Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation | ‘Skin But Better’ Finish

52

Finally, I was able to manage time to write about my favorite foundation for daily wear! Yes, I’m kinda coming straight to the point saying that Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation has been my favorite ever since I started using it. Sadly, this product is really underrated by people!

Urban Decay NakedSkin Foundation

Urban Decay say’s:

[color-box]

Coverage without compromise. Our weightless formula blurs imperfections for a flawless finish that feels invisible but looks professionally retouched. Whoever said ‘you can’t have the best of both worlds’ never tried Naked Skin. Not only does our new light-as-air foundation give you the buildable coverage you desire – it also looks and feels like you’re wearing absolutely nothing.

[/color-box]

Urban Decay Naked Skin FoundationUrban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation also claims to be infused with so many good ingredients such as Vitamin E, Green Tea, Anti-ageing Peptides and so on. Getting anti-aging benefit from a foundation definitely tempting especially who is in their late 20’s like me and started having those scary aging sign.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

The foundation comes in a very classy glass-like plastic bottle. It has a pump to dispense product which I always appreciate when it’s a foundation. A foundation with a pump makes it easier to maintain hygiene as well as it gives you more control on use. The bottle comes with 30ml of product which is pretty much standard for any foundation.

The best part about Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation is it offers a huge variety of shade. There are total 18 shades in this range with the warm and cool undertone. So you can easily choose your shade according to your undertone.

Urban Decay Naked Skin FoundationUrban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

My Experience with Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation:

I picked the shade 5.5, it’s in the cool undertone, which is a good match for my skin normally but in summer my match straight up goes to 7. Matching foundation and skin are confusing, you know right?!

So, let’s talk about my experience with this foundation. I have been a loyal fan of this foundation for 8+ months now. Before getting Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation I was in a search for foundation, which is mainly lightweight and thin in texture that I can wear every day. I used to wear BB/CC creams (Lakme, Garnier or Pond’s)  but got bored. I wanted a foundation that can make my skin looks like skin but more healthy. Appreciate the fact that I don’t have problematic skin and there aren’t many things to cover. A bit of concealer in more than enough! I ended up buying this one almost at own risk because no one seems to talk about this one much! Luckily it turned out as perfect as I was expecting.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation has fluid texture, almost runny, has no fragrance in it, blends effortlessly, and gives the demi-matte finish. This foundation gives light coverage initially but buildable to full coverage.

One layer of this foundation blur out minor spots I’ve and I can layer up to three coats for heavy coverage without being cakey. Demi-matte finish means it’s not matte at all but not dewy either. Sets into the skin within a minute but I prefer to use powder on top as I have combination skin. For its oil-free, water-based formula it doesn’t feel greasy on skin yet gives a beautiful healthy luminous finish after a while.

What I love the most is this foundation is seriously lightweight, lighter than anything I’ve used before and it’s long lasting. I even wore this during travel, 6hr flight plus four more hours here and there yet my foundation didn’t budge at all! It also doesn’t cling to dry patches but makes those areas look better.

Hands down, Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation has been performing as my HG foundation even when I was having sensitive skin issue!

Primarily this is a foundation for those who don’t have a lot of skin issue. It has been great for my combination skin; I believe it will work great on normal to oily skin as well. I found this foundation best applies to a buffing brush or dense sponge-like Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. You just need to shake the bottle well before use so that the fluid and pigments are evenly mixed; that is actually a rule for any fluid foundation. Do I recommend? Absolutely, without any doubt!

What is your Holly Grail lightweight foundation for daily use?

Sephora Private Sale Haul

Sephora Private Sale Haul

Yeeee….😆 It’s that happy time of the year for makeup lovers when Sephora Private Sale happens! 20% off is always a great deal to grab, isn’t it?

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

I had quite a few things in my mind to shop. I badly wanted to get some new shade of Stila liquid lipstick, been thinking to get Tarte Tartelette and Too Faced Semi-sweet Chocolate bar palette, I was also waiting for the new summer collection of Laura Mercier. I became sad seeing none of my desired Stila lipstick shade was in Sephora stock, Laura Mercier summer collection is not here yet, when I swatched Tartelette and Sei-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette it wasn’t up to the mark as I expected. Smashbox Double Exposure palette caught my eyes for a while, it’s beautiful but some of the shade aren’t really pigmented enough. So doing this and that I roam around almost 30 minutes! Obviously I was quite upset; I really wanted to pick something but couldn’t decide what to get because I didn’t really need anything! Makeup-holics problem you know!

However, I ended up picking Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette at the end and a Marc Jacobs Le Marc lipstick.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I’ve been avoiding Naked palettes ever since because for my tawny skin tone a whole palette of nude/brown shade eventually a waste. Shade variety of browns doesn’t really appear on tan skin that vibrantly, I obviously need browns for my makeup (which I already have) but for that I definitely don’t need a pricey palette! wink wink~

This was definitely an impulse buy and I don’t know what I’m gonna do with it Yet finally I’m also in the Naked band wagon! Let’s see how it benefits my work.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lipstick

This is my first lipstick from Marc Jacobs Beauty and I’m quite excited about this Le Marc lipstick purchase. I actually wanted to try them for long but never bought or even swatch one for some unknown reason. New range of Marc Nude lipsticks are in Sephora already but I found them quite sheer for my choice. Upon swatching the Le Marc lipstick range felt impressive so couldn’t resist to get one today.

… That concludes my Sephora private sale haul. My total bill was RM300 and with 20% discount I paid RM240 including GST, Happy Shopping 🙂

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

And then… I just randomly dropped by Lovisa Jewellery and Forever 21. Got nothing special though!

MAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder | Freshen Up

40

MAC Wash n Dry Highlight PowderMAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder

MAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder, Freshen Up(154RM/$35.50), one of the most anticipated recent release by MAC Cosmetics. Not only this highlight powder, Wash & Dry collection came up with whole lot of new and couple of permanent product with bright, fund and colourful summer inspired packaging. Just yesterday the collection were released online in North-America and as far as I know they will be available in store from 21st of May. I was lucky enough to get it earlier because here in Malaysia the collection launched in 30th April.

From the whole collection I picked the highlight powder, Freshen Up, only. I found this one is the most beautiful and unique product to have in my collection.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

MAC Says about Wash & Dry Highlight Powder Freshen Up:
[color-box]

Our new High-Light Powder features a unique gradation of three shades in one pan, from pastel banana through fuzzy peach to mid-coral. The final look is well polished with a sheer veil of colour that blends effortlessly into the skin. With an embossed design and pearlized overspray, this powder is truly a collector’s piece. Features specially designed packaging.

[/color-box]

MAC Wash n Dry Highlight PowderMAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder

I can’t describe enough about the beauty of this limited edition packaging! I have been waiting since I saw the preview of the collection. I just had to have one at-least in my collection. Top of that how the tri-color highlighter layered here is just mind blowing. I literally didn’t wanted to touch and ruin the product at the beginning. Trust me guys, I didn’t touch it for two day and just kept staring at the product. However, at the end couldn’t resist experience the product 🙂

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

The highlighter pan comes with 9g of product and the whole powder divided in three shade. One is quite vibrant coral, middle one is soft orange-ish coral, last one is soft yellow almost off-gold shade. There was light overspray of gold dust but that goes away after first use.

Swatch below:
MAC Wash n Dry Highlight PowderMAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

The powder texture is soft and smooth, almost blush like but nothing alike usual highlight powder. They gives sheen but doesn’t give intense light reflecting effect. All of them give semi-opaque pigmentation; the coral and orange-ish shade is great to use alone or together as blush and only the lighter shade seems to have some highlighting effect in it. However, When I mix them all and apply with a fan brush then it gives nice sheen in skin.

MAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder

On my medium tan skin MAC Wash n Dry Highlight Powder gives very subtle and natural highlight. To me it is the most subtle highlighter that I own so far and doesn’t really act like usual highlighter. Though MAC named it ‘Highlight Powder’ but I would like to say its a combination of blush and light reflecting powder. However, this powder surprisingly last long in skin without fading. I wore(coral shade as a blush and mixed all to highlight) that last time for almost 7/8 hour and it was there intact till the end.

Overall, I absolutely love the colour selection of this powder, undoubtedly this is an unique one with its texture. It screams summer and I see myself wearing this quite often for daily makeup because it looks so natural on skin!

So, have you got anything from MAC Wash n Dry collection or eyeing on something to grab???

Custom Mix Lipstick | Lime Crime Velvetines Riot

Lime Crime Riot

Today’s post is about Lime Crime Riot but its quite different than usual because its a DIY post. If you are a makeup fanatic then I’m sure you’ll find this post interesting and helpful.

Ever since I saw this visual above of Lime Crime velvetines called ‘Riot’ I was completely obsessed with it. I definitely want to buy one but till now purchasing one hasn’t been convenient for me.

Earlier this week I was just randomly looking at my previously owned Lime Crime velvetines Suedebery and then suddenly a thought popped up in my mind, ‘why don’t I mix some lipstick and try making the shade Riot’. So right away I was off to make my own Riot!

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

I did researched a lot on web, found that the original Riot doesn’t really comes off exactly like the visual, it varies on skin tone. I love and wanted the shade in the visual regardless of how the Riot actually appears on peoples lip.

Therefore, after four hours of experiment I came up with the shade below….

Custom Mix Lipstick Lime Crime RiotCustom Mix Lipstick Lime Crime Riot

The shade I made is pretty close to the visual of Riot. Needless to say, it’s not possible to make exact same shade with limited resource and they also looking tad bit warmer and lighter in the picture here than real. However, at the end of everything I’m supper happy and satisfied with the outcome. I’m satisfied more because I was able to keep that liquid lipstick formula in this mix.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Here is how the custom mix ‘Riot’ looks in my lip…

Custom Mix Lipstick Lime Crime RiotCustom Mix Lipstick Lime Crime Riot

So, what you think???

Yes yes… I know you must be wondering how and with what I made this shade! No worries, Obviously I’m writing this post mainly to share that.
My mother mixing shade was, the velvetines I was looking at and got the entire mixing idea from, Suedebery. The velvetines tube you seeing in the picture was actually my Suedeberry. It was almost 3/4th full. I mixed three/four wand of Stila Patina liquid lipstick with Suedeberry first. The base shade alike Riot came up in fist hand but that was a bit pinky and light. Then slowly I started mixing LA Splash Untamed liquid lipstick(click here for review) with that Suedeberry+Patina mix to make the shade richer, I kept adding Untamed until I got the the depth of Riot. And then… Viola!

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

I took all pictures in sunlight so the lipstick looks a bit warm but whatever it is I’m really loving the shade and literally wearing it everyday since I made it. As because I mixed only liquid lipstick so the formula is performing pretty good aswell, If I don’t eat oily food then it last until I take it off. However, I still want Lime Crime Riot and hopefully will get one soon and then I will be able to compare between the mix I made and the original.

Do you own Lime Crime Velvetines Riot? Do let me know how you loving that and what you think of my custom shade 🙂

Empties April’15 | Hair, Skin, Makeup | Short Review

Hello May! …and apology for posting my April’15 empties this late!

So this is the second post of my ‘Empties’ segment where I’m about to share those products that I’ve already used up.
These are those product that I use on daily basis, some I love, maybe some of them are not much good that I’ll purchase again or I just didn’t get space to write about them individually.

If you haven’t checked my last ‘Empties’ post then click ‘here…‘ 🙂

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Shower Empties:
At the end of April I found myself with these three(!) bottle of Organix Shampoo & Conditioner along with one large bottle of Ginvera shower scrub. No surprise about Organix though; if you are reading me regularly then you must have noticed I mentioned Organix shampoo in my March Beauty Favourite post as one of my favourites.

Empties April'15

Ginvera Green Tea Revitalizing Shower Scrub(approx RM15):
Ginvera bath products are not anything fancy, but they are quite good quality drugstore product which comes with a cheap price tag. Past two months I’ve been obsessed with this particular ‘green tea’ shower scrub mainly because It smells so refreshing. It has a gentle amount of scrubbing particle that helps to exfoliate body skin while added soaping agent mildly lather up to clean dirt.

Ginvera GreenTea Revitalising Shower Scrub

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner(RM 45):
As you can see from the picture, I used up two types of Organix shampoo. One is Fortifying Lavender Soymilk and another is Biotin Collagen. I loved them both equally. The best part of these shampoo’s are the does what they say’s and cleanse scalp very nicely.
However, the Fortifying Lavender Soymilk conditioner totally disappointed me. It doesn’t work the way I would want my conditioner to perform or they way it claim to perform. The conditioner doesn’t even nourish hair a bit.

I would definitely repurchase Organix shampoo in future, but I won’t buy their conditioner again.

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner

Skin Care Empties:

Empties April'15

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel(RM 60+):
Very recently I reviewed this product, check here… to know my detailed thought. In short, I have had kind of love hate relation with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel.

Nivea Soft(BDT450):
Nivea Soft has been all time favourite moisturiser of mine whenever I looked for something basic. This product never ever disappointed me. I also love using it for my body.
I have posted detailed review on this moisturiser, check that here…

Biore UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen(approx RM25):
Probably last year in one of my post I talked about this sunscreen. Actually I’ve been constantly using Biore UV Aqua Rich for last one and half year and never looked for anything else. This is truly an amazing sun care product. We usually hate sunscreen because most sunscreen feels heavy on skin, leaves white cast and skin tends to get oily after a while but with this particular sunscreen I never faced such issue. I can’t recall so far how many times I bought Biore UV Aqua Rich sunscreen but be sure I’ll keep purchasing this again and again.

Biore UV AquaRich

ZA True White Exfoliating Clay:
I got three magazine sample pack(30g) of ZA True White Exfoliating Clay, I used up one last month. This is actually a clay based facial mask which also has exfoliating particle in it. It also claims to be enriched with SPA ingredient and vitamin C. Exfoliating grains in it are not micro-sized, you can actually see them. So far I like how effectively it exfoliates and helps to remove excess oil from the skin but again I guess I need to use it more to figure out my final thought. So yes, I’ll continue using another pack and till now I don’t hate it.

ZA TrueWhite ExfoliatingClay

Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment:
This is a mini jar(2.5g) of Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment. Bought this mini because I wanted to try out the product before purchasing a full-size one which cost around RM165, pricey na?! Initially, I started liking this eye cream by Tarte because a little goes a long way and it really hydrated my under eye area without giving any heavy or greasy feeling. This mini jar lasted me two+ weeks. However, my end thought isn’t much satisfactory about this eye cream. Though it succeeded keeping my under eye area well hydrated but other than that it doesn’t do anything else. I’m in my late 20’s and already got some expression lines under my eye so when I’ll spend for a high-end eye cream I’ll obviously expect a bit more than hydration from that. So yes, using Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment ends here with this empty jar! This is so not going to be a re-purchase.

Tarte Maracuja C-brighter eyeTreatment

Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream(approx RM25+):
This eye cream is an old favorite. I’m using this product for a long time and I simply love it. It doesn’t do anything on anti-aging fact or reducing fine lines, but this product meets my basic need to prevent occurring further damage. This is a good eye cream for keeping under eye area hydrated and nourished!

Simple AgeRegisting EyeCream

Makeup Empties:

Empties April'15

Maybelline Master Drama Brow Liner(RM24):
Nothing much to say about this but I really enjoyed using this Maybelline brow pen for my everyday brow routine.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara(RM95):
The black without a label tube you seeing in the picture is a full-size sample of Benefit Roller Lash mascara. If you are a regular reader then you know that I received that from Sephora prior to that mascara launch. I used up this tube in April and trust me I loved using every bit of it.
Read my full review of Benefit Roller Lash mascara here & here

Biore Makeup Remover Wipes(approx RM27):
These refill packs of Biore Makeup Remover Wipes comes with 44sheet and ever since I started using these I’m completely in love. These wipes aren’t as big as normal wipes are, but you won’t need many because they are so effective on cleansing. I need maximum 2 sheets to remove my full face makeup. They are gentle on skin as well, doesn’t leave any oily residue or cause any sensitivity issue.Biore Makeup Remover Wipes
Daiso Detergent For Sponge(RM5):
I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing this product is! Trust me, the best cleanser for makeup sponge, beauty blender and even for thick dense brushes. Just two drop of it is more than enough to make my beauty blender completely stain free and clean like new! I’ve already stocked up this Daiso detergent because they don’t last long in store shelf. Do give it a try if you haven’t yet.Daiso Detergent for Sponge

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Essence Lashes Go Wild Mascara(RM15/BDT450):
This has been my most favorite mascara by Essence and also among all drugstore mascara since last year. It gives volume and length at once, doesn’t clump up, doesn’t make lashes plasticky either. Unfortunately, I noticed that my local Watsons isn’t stocking this mascara anymore, I’m not sure if they discontinued here in Malaysia or not!!!Essence Lashes Go Wild Mascara

Essence Lash & Brow Gel(RM10):
It’s just a clear mascara to set brow hair. I’m using this mascara for long, I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. Its cheap and does the job, but my mind always tells me there is something missing in this product. However, I didn’t find any substitute of this yet so, as always, already bought another one.Essence Lash&Brow Mascara

The Body Shop Camomile Eye Makeup Remover(RM12 for 60ml):
I’m very sensitive when it comes to removing eye makeup. The last couple of month I enjoyed using The Body Shop Camomile Eye Makeup Remover. It’s a non-oily formula and very gentle to eyes but cleanse even waterproof mascara without any effort. This eye makeup remover is a must repurchase for me!TheBodyShop Camomile Makeup Remover

So, that’s it for my April’15 empties. Hope this post will help you this or that way. Let me know what you have been loving recently so that I can try something new 🙂

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel | Moisturizer for combination skin

14

Hydration! A major fact to take care of when it comes to skin regardless of what type of skin anyone has. Now a day’s seems most skincare brands are focusing on that which is not bad but satisfying. Neutrogena now has a whole skincare range focused on hydration called ‘Hydro Boost’. Months ago I bought Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer along with some other product. I was mainly drawn to this moisturizer because it contains hyaluronic acid; although, I’m not so expert on chemical substance yet just wanted to try.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Neutrogena says…

[color-box]

Hydro Boost Water Gel instantly quenches dry skin and keeps it looking smooth, supple and hydrated day after day. The unique water gel formula absorbs quickly, like a gel, but has the long-lasting, intense moisturizing power of a cream. It boosts skin’s hydration level and locks it in all day. Naturally found in the skin, hydrating hyaluronic acid acts as a sponge for dry skin cells, moisturizing with up to 1,000 times its weight in water, resulting in more supple and smooth skin.

    • Oil-free
    • Non-comedogenic
    • Purified Hyaluronic acid
    • Wearable under makeup

Ingredients make the difference:

Purified Hyaluronic Acid:

    • Absorbs up to 1000x its weight in water
    • Special formula releases hydration back into skin all day
    • Naturally found in skin

Olive Extract:

    • Strengthening, moisturizing and nutrient-rich
    • Helps skin’s moisture barrier against moisture loss

[/color-box]

The packaging of this product is actually very attractive and luxury looking, fresh aqua blue represents the feeling of water and hydration for sure. The jar contains 50g of a product. There was also a second tap-lid apart from the screw-lid that I ended up trashing; it felt an extra hustle. I don’t really feel comfortable when moisturizer comes in a jar, it feels unhygienic to dip the finger into that so I had to look for an extra spatula.

The product has very water like fluid-y, thinner than gel texture with very light aqua(almost translucent) color. What I love most is the way it smells, very soothing and fresh, somewhat close to cucumber but not really that!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel glides on the skin just like water and absorbs into the skin right away. Skin feels instantly hydrated, soft and refreshed once applied. Extremely lightweight on the skin and doesn’t give any sort of greasy or oily feeling. It gives sort of matte finish after a while.

I was thrilled using it in the first place then I found out the effect it gives just doesn’t last long. It soaks into the skin so fast and leaves no trace behind which was really impressive yet within an hour I felt I used nothing on my face. I needed to reapply the product in every couple of hour to replenish moisture. I strongly disagree that Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel holds hydration for all day as Neutrogena claims. To mention, I don’t even have dry skin, my skin is a combination type. I’m just about to finish the jar and so far I didn’t notice any other benefit from this moisturizer either. However, it works really well as a base for makeup.

Overall, I like how Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel feels on the skin but again it didn’t fulfill my skincare needs. I believe this moisturizer can be very suitable for them who has oily skin for its mattifying effect yet I don’t think it will be much help if you have dehydrated skin.

Additional Note: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel reminds me of The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. Both felt the same just Neutrogena one feels a tad thinner.

Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner

First of all, the packaging you seeing here is a miniature sample of the actual liner. I got this in a goody bag given by Benefit, Malaysia. This sample holds 0.10g of product which is quite a lot to understand the actual product. The actual Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner comes with 14g of product in a pen form with the same accuflex tip.  Travel size of Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner is also available in the market.

Benefit They're Real Push-up LinerBenefit They're Real Push-up Liner

After you open the cap you’ll see a tiny-mini orange thingy which sticks to the accuflex tip and the pen twist from the end to dispense the product. I guess, that orange thingy is to protect the product from drying out but it is actually so tiny to keep but not loosing within few days. I literally lost my one within a week. The accuflex tip is rubbery, flexible, quite thin and angled in shape. I loved how flexible the tip is that you can reach every possible angle of your eye lid and as close to lashes as possible.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner

Let’s talk about my experience with the product…
If I be honest then, over a year ago when Benefit launched They’re Real Push-up Liner, it wasn’t any new product to me. Maybelline already had a similar gel liner pen before Benefit. That time I almost got one for myself but didn’t because noticed that people didn’t really like how Maybelline pen liner works.

Later on, when Benefit introduced ‘They’re Real’ Push-up Liner I was excited, thought this time it must gonna be good. I myself went through hundreds of reviews and found out that everyone is actually loving the product and only a few number saying that they don’t like it. My instinct didn’t allow me to buy the product.

However, when I received this sample I got really excited that finally, I’ll be able to try it and if it works then it’s gonna be the best liner ever. I absolutely love the idea behind this gel liner pen form and also can’t deny that the pen tip is actually great to work with. My first time using this liner went great, the product was nice and creamy, applied very beautifully. The pigmentation of this black is very black and opaque.

[wp_ad_camp_5][/wp_ad_camp_5]

Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner

Then from my second application, I started to notice some unpleasant fact. When I was trying to dispense the product it was either dispensing a lot or nothing. It wouldn’t be a problem but the gel actually dries right away once its out and you cannot apply that but left with gel bobs. Secondly, as the product dries out so fast it is literally impossible to make an even line with that. Moreover, after spending a lot of time getting your liner done within a couple of hours the liner starts to crack and flake.

Have a look at the picture below. My camera doesn’t shoot pixel perfect picture but I tried to show how this liner actually looks after a while. It’s dry, blotchy, not pigmented much, already cracked and flecking. Does this look satisfying to you?

Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner

Last part, even though the liner tends to flake easily but it is hell hard to take off. I tried everything, only with the Benefit They’re Real Remover it comes off easily. Otherwise, even with oil, I have had a hard time to remove the liner. You definitely don’t want to be harsh on your eyes, right? If so then you must have to buy the remover along with the liner and I think this is going to be not so pleasant for many. Therefore, keep in mind that if you make any mistake applying the liner then it is almost impossible to correct it without ruining your makeup!

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

Final thought???
To me, the idea behind this product is really innovative but the product itself isn’t satisfactory at all. If you are a fan of this product please don’t hate me! I just stated my honest opinion.
Would I purchase? Not a chance! But…
Benefit Cosmetics soon will be launching colorful version of They’re Real Push-up Liner. I saw some preview and those colors are really fancy. I really hope from my heart that they are coming up with improved formula as well.

So? What is your favorite gel liner?

If you reading me regularly then you already know I’m a big fan of their Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick(review here…). I got so excited when I heard about Bourjois new lipstick launch 🙂 As soon as they were available in my nearest Watsons I literally ran in to the store.

I swatch them in store, the shade ’01 Appechissant’ wasn’t available there.
Now let me come straight to the point. Though Bourjois state them as ‘Lipstick’ but if I simplify them in a category then these Aqua Laque lipsticks are nothing but lipgloss with good color payoff. Their texture is quite sheer, thin, lightweight and not sticky at all. They all are very shiny, not that sparkly cheap kind of shine but looks like the shine we see in water. They all are nicely pigmented however only reds and pinks stains on lip a bit but other doesn’t. They smells something sweet and soft unlike painty smell of Bourjois Velvet lipstick which I really like.

I usually do not like or wear lipgloss so I only picked one, 03 Brun Croyable, from the range so that I can actually try how they works.

Bourjois Rouge Edition AQUA Laque in shade 03 Brun Croyable is almost a nude shade with red hue. It’s more of a mature nude from the whole range. Once applied the shade tones down a bit. It gives an amazing cooling sensation in lip when applied, doesn’t feel tacky or sticky but feels very lightweight and hydrating. They doesn’t feather or bleed either but stays put all the way. Although Bourjois Rouge Edition AQUA Laque claims to give 10 hour of hydradtion but I found they don’t really last long in lip. They are not transfer proof by any means so when you eat or drink they will be gone. Even when I didn’t eat or drink I needed to re-apply within 2 hour. Other than that I absolutely love every fact about this lipstick(maybe I should say lipgloss).

Bottom line? I must say Bourjois again did a very good job providing a high quality lip product within a budget price. However, I would also like to mention that these lipsticks are amazing only if I take them as a lipgloss. I’m quite not agree mentioning them as lipstick. If you are a lipgloss person then you must try them and I bet you’ll love them. When you are a lipstick person and love opaque layer of color for lip then you might get disappointed by Bourjois Rouge Edition AQUA Laque lipstick. Keep this fact on mind before buying Bourjois Rouge Edition AQUA Laque lipstick.

…So, have you tried any Bourjois Rouge Edition AQUA Laque lipsticks? I would love to know your thoughts on them. Do share your opinion in the comment box below 🙂
