Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection | Review & Swatch of JLO makeup line

0

Completely didn’t see the Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection coming but almost suddenly it felt dropped in front. Hello… I’m a JLO fan so this collection was quite exciting for me. When I got the JLOxINGLOT products in hand I instantly fell in love with them because the whole collection simple screams JLO herself.

[On another news, if you’re a reader from Bangladesh then did you know that Ingot just recently opened their first store in Dhaka? Isn’t it exciting? I’m super excited to drop by the Ingot Bangladesh, Dhaka store and can’t wait for my next visit to Bangladesh!]

About INGLOT Cosmetics, there is one product, Duraline that I can’t simply think without. There is always one bottle of Duraline I’ve in my vanity to help when I’m in a makeup SOS situation. Have I ever talked about Duraline before? Can’t remember now. If not then I’ll share the uses of Duraline later in some post. Let me know if you’re interested 🙂

Apart from Duraline I also love Inglot eyeshadows and the AMC black liner of course. In 2016 I ran out of my AMC liner and for almost 6 months I looked for it to repurchase. But unfortunately, all Inglot stores in KL was always out of stock for that Black AMC gel liner… Phew!

Anyways… today’s post is not about those but my new INGLOT makeup from the Jennifer Lopez Collection. This JLOxINGLOT collection is pretty huge and the good part is that they are not limited edition. So nothing to rush but you can pick your JLO makeup with the peace of time!

Let me share with you what I have here with me…

Freedom System Palette – J FSFC

I always wanted an Inglot freedom system palette. As because I’ve other empty palettes to house my single eyeshadow pans so was always lazy to buy one from Inglot. Was late but I think I have the coolest one now 😀

There are four types of Freedom System Palettes are available for this JLOxINGLOT collection. The one I’ve here is the biggest among the four. Just like all Inglot Freedom System palette, it’s a well made empty magnetic palette. The only difference is that this palette comes with a special JLOxINGLOT Collection design, unlike a regular Inglot FS palette.

If you’re not keen to collect the Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection then it’s better to buy a regular freedom system palette. Because the largest freedom system palette is a dollar or two cheaper than this one. Additionally, the regular, large freedom system palette can house more eyeshadow/powder pans compared to this palette from the Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection

Freedom System Eyeshadows – JLOxInglot collection

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection comes with 20 eyeshadow in total. I’ve here 4 eyeshadows from the collection.

  • J327 Charcoal – This shadow has a signature Inglot DS finish (has visible glitter particles in it). Although it is named charcoal the shadow is not really a charcoal black shade. The shade is lean to grey in color and with the yellow glitter particle, it looks like a gunmetal color. If used wet it gives a deep sparkly gunmetal shade.
  • J339 Copper – This shadow has a pearl finish and a perfect copper shade. The pigmentation of it simply mindblowing like all other Inglot shadows.
  • J315 Sienna – This shadow has a matte finish and my most favorite among all Inglot eyeshadows I’ve. It’s a burnt orange shade and a must have if you love warm eyeshadows. Also, a great eyeshadow to use as a transitional shade.
  • J307 Lilac Grey – This has a pearl finish and its a pure grey with lilac undertone. You’ll love this if you love this cool tone shade.

Swatches below are without any eyeshadow primer or eyeshadow base. However, they are heavily swatched using an eyeshadow brush.

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection - eyshadow, sculpting powder and highlighter Trio Swatch | JLO glow

HD Highlighter Trio – Gold Dust

There is 2 shade of HD highlighter Trio available in Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection, Gold Dust, and Silver Dust. The one I’ve is called Gold Dust (picture and swatch above). There are 3 shades of highlighter housed in the pan. One is tan gold in shade, one is slightly peachy and the last one is the lightest white in a slightly pink tone. If you mix all three shade they give a peachy gold highlighter shade.

The highlighter, mixed altogether or alone, gives a very subtle sheen on the skin. Before using this I thought it would be eye-catching but it’s now. This HD Highlighter Trio turns out as an everyday type of highlighter.

HD Sculpting POwder – Cocoa 4

There are 6 shades of HD Sculpting Powder available in the JLOxINGLOT collection. I’ve here the shade Cocoa 4. Initially, I thought it’s going to be too deep for my skin. When I applied it the shade seems just perfect. The JLOxINGLOT HD Sculpting Powder has a smooth finish and it applies to the skin very nicely without being patchy.

Compared to other sculpting powder I’ve like Kat Von D’s or so this is way more easy to use. Because the pigment doesn’t appear full opaque with one swipe of brush but it is a buildable formula. This was my first time using any INGLOT HD Sculpting Powder and I’m simply in love with it.

Everyday look below using Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection | JLO glow

This look I created randomly using all the products I’ve from the Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection. I’ve used Sienna mixed with Lilac Grey in the outer socket of my eyes. Used a bit of copper on in the middle part. The lightest shade from the HD Highlighter Trio I’ve applied in the innermost corner of my eyes. Created a shorty kinda wing with the eyeshadow Charcoal using a damp eyeliner brush.

To contour my face I’ve used HD Sculpting powder, Cocoa 4. AS my highlighter I applied a mix of all shades from the HD Highlighter Trio.

In case if you’re curious, I’ve used Benefit GAlifornia Blush and MAC Kinda Sexy lipstick for this look.

I didn’t create this look to feature on the blog but it was for a random outing while I was trying out all the product. Before writing this post for Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection I remembered that I didn’t capture any photos wearing the Face and body highlighter which is definitely the star of the whole collection. Thus the JLO Glow look is yet to come… haha!

Livin’ The Highlight Face and Body Illuminator – Luminous

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection - Living the highlight highlighter, luminous | JLO glow

There are two shades available for this Face and Body Illuminator in the Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection, Luminous and Radiant. They both come in a 2.5g jar with a puff applicator. I’m happy that at least the jar has a sifter lid. Otherwise, it’s a messy job to take out the dust to use it only as a highlighter for the face. If you’re aiming to use it for the body then the puff applicator is perfect. For the face, the puff applicator has no use.

One interesting fact, the size of the jar will give you the feeling that you’ll need two lifetimes to finish it… haha!

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection - Living the highlight highlighter, luminous | JLO glow

This illuminator is a seriously intense illuminator and you must be very careful while using it on the face. You’ll need a little dab of the brush to cover the whole face. Also, make sure to tap off the excess highlighter from the brush before applying on the face.

Within my experience, a thin yet dense fan brush (Sigma Beauty F42) works the best with this Jennifer Lopez Inglot Livin’ The Highlight, Luminous, highlighter.

Swatch of Livin’ The Highlight Face and Body Illuminator – Luminous

Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection - Living the highlight highlighter, luminous | JLO glow

The picture above, I’ve used the Sigma Beauty strobing fan brush to swatch the Livin’ The Highlight, Luminous, Face and Body Illuminator. There was no primer or any such thing been used bere doing the swatch.

To conclude,

I like all the products from Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection I’ve now except the HD Highlighter Trio. The HD Highlighter Trio was a bit turn off to me according to my expectation. However, Its a great highlighter for everyday use.

I’m eyeing on the blushes from Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection, I might grab one anytime soon.

Have you got anything from Jennifer Lopez Inglot collection? What’s that one product you love the most and I should try as well?

KLAIRS Supple Preparation Toner | Unscented version for sensitive skin vs. The Original!

0

Klairs Supple Preparation Toner – Unscented version launched mid-March this year keeping the sensitive skin in mind. Previously the original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner was much loved by the user however for the fragrance and essential oil included sensitive skin people was really been able to love it as much as other was loving it.

I’ve used quite a few minis of the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, original version earlier. Never bought a full size because there was always a couple of mini in my stock which I was getting complimentary with purchase from here and there. When the new unscented version came out I was sent one for reviewing purpose.

I have mentioned in my early skincare posts (e.g. belif Prime Infusion Ampoules review) that I’ve been trying out this Klairs toner if you’ve noticed. After using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner – Unscented version, though a comparison between this new unscented version of Klairs toner vs. the original can help you to make the purchase decision regardless if you have a normal or a sensitive skin type.

Ingredients of Klairs Supple Preparation toner – Unscented

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum,Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine,Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Copper Tripeptide-1

Ingredients of Klairs Supple Preparation Toner – Original

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Copper Tripeptide-1

Like the original one, this unscented version of Klairs toner also has a similar ingredient list that is perfect for all skin types. All of the ingredients feature a soothing blend of plant-based extracts, along with hydrating ingredient hyaluronic acid, and the soothing Centella Asiatica.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner - the original!

Differences between Klairs Supple Preparation Toner Original and the Unscented version

  • As you can see I’ve got the mini bottle of the original version here, however, the full sizer bottle is just like the same as the unscented one. The only difference is that the unscented packaging has changed from a brown bottle to a transparent bottle. Also, the purple and silver color theme gave the unscented version a fresher, and sleeker feeling.
  • Ingredient wise, If you have a look at the ingredient list above then you can see the unscented toner has all the same ingredient the original toner has. Just the difference is the unscented version doesn’t have any essential oils in the ingredient list, which makes it fragrance-free.
  • The original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner contains non-irritating all natural essential oil, thus the fragrance you have in the toner is natural as well.
  • Texturewise I felt the unscented version is slightly thinner than the original one.

Overall, If you ask me, I like the Unscented version of Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner the most.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner | Unscented version for sensitive skin vs. the original!

How to use KLAIRS Supple Preparation Toner

The texture of the both Klairs toner is quite thick, gel-like. Although the Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner is less thick than the original one they both are hard to use with a normal cotton pad. They work the best with a spongy cotton pad that has more ventilation in it. Of course, the Klairs cotton pads work amazingly as they are made for these toners. I have got a thing for trying out different types of cotton pads and I’ve tried these toners with many types. After experimenting with varieties of cotton pad I feel comfortable using the toner only with a spongy coot pad.

Rest is simple. I soak the cotton pad with the toner and use it after washing the face and before applying a serum. I have been using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner in a rotation, AM or PM whenever I feel like to use it.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner Review | Unscented version for sensitive skin

My experience with KLAIRS Supple Preparation Toner

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is a fast absorbing toner and it has a lightweight texture. Original or the unscented version none occurred me any irritation ever. However, I feel the original version goes way to hydrated on my skin. I like the feeling of the unscented version more.

I have a 30+ combination skin type. Usually, I prefer an exfoliation toner more than a regular toner at this stage of my skin. Nonetheless, I do use a regular toner in between to soothe an protect my skin from over exfoliation. In terms of that, I’ve been really enjoying using Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner. Especially the day I physically exfoliate my face this toner has been a savior. Upon application, the toner feels perfectly moisturizing on the face.

I’ve also been using it as a part of my DIY sheet masking preparation, works great. Let me know if you’re interested to know about my DIY sheet masking ritual. I would love to write a post on that.

I also love the fact that Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is vegan-friendly.

Are you wondering who is Klairs Supple Preparation Toner suitable for?

The unscented version of this Klairs toner is for people who are sensitive to scent and got sensitivity to essential oils. The original Klairs toner is suitable for people who are not sensitive to natural fragrance of the essential oil. Regardless of that, both toner is appropriate for all skin type. Although I feel those who have a dry skin type will enjoy Klairs toner the most.

Additionally, I feel Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner can be a perfect choice of toner for the young skin.

Have you tried any of these versions of Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner? Which one you like the most?

belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules | 6 week anti-aging solution AKA nourished, hydrated & improved skin texture

0

Yes, belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules is an intense 6-week program for anti-aging care. I appreciate that these don’t claim to work magic within a magical time period like one or two weeks like most of the brands/products out there.

Don’t get me wrong, I do laugh at when I see anti-aging claims within two weeks. Just being honest!

Do you remember I told you guys while reviewing other belif products for oily skin that I’m keen to try out their anti-aging range next? I was definitely eyeing on their Prime Infusion range. It’s a fairly new skincare range by belif that seemed to amazing skin regenerative properties.

Thanks to belif Malaysia, I was sent belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules two+ months ago to give them a try. Right now I’m at the end of the fifth week and from tomorrow I’ll start the last week, will be using step 3 – Reactivate ampoule.

Are you wondering what actually a skincare Ampoules is?

Ampoule or ampoules is something similar to essences or serums. However, it’s not the same, an ampoule is a supercharged and targeted serum with higher concentrations of active ingredients. It works usually as a booster within a time frame for a particular skin crisis.

Usually, they come in a glass vial like the DocLab Face Ampoule I’ve reviewed before or in a dropper bottle like this belif Prime Infusion Ampoules. Their thickness and texture also differ from one brand to another brand.

belif prime infusion repair program ampoule

What is Prime Infusion Ampoules?

belif calls it a 6-Week Repair Program Ampoule. It is formulated to deliver maximized anti-aging effects by 3 steps intensive care.

Yes, Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules has three steps to follow!

That’s why you see three bottles of Prime Infusion Ampoules here. Each bottle has 15ml of product and a different name according to the related step.

Prime infusion ampoule Step 1: Reset

– The texture of this ampoule is lightest among all three. It’s soft, non-irritating on the skin. The Prime infusion ampoule Step 1 helps to turn uneven skin texture into silky and soft. Added As because of the marshmallow root, its main ingredient, which consists of Mucilage which helps to soften and remove old/dead skin cells.

Prime infusion ampoule Step 2: Recover

– The recover ampoule is slightly thicker in texture than the Reser ampoule. Prime infusion ampoule Step 2 ampoule is fully nutrient-enriched. It penetrates deeply into the skin and gives both moisturizing and firming effect. Formulated with various types of natural moisturizing agents e.g. Grape Vine’s sap extracted through pruning which contains active properties such as Minerals, organic acid, and flavonoid.

Prime infusion ampoule Step 3: Reactivate

– This has a thick consistency comparing other two ampoules, however, its non-sticky on the skin. Prime infusion ampoule Step 3 has the highest concentration of the nutrient-enriched ampoule formula. It acts as a finishing touch to the intensive 6 weeks ampoule program to enhanced skin firmness and radiant. Added Lotus as one of its main ingredients to helps detoxify the skin with its strong anti-oxidant effects.

During each step of the Prime Infusion Repair Program, each belif ampoule gives more effective anti-aging effect by nourishing, hydrating, and retexturizing rough skin to your best possible skin.

Ingredients of belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules:

The key herbal ingredient is Marshmallow, Grape Vine’s sap, Lotus and Mountain Daisy flower extract.
Mountain Daisy is known by the name ‘The healing herb’ for its purifying and regenerating characteristic. It’s a traditional English medical herb that was loved by the British royal family.

No Addition of Mineral oil, Synthetic fragrance, Synthetic Dyes, Synthetic preservatives, Animal-origin ingredients e.g. Parabens, Sulphates, Phthalates.
*with solar nectar infusion formula.
*Napier’s original formula.
*Dermatologist tested.

The booklet provided within the Prime Infusion Ampoule set that has the ingredient list of this product was written all in Korean (might be some other language like Japanese or so) which I can’t read, unfortunately. I looked for the ingredient list on the web and failed to find any. If I find it later I’ll try to update the blog for your convenience.

belif prime infusion repair program ampoule

How to use belif Prime Infusion Ampoules?

Not any rocket science, use the ampoules just the way you use all other serum.

After cleaning my face I use a toner of course! Recently been using Pixi Rose tonic and Klairs Supple Preparation Toner (unscented version) alternatively. Sometimes I was also incorporation The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner. I’ve not been using any other serum for five weeks now so I can feel belif Prime Infusion Ampoules properly.

In a matter of fact, I didn’t really felt switching to another serum while I’ve been using belif ampoules.

Once the ampoules are soaked up by the skin I follow up with my moisturizer. Dor makeup I skip the moisturizer and start with a primer after the using the ampoules.

Now here is the important part,
each step of prime Infusion Ampoule you use for one week and then move on to another. 3 week means one round. In the second round, you start again from the step one-Reset ampoule.

I’ve been using a quarter of the dropper amount of product each time and twice a day. The 15ml serves exactly for 2 round/6 weeks.

How belif Prime Infusion Ampoules worked on my combination skin?

It might sound boring using the same product for 6 weeks in a row. But it’s fun because it is actually a 3-in-1 kinda product. All three step has a different consistency and they feel like 3 different serum. So 6 weeks of no monotonousness.

The first step of the ampoule is very light in consistency I really enjoyed it with Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion. However, in the 2nd and 3rd step, the consistency of the product get thicker. Then I found a thicker toner/lotion like Hada Labo doesn’t really feel good but and light regular toner or an exfoliation toner [e.g. Pixi Glycolic Glow Tonic or Paulas Choice] feels perfect.

The one week rotation period belif Prime Infusion Ampoules is a bit too fast. Thus, It wasn’t possible for me to note how they working stepwise. But all together they make a fantastic targeted serum. After using them for five weeks I do feel quite a bit of improvement in my skin texture regardless having slight acne issue earlier.

Who is Suitable for belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules?

My skin feels well maintained with the use of belif ampoules.

This repair programme is surely a faster option to recover skin health. However, it’s not a cheap product! And if you take time then you can have a maintained skin without an ampoule.

But that’s what the ampoules are for, the fast result with some supercharged serum. Price can be considered in cases for sure! Those who need to improve their skin ASAP, like a bride to be, surely find belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules as a life saver.

Those who suffer from the sensitive and damaged skin they will find Prime Infusion ampoules beneficial as well. Because If reduced skin sensitivity to quite an extent.

Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion | Fully hydrated skin within a low-priced skincare routine

30

Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion is not a new product in the market anymore. What’s new about is that the formula of the whole Hada Labo Premium Whitening skincare range got an upgrade just recently (August ’21) along with the lotion. This lotion is from its Shirojyun range and contains tranexamic acid. This lotion has a strong claim on ‘whitening’ or I should say, brightening term! That special ingredient tranexamic acid does the job to brighten up the skin.

What is Tranexamic Acid?

Tranexamic Acid was completely an unknown term to me until I was sent this Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion to try out back in 2018. I obviously googled a bit to know about Tranexamic acid and how it works back then when I first started using Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion. Turns out this particular acid is widely used to treat excessive bleeding.

Does that sound weird to you?
– It felt not-so-usual to me at least. However, with a bit of further study, it was all clear to me.

Tranexamic Acid (trans-4-aminomethyl cyclohexane carboxylic acid) is widely used in Asian skincare, (from Shiseido to Paula’s Choice). It says that a certain percentage of this acid works gold standard for skin issues like hyperpigmentation, melasma and etc. This acid also works for damaged and darkened skin.

I wouldn’t go in-depth about this specific ingredient of Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion but talk about the product. After all, I’m no chemist or a skin specialist to point out anything but just a random user like you.

Yes, I do hold a tiny bit of interest in a product ingredient but to be honest, all that knowledge is taken from the web.

Overall Tranexamic Acid and its benefits do sound intriguing to me. After all, this is the main focus ingredient of this Shirojyun Hada Labo lotion. Although there was no percentage mentioned in the ingredient list of this Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion. I was kinda keen to know the ratio to compare with my readings!

Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion with Tranexamic Acid

I am completely not a fan of the term ‘whitening’. My olive-tan skin is my most favorite(wink) feature! Keeping up with bright (not dull) skin is just more than enough for me. This I what I always focus on in my skincare routine. If you have been reading GreenStory for some time now then you know I wrote about the Hada Labo Gokujyun Alpha skincare range before. I like the Japanese brand Hada Labo since that time.

Are you thinking what this Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion alone can do?

Previously, I was using all the products from the Gokujyun range at once so it wasn’t possible for me to enjoy the Hada Labo lotion and its benefit alone. Later on, I tried another bottle of Hada Labo Gokujyun Alpha lotion. Then I started to know how a lotion can simply make your life a few steps easier.

Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion with Tranexamic Acid review

I do like to indulge in my serum and essence but I’m a human being. I have my lazy days and sometimes weeks! Then I need this watery goodness, Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion, to soak me up with all the hydration I need. If not so, during the afternoon to soothe my skin or in a sleepless night, when my face feels thirsty I simply reached for the Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion.

I highly appreciate the fact that this Hada Labo lotion is skin PH balanced. There is no alcohol, fragrance, colorant, or mineral oil in it. Therefore you can tell, it is a sensitive-skin friendly product (unless other key ingredient doesn’t bother your skin).

Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion review

Wondering how to use Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion?

You can use it at any time without sun exposure. At least I was pretty much using it in the afternoon and in my nighttime skincare routine. As because the lotion has that acid content and also vitamin C and E in it I believe it’s safe to use without sun exposure.

Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion has three variations, (light, normal and rich) as far as I know. I have here the ‘rich’ formula but it is lightweight with a punch of moisture. The combination of Hyaluronic and Nano Hyaluronic Acid gave my skin a deep penetration every time I used this lotion.

End half of the last month I wasn’t doing well physically. I was also been suffering back-to-back acne bumps. I wrote in my previous post what helped me to get rid of acne super fast. Not the only acne, my skin was dehydrated due to fever. Within a month of use, I’m already down below the half of the Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion bottle. You can tell how much I was looking at it to accompany me!

Does Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion really ‘whiten’ me up?

Very, fortunately, I still have the same skin tone. The Hada Labo Lotion did help me to maintain my skin healthy and kept me away from dullness. However, there was no visible sign to have a change of skin tone.

I swear I’m still using my old foundation shaded (for ref: MAC NC42, MUFE Y425, and Fenty Beauty 360). If you desire that ‘whitening’ effect (I hope you don’t) I’ll have to disappoint you. Even Hada Labo doesn’t say that for real. Check on the golden label (first picture above) with the packaging which says, “Brightening + Hydration” 😀

To conclude, Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion reminds me of the philosophy of the company,
Simple and Perfect‘.

I’m truly enjoying the intense hydration and care it’s giving me. Moreover, isn’t it nice to find something which is within the skincare budget and also works according to the needs? Hada Labo skincare satisfies me in both aspects.

PS: I have combination skin. Also, KL weather is usually super dry. Although I have a combination skin type my skin is forever thirsty hence I’m always on to keep my skin hydrated. Back in the past, type ‘rich’ of Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion gave me a feeling that it might be a bit too heavy for oily skin type. However, the upgraded texture is remarkably light than what I’ve experienced previously. Now I feel this even if you have oily skin type texture of this lotion shouldn’t make feel heavy or anything.

Nonetheless, they also have a ‘Light’ formula and you can surely choose that to be risk-free.

Eucerin ProACNE Solution | Anti-Acne moisturizer for acne-prone skin – does it work?

4

I took the 2 weeks acne clearing challenge recently by Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment. Basically, it’s a Moisturizer for acne-prone skin that claims to control oil, unclog pores, visibly reduce acne and prevent them from coming back. I was sent this Eucerin Pro Acne Solution anti-acne moisturizer by Eucenrin Malaysia to try it out.

The product initially claims to clear out acne within two weeks. I don’t have an acne prone skin to start with. However, I do get one or two acne bumps sometimes due to hormonal changes, for my bad food habit or irregular skincare routine.

A couple of weeks ago I got one in my forehead (was sharing about it in my Instagram-stories, if you’ve noticed). Right away I thought this is the perfect time to thy the claim ofEucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment.

Before getting the product in hand I got slightly confused thinking if it is targeted acne removing medication type product or such. When I had the first look at the product it felt very interesting. It was mentioned as an acne clearing moisturizer as well as an acid peel for acne-prone skin.

I’m getting more into the acid for skincare nowadays. Thus the term ‘acid peel’ of this Eucerin Pro Acne Solution definitely intrigued me the most.

Eucerin A.I. Clearing Treatment has 10% of hydroxy acid complex if you have a look at the ingredient list. This combination of acid content helps to dry out the acne and helps to remove the dead skin asap.

Also, the acid content helps to remove the post acne spot, that I’ll explain later in the post in my experience part.

Along with curing the acne and blemishes, Eucerin ProACNE Solution is also formulated to provide moisture, control oil and to soothe irritated skin.

Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment | Moisturizer for acne-prone skin

How to use Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment:

Because it has a lot of acid in it and you must use it in your evening skincare. Also must use a good sunscreen in the daytime while using this Eucerine acne control moisturizer.

After cleaning my skin I was using the new Klairs Supple Preparation Toner for sensitive skin. Then I was using my Belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoule that I’ve also been trying out. I wait at least five to seven minutes after applying the Belif ampoule so that it gets absorbed fully. And then I use the Eucerin ProACNE Solution acne clearing moisturizer all over my skin just like a normal moisturizer.

I said above that I use it just like a normal moisturizer after the toner and ampoule. However, the amount of product I use is half of the amount of a normal moisturizer I would use. I use a minimum amount because it was suggested that way. Also because overuse of acid peel type of product might cause sensitivity.

There are few more things like using an acne patch or so I was doing in between just when my acne bump was inflamed to its peak. I will post about those stuff in another post.

Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment | Moisturizer for acne-prone skin - Before and After

My experience with Eucerin anti-acne moisturizer for acne prone skin:

It’s a thick moisturizer texturewise but spreads onto the skin very easily. A little goes a long way. The cream is pale yellow in color and has a mild scent in it.

When applied it game me a stinging sensation for a couple of seconds especially on the area of my acne. Otherwise, it felt ok. I was surprised that my bump (the picture above) dried out just within three days and within a week there was literally no trace of acne or so. This was literally the fastest result of getting rid of acne with its mark I have experienced so far.

I love the fact that it is an oil-free formula. Eucerin Pro Acne Solution – moisturizer keeps my skin oil-free yet moist for a generous amount of time. Only when I’m awake late night I felt the need of applying another layer of moisturizer over it. I was re-applying Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion at times instead of a particular moisturizer.

If you’re curious about the acid peeing fact, writing in the next block, this why I’ll continue using it even when I don’t have an acne bump.

Should you use Eucerin Pro ACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment if you don’t have acne?

– this is the question I’ve asked myself.

Eucerin A.I. clearing treatment worked on me as a mild acid peeling cream. My acne bump dried in 2 days and I noticed the dead skin layer coming off from that acne bump from the third day. However, there was no visible peeling in the other area of my face. As because it was visible removing the dead skin from the acne so I got rid of the post acne spot within a week.

I’m continuing the use of it as I liked mild acid peeling characteristic of it.

The Hydroxy Acid Complex in Eucering acne clearing treatment contains PHA. PHA pr Ply Hydroxy Acis is a variant of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which I’m getting to learn just now with this product.

My little web research says PHA act better than AHA for the sign of aging without even cause any irritation. According to that this Eucerin acne treatment moisturizer should have anti-aging benefits as well. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the product though!

Also, I want to see it, in the long run, it helps to fade out of old-spots. I’ve used other targeted peeling product like a retinol serum, a vitamin C serum or a targeted spot correcting serum which didn’t help with an old spot. If this one gives me any noticeable result I’ll make sure to update you guys.

Do I like and recommend Eucerin PorACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment?

As I mention in the first line of this article that I took the 2-week acne clearing challenge by Eucerin. Without a doubt, Eucerin ProACNE Solution won the challenge.

And overall, Yes, I do like the product. I strongly believe those who are suffering from acne problem can find this product beneficial. This was the only product I came across so far that gave me a confident feeling as an acne problem solution.

If you have an acne prone skin or you get acne occasionally like me I highly recommend you to give this a try.

Have you tried Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment? How was your experience?

If you have any other favorite moisturizer for acne prone skin do share with me in the comments below. I am always up for new skincare and new formulas 🙂

Personalized Facial Treatment at Murad Skin Center | Pigmentation and Hydration Care

Earlier this month I had my personalized facial treatment at Murad Skin, DaMen Lifestyle Mall, KL. I’m still buzzing a little bit from that facial treatment session. It was not my first time doing facial at Murad Skin, I had the experience previously as well.

The reason behind going back at Murad once aging obviously because of the benefits I’ve experienced. Also if you’re a regular reader of GreenStory then you’ve already read my previous post about Murad Skincare. I do Love this brand. Thus I thought to write this article featuring Murad facial service so you can have an idea how things are done there.

Where it is suggested to do facial treatments once a month but I myself completely ignore that on purpose. Blame goes to busy life schedule as well as I don’t it like to splurge much on a clinical facial treatment. Although I won’t deny that a clinical facial treatment is beneficial to treat skin according to its need. But the less happy fact is that these facial treatments aren’t cheap at all.

At Murad Skin I love the fact that they serve just according to the skins current requirements.

You can book an appointment at Murad online or offline just to consult with the therapist. Before consulting you won’t know what facial is actually recommended for you. The first step at Murad Skin to do a facial treatment will be the skin analysis.

The skin analysis machine identifies all major skin issues like dehydration, loss of firmness, hyperpigmentation, congestions, and wrinkles etc. After that Depending on the skin analysis result attending skin therapist will enlighten you about the primary and secondary skin problem that you should treat accordingly. There are options as well if you want to opt for the third benefit like a special masking session or so.

At Murad Skin I love the fact that they serve just according to the skins current requirements

This time when I went for my facial treatment I was suggested for a personalized treatment which is focused on pigmentation and hydration care. Having a combination skin type I knew that my skin is always lacking hydration. I also very much enjoyed and literally felt the intense vitamin C care for my pigmentation issue. Although whatever the pigmentation I have isn’t anything new. Its all was caused by the lack of suncare since my young age.

You’ll simply love the look of Murad Skin environment.

Unless you’re looking for a luxurious spa-like environment! After all, Murad is not spa but a clinical skin care center. Things are only there which is necessary. You can see the picture of the bed above but of course, there is other necessary stuff like a cupboard, desk, mirror, and else to store clothes etc. Let’s concentrate on more important fact rather than these.

You'll simply love the look of Murad Skin Center environment.

How the Murad Facial Treatment System Works?

Yes, they call it Murad Method Facial Treatment System. As I mentioned before, I was treated for two skin concern, pigmentation, and hydration, for my recent facial session. The whole facial treatment was done with four key steps.

  • Cleanse and Tone

    – We always have that little amount of makeup when we go out, no? At least I do. Less or more, no worries. before starting the main facial treatment the cleansing and toning session will ensure the that our skin is free from any other surface pollutant. They used a non-drying cleanser and also a relaxing massage session ensures that skin is at its optimal state to receive further specific treatment.

  • Treat and Repair

    – My primary concern was hyperpigmentation. I was treated with antioxidant-rich vitamin C treatment to restore the skin glow and radiance. Also, the congestion I had was cleared with an expert care.
This step was not only applying product but I was constantly feeling the care of my therapist. Relaxing massage in between and various stage of cleansing the products applied.

  • Final Mask (with optional secondary treatment focus)

    – Final mask and eye mask will always be there focusing the primary concern but there is an optional masking step as well to treat secondary skin concern. [The optional step will add additional cost to your facial treatment package. Anyone can skip it according to their budget.]
Lines and wrinkles were my secondary skin focus. For that, I was treated with a soothing seaweed mask to treat my fine lines and wrinkles. The mask was kinda cold to feel and I really enjoyed having it on my face that I almost fell asleep!

  • Hydrate and protect

    – To finish the facial treatment the products will be used are rich in antioxidant and with powerful sun protection. So that the skin will be protected and hydrated as long as possible.

Personalized Facial Treatment at Murad Skin Center | Pigmentation and Hydration Care

All the products used in the facial treatment are Murad professional products. However, after the facial treatment session, you can also consult on what skincare products should be used at home to care your skin further.

The whole facial treatment at Murad took me about 1 hour 20 minutes. 50+ minutes for the treatment and rest for the pre+post skin consultation. However, I felt the whole time just flew by!  Needless to say that my skin felt refreshed instantly right after the facial. I felt my stress from the hot and tiring day was gone like magic. It was simply amazing and I loved it.

Actually, I felt quite elated and I think I’m might start visiting Murad Skin Center regularly, not every month but at least in a quarter/year. The pigmentation and hydration care treatment I tried was priced initially RM359 and with the additional care for secondary skin concern, it is priced at RM559.

Rimmel London|A new addition to Malaysian Drugstore Makeup – price list & more!

0

Rimmel London, a new addition to Malaysia Drugstore Makeup! I’ve heard that Rimmel London was here in Malaysia before but for some reason they discontinued. I wasn’t residing in Malaysia back then so I don’t have a clue about that time. Regardless, I’m glad that Rimmel is now in Malaysia, in fact, with a bang!

Earlier February I had the privilege to attend the launch preview event of Rimmel Malaysia. The official launch party is scheduled coming 15th march. Unfortunately, won’t be joining Rimmel this time due to some pre-fixed task. [Apology again, Rimmel London Malaysia, if you’re reading this article].

Although the official celebration is happening just now, Rimmel stepped into Malaysia end of last year. They were just silently setting up to sail for the big adventure!

You must have noticed Rimmel makeup shelves at Watson’s, don’t you?

In case you didn’t know,
– Hello love, I’m here to share 🙂

No no, I won’t get into drama but thought to share some general information; e.g. Rimmel Malaysia price list and a bit of my taste on them. Frankly, I’m excited about Rimmel.

There is a reason I’m excited about getting Rimmel available in Kuala Lumpur. First of all, Rimmel is totally my type of makeup brand. Apart from a few (plus another one now), Malaysian drugstore makeup brands ad I walk in a parallel line.

Rimmel London Foundations:

I started getting to know Rimmel Makeup back in my university days (’10) in the UK. Since then Rimmel 25 Hour Longlasting Foundation was my favorite for a really long time. I use to love the coverage of it and how it feels on the skin.

Later on, I tried the Rimel Stay Matte Mousse foundation. That got hyped right after the release. But as far as I can remember Stay Matte Mousse didn’t work well with my skin (it was more on the dry side).

Needless to mention about Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder. This powder was ever since a ‘drugstore cult beauty favorite’ and mine too.

To complete the complexion need there is also Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Concealer. Suitable for those who like sheer and natural makeup. I haven’t tried this range earlier. It’s sad that even if want to it, can’t. The shade range doesn’t cater to my tan-skin (ref: MAC NC42, MUFE Y425, ELDW 4W2) shade.

Not only eyeshadow palettes, I like the selection of Rimmel eyeliner, but mascara and brow products are also available in Kuala Lumpur from now on.

This Saturday I paid a visit to Watson’s 1Utama to check how is the Rimmel store display. The range of Rimmel product is quite significant, spotted everything I was looking for along with a lot of new stuff. The price range of Rimmel makeups felt pretty reasonable to me. Not to forget, Watson’s always having some kind of price cuts! Erks!

I spotted (and bought right away)Lasting Finish 24hr Concealer at the store. I can’t recall it trying from the past. Didn’t even notice that in the Rimmel Malaysia preview event. Considering how I like the foundation, the concealer was a must try.

Did you notice that I mentioned about makeup setting spray above?

In my calculation, Rimmel makeup setting spray seems to be the cheapest (not sure about Wet n Wild makeup setting spray. That is probably priced same or slightly less). The setting spray is also waiting to be tried and tested by yours truly 😉

I’m hoping these new Rimmel makeup product won’t do any silly drama with me! I shall update you with a review post.

Have you tried Rimmel London makeup? Do you have a favorite that I might like as well?
