Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum | Does It Transform Skin?

10

This the 2nd bottle of Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum that I’m about to finish. I’ve been using this retinol serum almost continuously since Murad Malaysia launched it here. I’ve talked about what Murad claims about this product in my previous article. You’ll find about the technology and all other information there.
Today I’ll be sharing my own experience with it, review you can say!

I tried to use retinol products long ago when I was in my 20’s. You know how the skin care craze is! That time my experience with retinol was a fail. I ended up with skin peeling horror story. After that, I never reached for any concentrated retinol product.

I’m in my 30’s now and so it was kinda exciting to give Murad Retinol Serum a try. I was hopeful as well from the beginning because Murad Skincare hardly turns out disappointing. As I said at the beginning that I’m using the 2nd bottle, which, of course, means I’ve already repurchased the product. You can already guess that I’ve been liking the Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum.

But let me tell you in details, why I’ve been linking this Retinol Serum and how it actually been working for me.

Murad Retinol Serum

How I Use Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum

The first thing caught my eyes about this serum that there is no percentage of retinol is officially mentioned. Did some digging on the web and failed. I was skeptical because of my previous skin peeling experience.

I started using Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum at night only. Retinol ( a form of Vitamin A) increases the sun sensitivity and a retinol product is always suggested to use at night. I follow all the regular steps, cleansing, toning, a lighter serum (if I’m using any), and then I use the retinol serum. Just before the moisturizer.

Murad Youth Renewal Retinol Serum is not like other regular serum. It is more like a thin cream that instantly absorbs into the skin and feels almost mattifying. The scent it has is almost undetectable. The pump bottle packaging makes it so convenient to use. I like the fact that one pump was always enough for my entire face. Thus, the 1oz bottle lasts quite long. After all, this is a pricey product!

Murad Retinol Serum Benefits I Experienced

After two three weeks of use, I actually didn’t notice anything remarkable except my skin was doing quite well. Obviously, I can’t determine anything on the basis of that feeling. There were quite a few other skin care products as well which was contributing to maintaining a healthy skin.

It was around in the 7th week when I first noticed some difference in my skin. My skin texture, specifically the cheekbone area and under eye area, was looking was smoother than before. There was a bit of texture I can’t say from when. When I noticed that change in my skin texture I felt pumped up instantly.

The first bottle lasted me around 3 months, maybe a bit more. I was loving my skin so I’ve decided to continue it, got the second one. Now, till today, actually, that is the one major benefit I’m noticing from the Murad Retinol Serum. Did give using it a break as well, intentionally, to see if it reverse the effect! Found out, no it doesn’t.

Any other benefit?

Yes, there are some! My skin feels softer and brighter when I use the serum religiously.
I took a beach holiday in between. When I came back I was sunburned. The Retinol Serum, I believe, helped me to get rid of the suntan more quickly from my face and neck. However, any of my fine lines didn’t go away or vanished magically!

Youth Renewal, skin transforming, glow-boosting etc terms are juicy to ears where I believe in result only. I absolutely loved the improvement of my skin texture. It pleased me by not giving any skin sensitivity issue or so.  The serum and its quality made me consider spending on just a serum that has a hefty (to be practical) price tag. Wish it wasn’t this expensive. After all, who wouldn’t like a smooth skin texture?

Are you using any Retinol Serum that you love? Let me know in the comment below.

Althea Petal Velvet Powder | Affordable K-Beauty Translucent Powder that Work?!

9

A translucent powder or a no color makeup setting powder has been my makeup staple since 2016 when I started using Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder. It’s been kind of a never look back. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t tried any other translucent powders in the mean time. I did and quite a few; from high-end brands to K Beauty brands. Unfortunately, there was always some reason to go back to Ben Nye translucent powder.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Just this month Althea Korea launched its first ever brand product – Petal Velvet Powder. A loose translucent/colorless powder. If you’re a regular reader of mine then you already know I’m a loyal (also happy) customer of them when it’s about Korean cosmetics. It was exciting to hear about their own product launch. Thus I had to give the Petal Velvet Powder a try.

Althea Petal Velvet Powder | Translucent Powder, Korean Cosmetics, Korean Makeup, Best korean oil control powder

Ingredients of Althea Translucent Powder:

Silica, Mica, Vinyl Dymethicone Crosspolymer, Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Methicone, Hibiscus Syriacus Seed Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Maltodextrin, Fragrance.

Packaging wise it’s a simple one with a sifter and a powder puff in it. The frosted look of the jar and the soft baby pink lid give it a cuter look. The jar contains 3g of product which I think is quite a lot for its retail price, RM16. The powder has a mild floral scent in it which my nose doesn’t bother about.

Althea Petal Velvet Powder | Translucent Powder, Korean Cosmetics, Korean Makeup, Best korean oil control powder

My experience:

The first thing caught my eyes, the main ingredient of this powder is Mica and Silicone. The ingredient Mica, in fact, helps to give a glowy finish which I liked. However, I’m not a fan of a silicone based product. A silicone based powder gives a silky finish on the skin instantly. But I find it difficult to go over with any other thing (e.g. blush, bronzer or contour powder) after using any silicone based powder. Further more, for oil control talc based powders are more effective than a Mica based powder.

To be honest, I was skeptical after getting this product. I have previous unpleasant experience with Korean powders causing makeup-oxidization as well.

[wp_ad_camp_4][/wp_ad_camp_4]

To my surprise, I’m having a good experience with Althea Petal Velvet Powder. It has a very fine texture and blends out really nicely without leaving any white residue or so. Didn’t cause me any oxidization. I must mention, I use the powder to set my under eye area and dust it lightly all over the face. Then I always spray some MAC Fix+ so the silica sets onto the skin and let me go over with my powder blush and bronzers.

Another day I was doing a 2 hour long FB live session wearing this powder as my makeup setting powder. High volt studio lights and their heat were making me sweat! At the end, it was really pleasant to see that my makeup didn’t melt a bit and only there was some normal oiliness in my T-zone area.

In a nutshell, I’m actually liking Althea Petal Velvet Powder. It’s a great translucent powder with a super reasonable price tag. Only the silicone feeling is not my preference but I’m sure it’s not a fact for the majority of people.

Do I recommend?
– Absolutely. Especially, if you’re looking to try a budget friendly and Korean setting powder!

You can purchase this Althea Petal Velvet Powder directly from their website.

Innisfree Camellia Essential Hair Mask Pack | Fast Food doesn’t always come handy!

0

Another day while I was roaming around Innisfree store, their Hair Mask pack caught my eyes. It’s kind of a face sheet mask version for hair! Or maybe I should say, a super ready-to-go Hair Mask in a pack if that makes any sense! They had a few types as far as I can remember. I picked a couple of Camellia Essential Hair  Mask Pack which is for volume. Looking at them initially made me very curious to give them a try.

Innisfree Camellia Hair Mask Pack | Fast Food for hair?

The Camellia Essential hair mask claims to be formulated with Jeju Camellia Oil. It claims to revive lifeless hair, firm them and give a healthy volume.
The pack contains 35g of the product.

Innisfree Camellia Hair Mask Pack Review
This hair mask comes with a head wrapping pre-soaked sheet, which almost reminds me of a foot soaking mask. Only the difference is, the mask inside is creamy just like a regular hair mask/conditioner that we buy in a jar. Looked pretty interesting to me. The pack is quite big as well, seems it can just fit any head!

Innisfree Camellia Hair Mask Pack Review

The hair fast-food sorta idea is good but to my surprise, I found it a not-so-useful thing. Realized that it might be a good option for short (real short) hair people but if you have a medium to a long length of hair, this won’t work.

I have about shoulder-length fine and thin hair. It was so difficult for me to put all the hair inside the pack. I literally struggled and finally was able to put all my hair inside. Waited for 20 minutes as instructed. After 20min or so removed the pack to see the result. All my hair wasn’t even soaked properly with the mask, even though I massaged it from outside after putting the mask on.

After rinsing off the mask I didn’t notice any noticeable changes either. In fact, how would I? All my hair wasn’t even treated by the mask!

This Innisfree Camellia Essential hair mask pack was around RM25, quite pricey for a one-time use sheet mask which didn’t even work for me. I personally like this brand. Most of the Innisfree product I’ve tried so far was good or average. This was the first time when I found a genuine let-down Innisfree product.

Palladio Velvet Matte Metallic Lip Color | Did you catch the buzzing Metallic Lipstick Trend?

4

About a couple of months ago I got this new range of Palladio Metallic Lipstick. They call it Metallic Cream Lip Color though, as because they are creamy in texture. Metallic lipsticks are having quite a buzz among makeup lovers at the moment. No lipstick can make a statement the way metallic lipstick does. Of course, you have to be careful with your makeup when you wearing metallic lipstick. However, we all can surely take care of that. Having this range in a drugstore [plus crueltyfree] brand with a friendly price tag is indeed exciting, no?

Palladio Beauty is a fairly new brand winging out here in Malaysia. I like this brand because its products are botanical, always vitamin-infused, and cruelty-free. I wrote about a few Palladio makeup [hot/not] earlier. I got really excited seeing this new & trendy metallic lipstick range by Palladio.

I gave each and every color a good try so far to know how consistent their quality is! They all are full coverage aka super pigmented, unlike other metallic lipstick I’ve tried before. This is why they are easily wearable alone but not as a topper only. The formula is creamy but surprisingly they’re very long-lasting. Your lipstick will transfer for sure when you’re wearing them but it will be there until you remove them.

Metallic Lipstick might sound fearsome at some point because not everyone likes an editorial look in their life. Saying that they’re not that metallic. These Palladio lipsticks have a pearly sheen to them, with no chunky sparkle. They feel velvety smooth and kinda mousse-y on the lips which I love because my lip feels comfortable.

Palladio Velvet Matte Metallic Lipstick Swatch:

Palladio Velvet Matte Metallic Lipstick

Palladio creamy Metallic Lipstick comes in 5 shades

  • LV 13 Lavish
  • LV16 Ritzy
  • LV15 Gilded
  • LV14 Brilliant
  • LV17 Opulent

Lip swatches of these metallic lipsticks are below (following the left to right order of the hand swatch):

Among all these 5 shade 2, Lavish and Brilliant are my favorite. Ritzy turned out to be my least favorite. According to Palladio Cosmetics, these lipsticks are enriched with Green Tea and Vitamin E to ensure healthy lips.

If you want to try out the Metallic Lipstick Trend then Palladio Metallic Lipsticks are definitely the best option. At least they won’t cut your pocket in case you don’t like the metallic touch!

Murad City Skin Age Defense SPF 50 PA++++ | Best Mineral Sunscreen I Tried which is perfected for City Life

6

Guilty, but I confess, I’m a late sunscreen user. Yes, I’ve been using sunscreen since I was teen but was never been regular which I should’ve been. Therefore sunspots are my permanent beauty mark and maybe those premature lines on my face as well. Better late than never, for 5/6 years now I do maintain the habit of using sunscreen.
Enough of intro… What I want to share with you guys is about the Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen.

Earlier this month I was introduced to this City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen. It’s a newcomer in Murad Malaysia. Been trying it out ever since I got it.

What is Mineral Sunscreen?

There are two types of sunscreen; Mineral, and Chemical. Will talk about Chemical sunscreen some other day because I’m a fan of mineral sunscreen all the way. Let me tell you a bit about mineral sunscreen today…

Mineral sunscreens are those which contain active mineral ingredients, such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. Those active minerals act as UV filters that reflect, scatter and block the sun’s rays. These sunscreens are also known as Physical Sunscreen or sunblock in general.

The best part of a mineral sunscreen is it protects from the sun as soon as it’s applied, you don’t have to wait for it to activate. Lasts longer when in direct UV light, but NOT when if the skin to get wet or sweat. Friendly for sensitive skin and less pore-clogging.

Ingredients of Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen

Stay Bright, Shine Free and Protected with Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen ingredients

Murad Claims…

  • Shields against 89% of blue light from devices. [research result]
  • Protects from 96% of pollution. [research result]
  • Polymer matrix acts like a breathable “second skin” and blocks the adhesion and penetration of toxic environmental aggressors. This advanced ingredient creates a barrier on the skin to atmospheric pollutants like carbon particles, heavy metals, and chemical pollutants.
  • Vitamin C helps brighten skin, even tones, and correct sun damage.
  • Lutein and Iron Oxides enhance broad-spectrum protection, adding defense against, blue light, and infrared radiation.
  • Safe for sensitive skin and fragrance-free.
  • Peach color-correcting tint brightens skin tone and boosts radiance leaving no white residue.
  • Lightweight, mineral sunscreen absorbs quickly.

My experience with Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen

Stay Bright, Shine Free and Protected with Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen

Broad spectrum SPF 50 PA++++, all those usual sunscreen facts obviously it has to ensure high sun protection. I always get a sunscreen-like scent (I don’t know how to describe it) in every fragrance-free sunscreen which I dislike about sunscreen the most.

I always get a sunscreen-like scent (I don’t know how to describe it) in every fragrance-free sunscreen which I dislike about sunscreen the most.
– Did you get what I mean?
I fell in love with this Murad sunscreen at first use because for the first time I didn’t detect that sunscreen-ish smell.

I was skeptical about its being tinted (swatch in the picture above), felt it’s gonna give me a color cast or such. But the tint pleasantly blends with the skin color leaving no cast. Moreover, the tint gives an illusion of even and bright skin tone just the way it claims.

I love the fact that this sunscreen gives a matte finish after application. Those who have oily skin gonna fall in love with this sunscreen in no time. Absorbs into the skin in no time. Also goes under my makeup very nicely.

Note that, it’s not a waterproof formula. Which makes it quite a convenient one for daily use. Less effort while cleaning the face at the end of the day.

Stay Bright, Shine Free and Protected with Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen

Packaging-wise, it’s a minimalistic one like all other Murad product. I always appreciate when a brand cares about the product and its formula more rather than fancy packaging.

Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen retails for RM298 [50ml]. Honestly, this is the most pricey sunblock I’ve used so far but for the quality, I’ve become a fan already. Looking at the price, I’m using it on my face and neck only and the others, a tad less pricey ones I’ve, going on my hands and body. Fortunately, a little goes a long way so this 50ml bottle gonna last for quite a while.

Although sunscreen is the most important part of proper skin care, however, I’m not shy to say that a pricey sunscreen itches my heart, lol! Where I never bother to spend money on makeup! Sad but trust me I’m trying to change my habit and upgraded my sunscreen products from usuals since last year. So the price point, I suck it up!

Anyways, the gist is, Murad City Skin Age Defense Mineral Sunscreen is a good one to invest your money on. You won’t be disappointed for sure. It went on my repurchase list already.

Have you tried Murad Mineral Sunscreen? What is your favorite mineral sunscreen at the moment?

A Life Saver Solution To Maintain Hair dye | Semi Permanent Hair Color

18

My hair coloring obsession was giving me a lot of pain until I found a Semi-Permanent Hair Color solution that I can do at home. The colors I was doing at the salon was hardly lasting for a month and obviously, it’s not anything cheap to go for a hair dye every month.

Last month I randomly went to my husband’s favorite hair salon, was mine too a while ago where I did my pink hair color. I was discussing with Keith, director stylist, that I’m tired of the yellow tone of my hair. Can’t find a toner or any other solution to maintain it properly either. Then he showed me a lifesaver solution, Semi-Permanent Hair Color. I’ve been looking for something like that. And so, couldn’t resist buying that immediately.

Semi Permanent Hair Color | Hair color ideas

The brand Elgon, made in Italy, I came across for the first time. I don’t know much about it just trusted my hair stylist because there isn’t any such thing I found here in KL so far. The color cost me RM130. The formula is paraben free and the pump jar contains 200ml of the product. I noticed in the saloon that they have a lot of color varieties as well. Not sure if this color is available anywhere else in KL.

How To Use Elgon I Care Semi-Permanent Hair Color

This is probably the easiest hair color to use. There is nothing to mix or care for the portion but a ready conditioner like formula. Of course, you’ll need a pair of gloves. Pump out the amount you need and apply generously all over your hair. Wait for 15-20 minutes and then wash off normally. The picture above is my before and after the result, in room light.

Although the color I used is deep violet, it gave me an intense purple look due to my previous dye condition. The end part of my hair was previously bleached. There were highlights and purple-brown dye as well. If I had a fresh hair the color would appear in its true form for sure.

The picture below is how the color looks under sunlight, more vibrant and shiny.

Semi Permanent Hair Color

I love that this Semi-Permanent Hair Color instantly revives the dull look of my faded hair. It feels way too less damaging for hair. Somehow it gives me a feeling of a nourishing hair treatment after every application. This color lasts up to 5/6 wash and it gets faded gradually. Doesn’t transfer on clothes or so when dry but after a wash when the hair is wet you’ll see some color on the towel.

I’ve used the color 3 times now. Looking at the amount I still have, I can say it’s gonna last me 4-5 use more. I’m really happy with the color, its outcome, and the price I paid. Once I finish this bottle, I’m planning to experiment with a different shade of this color.

So what you think? Have you tried a Semi-Permanent Hair Color before?

Nutox Youth Restoring Advanced Serum Concentrate & Night Repair Cream | Affordable & Effective Anti-aging Skincare

4

Another impressive drugstore anti-aging skincare range I’ve been trying out for a couple of months now – Nutox Youth Restoring skincare range! I’ve received a full set (five products, including day cream, cleanser, and lotion) of new and improved Nutox Youth Restoring Skincare. Have been using these two so far,  Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate and Night Repair cream.

Are you on my Instagram? I talked a bit about Nutox in my insta-stories when I received them. Later posted a quick update with all other evening skincare products.  Have you noticed that? I was supposed to write about this Nutox Skincare long ago but you know that moment when the love for a product is so high and so you keep thinking, ‘yeah I’m gonna write about it real soon’. Furthermore, I’ve been taking a lot of holidays past months – been kinda soul searching! Sorry for the delay in sharing!

Nutox Skincare | Advanced Anti-aging in A Shorter Time

Packaging wise, they are very decent and well made. They give a glass feeling, I’m not sure if they are glass or just some heavy glass-like plastic. I gotta drop them on the floor to be sure which I haven’t done yet… 😅!

I like the slim and slick size of the serum packaging with a glass dropper. I’d really appreciate if the cream jar came with a spatula or such to scoop out the product.

I appreciate 3 key facts of Nutox product:

  • Paraben Free
  • No Mineral Oil
  • No Colourant

Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate

Nutox Skincare | Advanced Anti-aging in A Shorter Time

Ingredients:
Water, Butylene, Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Swertia Chirata Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Avena Sativa (oat) Kernel Extract, Tremella Fuciformis (mashroom) Extract, Propanediol, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Fructan, Yeast Beta-Glucan, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Tropaeolum Majus Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Tetrasidum EDTA

Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate focuses on two key feature, Actigenic+, and B’Nest Collagen. Utilizing the powers of Macro Algae and Indian Gentian Extracts, Actigenic+ is an epidermis regeneration system that significantly firms up the skin, resulting in a more youthful complexion. The formula claim to dramatically reduce the effects of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of firmness.

Nutox Skincare | Advanced Anti-aging in A Shorter Time - Yay or Nay?

Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate is not as watery as a regular skin serum but a tad thick in consistency. However, it doesn’t feel thick on the skin but absolutely lightweight, glides on easily and gets into the skin within a second. Has no greasiness, skin feels supple and nourishes instantly.

The serum has a sharp floral (jasmine-like) scent in it. Which I didn’t like at the begging but got used to after a while. I’m not a fragrant-skincare hater but it’s definitely something to note.

I’ve been using it mostly in my daytime skincare routine also sometimes at night. After cleaning my face I opt for an exfoliating toner (Clinique Clarifying Lotion or Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Toner) first. Then I use this serum and later follow up with other targeted skincare product (for night time) and moisturizer. I’m about to finish the bottle very soon. I’ve been enjoying every drop of it mainly because it gives an amazing plump feeling to the skin. Which means, keeps my skin hydrated properly. Also didn’t cause any trouble to my skin.

On the press release there is a pretty strong claim about this serum – ‘Look your youngest in 7 days’ which felt a bit too mouthful! Aside from how the serum was helping me to balancing my skin I didn’t really find it that magical. I wasn’t having any bad skin situation either to notice any drastic change. Perhaps it was doing such things, I don’t know, it’s hard to say!

All the marketing speak aside, what I believe after this long trial, it’s a good anti-aging serum that does things it’s supposed to do. Maintain and balance without irritating the skin. It keeps me feeling comfortably hydrated all day long. It also goes nicely with other skincare products or under makeup.

Nutox Night Repair Cream

Nutox Skincare | Advanced Anti-aging in A Shorter Time

Ingredients:
Water, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, C18-21 Alkane, Trideceth-6, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Tapioca Starch Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Yeast Beta-Glucan, Hydrogeneted Soyabean Oil, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium PCA, Urea, Trehalose, Polyquaternium-51, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cyclomethicone, Propylene Glycol, Lecithin, Alcohol Denat, Disodium Phosphate, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Disodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Tremella Frciformis (mashroom) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Arbutin, Linolenic Acid, Rutin, Ubiquinone, Resveratrol, Artemisia Capillaris Flower Extract, Actinidia Polygama Fruit Extract, Magnesium Gluconate, Algae Extract, Cichorium Intybus 9 Vhicory) Root Extract, Maltose.

I’m going to rave about this Nutox Night Repair cream straightforward with my full conscious. I like this night cream!

If you look at the ingredient list you’ll see a lot of active hydrating properties are there which intrigues me the most. There is also vitaminC (Ascorbic Acid) and other skin brightening properties that are helpful to even out the skin tone. I was skeptical at the beginning seeing a few oils in the ingredient list thinking it might fell greasy. I’m glad it didn’t turn out so!

It has a similar scent as the serum but not that strong. The texture of this cream is rather thick but sinks right into the skin without leaving any sort of residue. It leaves my skin super smooth and somehow silky afterward. To my surprise, I found that this cream actually helped me to calm down my skin in those nights when my skin was going through a sensitivity issue.

In a nutshell…

My skin likes both of them Nutox skincare product. I can’t say if they work exceptionally, but they are a very nice basic skincare serum and moisturizer to incorporate in your skincare, that is affordable and does what it says. I believe they’ll be suitable for normal to oily skin types very easily. The vastly dry skin might need something additional to balance out the dryness.

Have you tried any NUTOX skincare? What are you favorite serum at the moment?

Omorose Cosmetics – A Malaysian Makeup Brand | Yay or Nay?

4

A while ago I was introduced to Omorose Cosmetics. Their super cute yet simple packaging composition got me in the first hand. Also being a Malaysian brand their product versatility is impressive. I was giving all them home brand goodies a good try till now. Let me tell you how they worked for me…

About Omorose Cosmetics:

Omorose, the ancient Egyptian word means Beautiful. This Malaysian brand (made in Taiwan) was founded in 2014 by Terry Liau, a make-up artist specialised in Prosthetic Makeup and Special Effect Makeup.

Omorose ensured the quality and safety of their product by using only natural preservatives where needed. Harmful components like parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates and mineral oil are excluded from their ingrediesnt list. This is also a cruelty free brand.

Omorose AINGEAL – Colour Neutraliser

These neutralisers claim to be an all time companion for an even skin tone. These come with two universal shades, X Blue & Brown (Light Coral) and X Red/Highlighter. They also contain SPF 35++ UVA / UVB protection.

Apply directly to the skin, before foundation if you want to neutralize uneven skin tone. Blend into the skin with fingertips or a brush, and allow 15 to 20 seconds for it to set in. Set with a setting powder for a long lasting result.

I love the X Red/Highlighter one most as I don’t have much uneven skin tone issue. This has a yellow tone in it. I apply it over my foundation, around my undereye are to highlight it. It gives a nice brightening effect.

Omorose BB Stick Sunscreen Foundation

I love that the BB Foundation Stick has SPF35, UVA/UVB protection in it. It comes with 3 different shades for fair to medium skin. One stick contains 20g of product which is quite a lot.

A stick foundation is always convenient to use and travel-friendly. Initially, I thought the shade Medium-Tan will go with my tan skin and I was very excited about it. Sadly the shade turned out way lighter than my skin (my skin shade ref) to use it.
Hope Omorose releases more shades of this BB stick in future.

[wp_ad_camp_3][/wp_ad_camp_3]

Omorose Satyn – Superfine Finishing Powder | diamond

This is a colorless fine finishing powder. The pot comes with 6g of product and a puff applicator. They have two types of this Styn Finishing powder, one is matte and one is this one, Diamon, with some kind of shiny specks in it. I picked diamond for me. Needless to mention, the shiny specks in it caught my eyes. Although I couldn’t really capture this shine it has and gives when applied but I like the effect on the skin.

This finishing powder gives a complete matte yet satin overlook on the skin and locks other product, like foundation or concealer, very well. I would suggest applying it as the last step of your makeup because once you set your makeup with this powder you won’t be able to move anything else later.

Hypnotic Eyes | Silky Eyeshadow Duo – Aishwarya

Hypnotic Eyes Silky Eyeshadow Duo has 3 shade varieties as far as I remember. I loved the brown and light blue combo the most so picked Aishwarya for myself. Both shades are nicely pigmented and satin in finish. The blue shade has sorta duo chrome effect (pictured above) which I love.

They claim to have Vitamin E  in them to help prevent signs of aging, and also crease and fade resistant. I found them to be pretty long lasting on my eyes without any eyeshadow primer or so. This shadow duo is my most favorite product among all Omorose product I have.

Rosey Glow Cheek Tint

This is a gel blush tint that looks like totally a lip balm to me! This is not alike other cream blushes but very lightweight and thin in texture. Although it applies thing but gives just the right amount of tint.

They have 5 shade variety, I got Pretty Jessica, a vibrant rosy pink. Works better if you apply directly on the skin and blend with fingers and set it with a setting powder afterward. I use it as a go-to lip tint as well and works fine for y lips.

Omorose Lip Dressing

These are your regular tinted lip balm, comes in 7 flavors and shade. The twist up tube contains 5g of a product. I got the shade Raspberry Smoothie and watermelon. These balms are quite nourishing on the lip because they’re enriched with coconut oil, avocado oil, argan oil and Vitamin E. I like that these balms don’t slide off from the lips and gives a nice tint, however, I’m not a fan of how these smells.

Overall, I did enjoy trying out Omorose product. Their product quality has nothing to complain about. Although I feel their price range is a tad high. I also wish they had more shade in their foundation range.

Should you try?
Yes, you at least try their eyeshadow, wink!
