a couple more post to conclude this year of 2017!
As you can tell from the title that this post is all about Belif Skincare. I’ve been eyeing on Belif Skincare for a while now. Their moisturizers are quite popular among skincare lovers. Finally, last month I’ve got my hand on 4 of the Belif Skincare products (thanks to Belif Malaysia).

About Belif Cosmetics:

Belif, where time-trusted apothecary meets modern Korean skincare science. Belif is a herbal cosmetics brand that carries 150 years old knowledge and philosophy of Duncun Napier (British herbalist). Inspired by 19th-century apothecary techniques, belif offers a unique range of products that follow Korea’s intricate skin care regimen. Each effective formula uses the purest of ingredients powered by modern skin science and traditional herb processing methods. Minimalistic packaging, no harmfull synthetic substance but true combination of natural ingredients and science empowers Belif to deliver value to the customer. True Ingredients, True Formula, True Safety, True Benefit and True Timelessness are 5 promises that the brand makes to their customers.

The four belif skincare products I got are especially for oily to combination skin type. It’s been a nice journey so far experimenting with all 4 Belif Skincare Products. Love their minimalistic packaging and top-notch quality. I’m sorta impressed with their true claim.

Let’s talk about them one by one…

Belif Oil Control Moisturizer Fresh:

Belif Oil control moisturiser | Skincare For Oily Skin

Belif Oil control moisturizer has a thin gel consistency. Absorbs into the skin like magic. Skin feels silky smooth and well hydrated afterward. Controls oil secreting really well for hours. I love the fact that Makeup goes really well with it.

At first look, a lot of skin conditioning agent mentioned in this belif Oil Control Moisturiser really caught my eyes! Moreover, there is silica as well. If you’re reading regularly then you know how I feel about silica. I got skeptical. Though this moisturizer might be something like Milky Jelly Moisture Cream. Turns out, it is and it’s not as well.

Ingredient of Oil Control Moisturizer, Fresh:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sorbitol, Dimethicone, Triethylhexanoin, Rosa Caninafruit Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Mentha Rotundifolia Leaf Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Leaf Extract+, Viola Tricolor Extract+, Spiraea Ulmaria Flower Extract+, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract+, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract+, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract*, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract*, Nepeta Cataria Extract*, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract*, Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract*, Stellaria Media (Chickweed) Extract*, Silica, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Xanthan Gum, Tromethamine, Trisodium EDTA, Parfum/Fragrance**, Limonene.
* Napiers original formula – a herbal formula for clarification and hydration

+ Napiers Moisture formula – A herbal formula for oil moisture balance
** Fargrance of natural origin

Now there are a lot of herbal extract in it, which is good. But within my experience, I felt this moisturizer alone isn’t enough for my skin. Especially considering that I’m in my 30th now so face needs special care. I’ve been using belif moisturizer as a topper of my serums and all. Also, I had to put it in a rotation. There are some days when my combination skin needs some intense moisture.

Belif Oil Control Moisturizer Fresh is an excellent moisturizer without a doubt but for my younger sister who is in her 20s!

Belif Aqua Gel Oil:

Belif Aqua Gel Oil | Skincare For Oily Skin

This Aqua Gel Oil is a very interesting product. Something like this I came across for the first time. Initially, I got confused thinking what should I actually use it for! The product looks almost the same as the Oil Control moisturizer just with a light blue tint. But obviously, Aqua Gel oil and the moisturizer isn’t the same thing at all.

Belif Skincare For Oily Skin | Oil Control Moisturiser and Aqua Gel Oil Swatch

Belif Aqua Gel Oil is an intense aqua based moisturizer which has oil in it to provide a double benefit at once. Don’t be afraid! This Aqua Gel Oil doesn’t even feel anything oily in touch. Yes, It’s magical the way it sounds haha.

This has become my favorite for pm skincare routine. As because it contains oil so I use it after all my pm skincare stuff. It leaves an emollient (or I should say glowy) finish upon application. More interestingly, even if I use a facial oil the before the Belif Aqua Gel Oil, It takes away oiliness from that oil as well. It creates a strong barrier and locks all the moisture inside. Each morning I get a fresh and nourished face.

Simply love this product!

Belif Cleansing Oil Fresh:

Belif Cleashing Oil | Skincare For Oily Skin

What is a good Oil Cleanser?
– That takes off all makeup and dirt with an ease but leaving no oily residue!

Belif Cleansing Oil Fresh own my heart without a second thought. The consistency of this cleansing oil is lighter than usual cleansing oil, probably because it is made for oily skin. Melts down makeup very easily. Emulsifies with water and when rinsing off leaves no oily residue. For waterproof makeup like mascara or so, you might need a second go.

Ingredients of Cleansing Oil, Fresh:

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Triethylhexanoate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Water, Tocopheryl Acetate, Saponaria Officials Leaf Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Sapindus Mukurossi Fruit Extract, Benincasa Cerifera Seed Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Calendula Officials Flower Extract*, Nepeta Cataria Extract*, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract*, Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract*, Stelaria Media (Chickweed) Extract*, Fragrance+, Citronellol, Limonene.
* Napiers original formula – a herbal formula for clarification and hydration

+ Fargrance of natural origin

Belif Cleashing Oil | Skincare For Oily Skin

The characteristic of it clearly reminds me of Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. Considering the lightweight formula I think I love this one better. I love how it smells too. Something like ginger-ish, very mild but super refreshing.

There is an interesting claim that this cleansing oil helps to remove blackheads. I’m doubtful about that! Maybe I shouldn’t because I don’t have blackheads.

Belif Tinted Moisturizer, Powdery BB

Belif Tinted Moisturiser | Skincare For Oily Skin

There are 3 types of Belif tinted moisturizer available, Basic BB, Waterdrop BB and this one, Powdery BB. The Powdery BB gives more matte finish and oil control compared to other two types. This one is for oily skin after all!

Belif Tinted moisturizer consists SPF 43, PA+++. A little goes long ways and claims to give a medium (some kind of, as I read the packaging) coverage. There was an ingredient list attached to the packaging but in Korean or so which I was unable to read.

Belif Tinted Moisturiser Swatch | Skincare For Oily Skin

Belif Tinted Moisturizer Powdery BB has only one shade/tint with a neutral undertone. The shade blends into the skin to an extent but unfortunately, failed to match with my warm/tan skin. I love how comfortable it feels on the skin and healthy finish it gives. However, I can’t resist any white cast on my face or things that make me look whitish!

As because I loved the finish initially, I tried to mix coverFX custom drop in it to warm up the tone. It worked obviously! Then again I felt the tinted moisturizer was losing its characteristic because of coverFX. Mixed with CoverFX custom drops, the tinted moisturizer felt like a medium coverage BB cream (e.g. Nars Skin Tint). Whereas the Belif tinted moisturizer alone was giving a nice clear and dewy (except the white cast) veil.

I stopped using it after a few try. However, I’m sure those with medium to fairer skin gonna love this tinted moisturizer.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

In a nutshell,

I’ve nothing much to complain about these 4 Belif Skincare Products. They are indeed perfected for oily to combination skin type. I’ve to appreciate the belif Aqua Gel Oil. Apparently, I love it more than the Belif Oil Control Moisturizer. Belif Cleansing oil is simply a sweetheart. Except I really wish the tinted moisturized matched my skin so I could use it. After using them four I’m more interested to try out their anti-aging skincare range.

5 Reason Why You Need Argan Oil In Your Beauty Routine | Mogador Pure Argan Oil

It’s not been long since Argan Oil has become so popular in the beauty industry. But there is a solid reason behind that. This oil is nothing but full of goodness to earn the reputation. It is a Moroccan traditional ingredient to heal skin diseases and a natural skin care product. But as soon as the world learned about its benefit no one hesitate to adopt argan oil in their beauty regime.

Are you aware of it? If you aren’t then your beauty routine is missing something very important.

5 amazing benefit of Argan Oil:

  1. Revive Dry Skin
    – Argan oil is simply a magic potion for the dry skin or just to nourish any type of skin. It has a high volume of Antioxidant properties, Vitamin A, C & E, linoleic acid and omega-6 fatty acids. Thus for any dry parts of your body, from face to your nail, argan oil works as the perfect moisturizer.
  2. Acne Treatment
    – When oils like coconut oil and else are highly comedogenic but Argan oil has an amazing ability to regulate the sebum production.
Take a few drops of oil in your palm and pat gently over the acne affected area. Use twice a day. Contained anti-oxidant heals and soothes the skin inflammation, helps new cells to grow. Thus, you’ll also notice your acne scar will fade away faster.
  3. Prevent age sign
    – As I said before, high volume of Antioxidant properties and Vitamin E; which makes Argan Oil a perfect solution to battle with you aging issue.
Use a few drops of oil daily at the last stage of your PM Skincare routine to seal off all them skincare you applied. The oil will act as a barrier and it will not only restore the elasticity of the skin but will reduce the visibility of wrinkles and pores.
  4. FightHair Loss and Dandruff
    – More or less, we all suffer from hair loss and dandruff. Argan oil can be your one stop solution. As because it contains a high percentage of antioxidant, fatty acid and vitamin E, argan oil revives the dry scalp faster and nourish both of your scalp and hair.
Use it as a hair mask before shower 2wice a week. Apply a few drops or as much as you need on your scalp and massage for a few minutes. I also apply it on the tip of my hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour and then shampoo as usual.
Argan oil also stimulate scalp to produce more hair, which is a bonus! You can add Argan Oil in your homemade hair oil recipe as well for added benefit.
  5. Say Hello to Shiny Hair
    – You’ll Forget all those readymade leave on hair serum if you try argan oil instead. Nothing can beat the shine argan oil gives regardless of your hair type.
Take just a few drops, depending on your hair (my hair needs 2 drops), in your palm. Spread gently on your damp hair after the shower. Blow dry or style as you prefer. This will help your hair to detangle easily, protect your hair from heat/hot tools and give your hair a healthy shine.

About Mogador Liquid Gold:

The one I’m using at the moment (picture above) is Mogador Liquid Gold (RM119) that I’ve been introduced by the company, recently. It is 100% pure, cold-pressed, made in Morocco, additive free and obviously certified by ECOCERT. The fact that impressed me the most is, Mogador works directly with Women’s co-operative in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare and their oils are sourced from there.

Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box | Another #MustHave Althea Box with Hot K-Beauty Products

0

It’s been quite a while I haven’t reviewed any Althea Beauty Box, no? I feel you. In fact, I was also missing something new from Althea as well. And so, here I present this article on Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box. This Wanderlust Althea box is overloaded with cutest k-beauty products. Of course, all Althea Beauty boxes are like so you know that are ready if you’ve been through my previous posts (e.g. althea Halloween Bucket & althea Glitter Box) .

I’ve been giving all products from Wanderlust Beauty Box a good try for quite a while now before I share my thought with you. They were mostly something completely new to me to give a go. Good part I like the majority of the products in this box.

Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box comes with 5 full-sized K-Beauty Products.

  1. Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer
  2. Aqutop Watercolour Blusher
  3. Hey Nature Dual Eyeshadow
  4. COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eye Liner
  5. Peri Pera Fashion People’s Carrier

Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer

Etude House Dr Mascara FixerEtude House Dr Mascara Fixer

Dr. Mascara Fixer is a mascara primer that has little flakes of fiber in it. The gel is transparent. I’ve used lash primers before but without those flakes. Although I’ve long lashes, I also like the look of a full eyelash.
I found out Etude House Mascara Fixer only helps to enhance the lashes by adding those fibers. Otherwise, it doesn’t give any length or lift like a mascara would do. I don’t wear false lashes. I really love the dramatic effect this mascara fixer created in my natural lashes.

Aqutop Water Colour Blusher – Soft Pink

Aqutop Water Colour Blusher in Soft PinkAqutop Water Colour Blusher in Soft Pink Swatch and Review

At first look, this Aqutop Water Colour Blusher packaging totally feels like a nail polish bottle, no? The shade comes in Althea Wonderlast Beauty Box is Soft Pink. The quality of the packaging is pretty decent. The blush inside is watry but not runny in consistency. Blends easily and you can use it not only as a blush but anyway you want. Although this is a super pretty shade I’ve here, it doesn’t show up in my tan skin. I needed something a bit deep.

Heynature Eyeshadow Stick & COC Momo Gel Eye Liner

Hey Nature Dual Eyeshadow Stick

Heynature and COC Momo, both of this brand are completely new to me. I never even heard of these brands before. In fact, this is why I love Althea Beauty box. I can get to experience a lot of unknown gems.

Heynature Dual Eyeshadow Stick, that has a spongy tip at one end. The two-color ombre eyeshadow stick is on the other end. I have here the shadeChampagne Coral, a pretty shade for everyday use. The eyeshadow is easily blendable with the sponge tip it comes with. I prefer an eyeshadow brush to do so. Also, the shadow is really long lasting.

COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eye Liner impressed me with its creamy and budge-proof formula. Glides easily and once dry it’s not gonna move a bit unless you use a good makeup remover. The shade I’ve here is 01 Real Black.

Swatch of Heynature eyeshadow and COC Momo gel liner are below…

Peripera Fashion People’s Carrier – New Yorker

Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier

This is, of course, our star product of the Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box. Peripera Fashion People’s Carrier or Mini-Mini Peppy’s Carrier whatever you call it, your wish. This set has the cutest travel makeup packaging I’ve come across so far. The luggage is such a well made one. Stickers you seeing on it comes separately so you can decor it the way you want. I wish I myself had a dollhouse or maybe a girl child! haha

This Yellow (New York) Peripera Carrier comes with 5 mini product:

  1. Ink Airy in shade Elf Light Rose
  2. Vivid Tint Water in shade Apple Squeeze
  3. Ink Velvet in shade Grapefruit
  4. Peripera Ink Concealer in shade Vanilla
  5. Ink Multi – a cool tone shadow shade

I’m not sure if any of them are limited to this carrier only. This is, obviously, my first take on any Peri Pera makeup product.

Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier Review and Swatch

These mini products are super cute and well made as well from its bottle to the applicator. They are very handy to carry around.

For the shade of the Ink Concealer, Vanilla, I had to put it aside. I assume this might be their fairest shade and surely not for my tan skin. Inc Multi is a multi-tasking product. You can use it to contour your face as well as an eyeshadow.  Or the way I’m using it – a mixer of the lipstick. Works simply fantastic!

Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier Review and Swatch

Ink Airy and Ink Velvet both are nicely pigmented and lasts on the lips for forever. They don’t dry out the lips but leaves a stain. Where the Vivid Tint Water is your straightforward lip staining product. Between Ink velvet and Ink Airy, Velvet stains the most and fast. Maybe because Ink Airy is less opaque pigmentation wise.

They all have a sweet smell, specifically, the Tint Water smells like apple juice. Tint water gives a quick and subtle tint to the lips which last for a generous time as well. If you are a fan of k-beauty bitten lips trend then this Peripera Tint Water is surely your thing to have.

Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier Review and Swatch

Peri Pera Ink Velvet is like a mousse liquid lipstick. Sets and dries on the lips within a minute but then it’s not like a liquid lipstick. It feels velvety when I touch my lips together. The Ink Airy has a more lightweight texture than the Ink Velvet. Peripera Ink Velvet and Ink, both lipstick gives a matte finish when they are dry but not smudge-proof. They will transfer in contact but they’ll be on the lips for forever. I never had to retouch with 5/6 hour when I wore them.

I love them both but I love the texture and feeling of Ink Airy the most. The shade I’m wearing in the picture below is a mix of Ink Velvet, Ink Airy and a bit of Ink Multi.

PeriPera Ink Velvet Ink Airy Review and Swatch

Isn’t the lipstick shade turned out pretty? I’m also wearing Etude House Mascara Fixer under my mascara and Heynature Eyeshadow Stick here in this look.

Overall, I really enjoyed digging through each and every product of Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box. If I only think about Peripera mini’s, it was such a good sampler for all the five product. Where each Peripera Ink costs approx RM 30 to 35. I found that these lipsticks also work well as a cream blush.
