When I received an open invitation to try and review any of their treatments, I couldn’t resist. Plus I was really excited to treat my husband with a couple Thia massage sessions. After all, it’s not every day you get the chance to enjoy a VIP treatment. So, I quickly visited the HealthLand website to find a location near me and book our appointment. They’ve many centers located in and around KL, Melaka and Penang and I also found one here in my locality, Subang Jaya.

To be honest, I didn’t expect much from the outside look of HealthLand Family Wellness Center. It’s not as shiny and inviting from the outside. However, as soon as we stepped into the HealthLand Subang Jaya premises I was sorta surprised. Its very spacious, and nice and completely opposite from the outside look of it. One thing I must mention from the lift to the whole place was this scent of lemongass … ah! Loved that scent so much!

Our session was in the morning. Seemed the center was quite packed even in the first hour.

In the treatment menu,

there was three popular treatment offered by HealthLand Family Wellness Center which I was suppouse to choose from:

Thainess Oil Treatment – a comprehensive therapy that gently massages your body and mind using soothing essential organic oils.

We choose to go very traditional with our VIP HealthLand experience, and went with Traditional Thai Massage.

Our pampering journey began with a foot wash. From there, we were guided to the Traditional Thai massage room. The comfortable, warm, and dimmed environment instantly put us at ease. There were separate dresses for male and female to wear during the massage service so that we could be relaxed to from our soul!

The massage bed, linen, and clothes were neatly prepared, ensuring our comfort throughout the session. It was finally time to let go of all the stress and let our bodies rejuvenate.

I set my mind on a softer strength of massage myself that I talked through with the therapist. Cause I know my body, it’s a comfort lover. Husby didnt have any preferances.

The masseuses at HealthLand were incredibly skilled and attentive to our individual preferences. They applied the perfect amount of pressure (and I did say a few times please a tad more soft.. hehe) targeting the areas that needed the most attention. With each stroke, I could feel the tension melting away, leaving me in a state of pure bliss.

I took my last Thai Massage a long time back and that time the massage was with oil. I wasn’t familiar with Traditional Thai Massage and so I figured this time Traditional Thai Massage uses Balm instead of oil.

AH!

The tiger balm (as the therapist told me) feels this good I had no idea before. It’s so cooling and amazingly comforting.

Healthland Traditional Thai Massage Review

The technique employed by the masseuses goes beyond just their hands; they skillfully utilize their elbows, legs, and feet to contort, twist, and stretch every part of the body. It was truly remarkable to experience their expertise as they worked their magic on our tired muscles, providing immense relief.

The whole 2 hour went by 10 minutes. I enjoyed the stretching and head-massage part the most!

As our treatment came to an end, we were served a refreshing ginger drink to help us unwind. Personally, I fell in love with the ginger drink. It was a strong ginger with (possibly honey) a punch of sweetness in it. It was recharging!

Our experience at HealthLand was simply pleasant.

I definitely enjoyed the part that my dear husband took the time off to spend time together middle of the week. We were having our little chit-chat while also we enjoyed the ultimate relaxation for our bodies!

Kinda been thanking myself that I thought to go together for the Thai Massage. If you decide on a Thai Massage then you should take your spouse with you as well.

Nonetheless seeing them taking the foot massage I’m actually set my mind to experience that foot massage service soon.

How to use FOREO UFO LED Thermo Activated Smart Mask Treatment?

It’s not anything hard but very easy to use a UFO Smart Mask. First, remove the attachment ring from UFO. Take UFO Activated Mask, that you want to use. Place the mask on the device. Place back the attachment ring by clipping it inside with the sheet mask. The attachment ring keeps the sheet mask secure with the UFO device.

I found that there is always some extra essence remains on the sheet mask packet. I take out the remaining essence on the sheet after locking it on UFO.

Rest is simple, turn your UFO and the FOREO app (if you’re using that) on. Then gently glide UFO across your clean face. Massage the formula in circular motions until the device turns off. If one treatment session (90 seconds) doesn’t feel enough you can restart the same treatment by pressing the button once within 30-second after the end.

After finishing the LED Thermal activated treatment, gently pat the remaining essence into the skin. Follow with a moisturizer if needed.

Are you wondering if you must use the FOREO app to use UFO?

FOREO has a dedicated phone app for its beauty gadgets. Once downloaded the app will guide you to pair your UFO device with the app. When you scan the mask barcode the app reads it and sync the UFO automatically for the treatment. There are a few customizing options as well within the app to set thermal, light, or pulse function according to personal preference. With the FOREO app, you can set and use UFO just the way you want, which you can not do without the FOREO app.

My experience with FOREO UFO 90-second Smart Mask:

I was skeptical at the beginning and now I’m addicted to FOREO UFO.

Aesthetically this beauty device is quite pleasing, something you would want to show off! It is made of ultra-hygienic silicone and it’s soft and very smooth to touch. Among 3 colors I choose the mint UFO to match and fulfill the FOREO beauty gadget army (it’s a beauty addict’s thing, wink) of mine.

Hie there? I hope your new year is off to a great start! I’m here literally for the first post of the year and it’s about Fenty Beauty Lipstick. Since Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Launched in the market it was always the hype. Although they deserve that especially for their face products (read my previous article here). Just at the end of 2017, Fenty Beauty launched their Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipsticks. This was, in fact, my last makeup purchase of 2017.

Initially, I was eyeing on Freckle Fiesta. I went to Sephora just on the released date but evening and found out Freckle Fiesta is already out of stock. The sales assistant said it was the bestseller of the day. It has to be, that brow is gorgeous with a perfect warm undertone. However, I wanted Saw-C as well. Because it’s a perfect matte orange shade.

Fenty Beauty Lipstick | Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Shawty

I ended up buying Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipsticks Saw-C and Shawty. Shawty is a brown as well but in a dark deep manner. I found out when I mix Saw-C and Shawty it turns out just the Freckle Fiesta shade. Jackpot! Thus I had to get those two shade.

Above in the first picture of this article I mixed two shade, Saw-C and Shawty to get the color Freckle Fiesta. It turns out pretty well. In fact, it looks just the same as Freckle Fiesta. What you think?

Fenty Beauty Lipstick | Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Saw C

These matte Fenty Lipsticks are nicely creamy in texture. Actually most of them. A few of them vary at consistency. Like Saw-C and Up 2 No Good doesn’t glide as creamy and smooth as the Freckle Fiesta and Shawty does. But they are not as bad as you can’t wear, they’re good. These lipsticks have no smell and last on the lips pleasantly long time.

Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipstick packaging looks sleek from far but I’m totally not a fan. Up close, the packaging gives me a cheap feeling, specifically the inner tube. Fenty could’ve done it better for sure. Looking at the price, packaging and lipstick quality I would, apparently, choose MAC lipsticks over Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte.

5 things to know before opting for a GREEN hair | Hair Color Idea

Hair coloring has been an addiction to me ever since. I get bored too quickly of my dark brown hair and even when I feel a bit low first thing that comes to my mind is ‘let’s change the hair’. Not good at all for hair but we have only one life right? Moreover, the hair will grow new with time so hair color is a ‘Yass’ always. Nowadays I’m totally into green hair, ombre to be more specific. I find green really goes with my skin tone but it’s not really easy to maintain like other usual colors. However, it took me a bit of trial and fail to reach the perfect ‘green hair’ point and maintaining it. So today’s article is about ‘5 must-know facts’ from my experience that you should know if you’re thinking to go green with hair.

1. Pre-lightening process:

Unless you have a natural light/blonde hair you’ll have to go through the pre-lightening/bleaching process. It will depend on your hair health, how damaged are they or if they’re in the condition to take the bleach. Do expect damaged hair after the bleaching process. Especially, if you have dark hair like me then the hair takes a lot of time (which means more bleach and damage) to lose color. No matter how expert the hand is who’s dealing with your hair you’ll get the damage. So be prepared for that.

2. Know your hair type:

It is very important to know what is your hair type and what type of color can suit you. My hair type is extra fine hair, quite unusually thin. Like, my 20 hair strand is similar to one normal hair strand. It’s not that I’ve very thin hair but I simply born with such fancy hair. Thus, my hair is very stubborn when it comes to color. No matter how much you feed them they won’t be fulfilled with the desired opacity. And sometimes they might go in a totally different direction.

In the picture above you seeing I’ve done black and gray ombre hair, but I didn’t. This was my first attempt at green hair. After pre-lightening my hair specialist applied green hair dye (was a softer tone of green, Shiseido Aqua Matte – 11 to be more precise) but my hair declined that badly and I ended up getting a black-gray ombre hair for that day. This wasn’t bad, I got to rock such dope hair color (quite trendy now in Asia) for a week :p
So, do expect such experience as well. I did go to the salon to get my green hair after 8/9 days as I was told.

3. Choosing the right professional for a perfect ‘Green Hair’ outcome:

The first time I did my green hair was this (the picture above), A cool toned deep sea green and quite popping. I did like the color at the end however, this is not what I expected. The pictures I collected and showed to my stylist as a suggestion was totally different (just like the pictures below, my next green hair) compared to the outcome. I’m not sure if it was my failure to make him understand my desire. Additionally, it did bother me big time when the color came out wrong (black gray ombre) in the first place. After all, the hair colorist should’ve known the color fact.

Needless to mention, for the current green hair I switched my previous stylist (yes, had to pay a bit more as well) and got just the perfect blend (last picture) of green ombre hair.

4. Limit of hair wash:

Within my experience, I can say regardless of everything the color green last way to less than other colors. To mention red-based color last for a surprisingly long period of time. Last year when I did pink hair color and purple, later on, both of the colors lasted me more than 4 months. The green tends to last only two weeks. First time I didn’t care about my hair washing limit, washed my hair almost every day and so within two weeks it was all gone.
Recently (the picture below) I’m limiting my hair wash to 3/4 times a week (using products for color treated hair) and the color seems to hold up well. However, I don’t think my recent color will last more than 3 weeks.

5. Damage Control:

I did my first green hair 5 months back. When the color was gone I changed my hair (couldn’t take the coppery tone hair for long) back to dark brown. But my lust for that perfect muted green kept bugging me. Before deciding to opt again for the green I knew I’ll have to go through the pre-lightening process again so I started taking care of my damaged hair. We usually take care of our hair after the damage but if we take the precaution then it is possible to prevent damage to some extent.

Two weeks I spent recovering the health of my hair as much as possible then went to the salon for a new color. Loved my recent green hair and obviously, my hair is pretty spoiled again but who cares as long as I can revive it (wink wink) with a bit of care.

Just now came up one thing in my mind! Don’t we see a lot of people with virgin hair (hair that never been F***ed up with dye or bleach) giving advice on how to prevent damage? At this point, I’m finding it hilarious, words flowing into my head, “do you even know what damage is?’ ..haha never mind! just a random thought.

after such a long break I finally managed time to film a tutorial for upcoming Valentine’s Day. It’s an easy purple smokey eye. I used mostly matte shadows here so this look is quite subtle to look at and you can wear it any time of the day.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid toners or the mandelic acid itself in skincare is not a new product in the market anymore. I started using my first Mandelic acid toner when By Wishtrend launched this (July 2017) By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water/ Mandelic Acid exfoliating toner.

[& here I am in 2023, now updating my first review on Wishtrends Mandelic acid toner as I’ve been using it again right now]

I’m a regular user of AHA, BHA, and Glycolic acid toners. Mandelic Acid is known for its kind nature, anti-aging benefits, and effectiveness in removing dead skin cells, etc. With the use of Wishtrend Mandelic Acid Water/toner, I actually got introduced to the behavior of this ingredient.

What is Mandelic Acid and how does it work?

Mandelic Acid, a different form of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) is extracted from bitter almonds. It has a larger molecular bond than regular AHA, thus, it is less harsh on the skin. However, it delivers the same benefits as AHA/BHA. It is very popular for its anti-bacterial characteristics.

It is very popular for its anti-bacterial and anti-aging characteristics. Mandelic Acid accelerates cellular regeneration rate and increases collagen production. Therefore the ingredient helps to balance melanin production. For its antibacterial properties, Mandelic Acid works effectively as an acne treatment as well.

Ingredients of By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water:

Water, Mandelic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Sorbitol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Carbomer.

How I use Mandelic Acid Exfoliating Toner :

According to the brand, the toner is recommended for sensitive, dry, and acne-prone skin.
I have a combination skin type with no acne issue (that I could monitor) and I’m pretty much used to hardcore AHA/BHA stuff. I started using it in my morning skincare routine. After cleansing, I wipe my face with the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid-soaked cotton pad. On the bottle, it was instructed to use directly by patting it on the skin. I feel my skin needs a bit more exfoliating work thus the use of the cotton pad. Then I follow up with the rest of the skincare, moisturizer and all, and especially a high SPF sunscreen. Careful sun protection is when using an exfoliating toner for daytime even if you’re just sitting at home.

It’s been around two months since I’ve been using Wishtrend Mandelic Acid Skin Prep Water. I’ve given it a go for night-time skin care as well just the same way by using it after cleanser. Did took a break from it in between to see how my skin does without it.

I use exfoliating toners every day. If I’m using a mild one like this Wishtrend Mandelic Acid toner, I’m more likely to physically exfoliate my skin once a week as well.

Additionally, I’ve been using retinol serums regularly in my PM skincare routine. Now that might sound a bit too much to you. But I’ve noticed my skin is quite tough and does completely okay with all this. Obviously, I won’t suggest you follow me because I don’t know how much your skin can tolerate.

DAMN! This mandelic acid toner works amazingly with every retinol product to date. Recently I’ve been using this one before my Paulas Choice Retinoid Serum (followed by the By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuciol Night Cream) and this toner simply works fantastic.

Products below in the picture I’ve been incorporating in my skincare lately with the mandelic acid toner. These By Wishtrend products come in a package called the ‘Powerful Skin Smoothing Package’ that is focused on better skin texture and anti-aging benefits. My Experience with Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water

Simply, this exfoliating toner By Wishtrend with 5% Mandelic Acid is indeed very gentle on the skin compared to AHA, BHA, or Glycolic toners. It actually gave me no irritation or redness ever but leaves my skin smooth and fuss-free after every use.

Due to its added hydrating ingredient, it is hydrating on the skin. The other BHA toners I tried earlier (e.g. Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Toner) would leave my skin kinda squeaky clean but after using Wishtrend Mandelic Acid my skin feels a tad tacky. I assume it is because of the hydrating properties. It is not anything chafing though! It goes away when I follow up with a serum or next skincare product.

This mandelic Acid toner has been able to keep my skin fresh from the dead skin fuss. It was also effective in keeping up the skin’s brightness. My skin texture felt maintained as well.

It’s a mild toner and it gives mild exfoliation thus it’s a great chemical exfoliation option for sensitive skin. During these two months of using this, I was waiting for a day when my skin would feel unusually sensitive so I could monitor how the mandelic acid worked. But, fortunately, my skin has been doing perfectly and I haven’t got that chance.

To conclude,

I’ve no complaints about ByWishtrend Mandelic Acid toner. I actually like how gentle is this. This is a perfect option for those who face sensitivity problems with AHA/BHA.

Also, this could be a great option for those who are just starting with exfoliating toner. The kind and & gentle character it this one will surely help a new user to understand how their skin acts with such a product.

It blends perfectly with other type of skincare products I’ve been using. Also works simply fine under makeup. Sometimes I like to use it alone (without any moisturizer on top) cause it gives me that feeling of breathable skin.

I love the scent of it as well, it’s a light and refreshing one!

How to use:

Like all other concentrated serums, apply 2-3 pumps (this much I need) of the Phytoceane Moisturizing Gel to your face and neck, morning and evening after cleansing and toning, is all it takes to experience its wonders.

In my opinion, this concentrate is very much suitable for normal, oily, and combination skin. People with dry skin might not find it to be enough moisturizing, however, topped with an appropriate moisturizer it works just fine.
